The "death grip" is not an issue.
Had my phone since friday and no matter how much i try i cant replicate it.
At most it drops one bar and if thats a "death grip" every phone ive ever had suffers from the "death grip"

Yellow turns in to slightly green on full brightness.
But if you use full brightness you dont get the benifit of Whitemagic so personaly i dont see the point of using full brightness on Xperia P

Not so at all. Beauty is subjective while power is absolute.
Many will argue that the X10 is a better looking device than the galaxy s2 but only a fool will argue that it's faster.
To say you don't need the power is another thing entirely and not remotely related to the point in question.

Will do once I'm done molesting it. It just feels great, more solid, and in a way feels better "thought out" than my S.
No death grip issue - just maybe 1 bar drop in signal when I hold it, which other phones also have.

Yes, whitemagic works great, the screen is brighter at lower power, so you don't need to crank it up to "Men In Black Memory Wipe" levels to get a great image.

And the important of specs to one is subjective, while the importance of the beauty to someone can be opbjective.
We can talk in circles here for hours, but the point is, i don't like being told ''what to do''.
This is a international forum, if one simply forgets to add ''in my opinion'', don't get so ''gradual'' about it, that's all i'm sayin.
It's true about beauty=subjective / specs=absolute, but different people, different things what they find important. No one is debatting about the differences between specs between PHONE A or PHONE B.

New big move from Samsung ! After modifying the inside of the hardware with bumping the clock speed to 1.2Ghz, Samsung has now taken care of the outside :

Samsung has even updated all the photos of its microsite => Here and There
Well Nice photoshop indeed sammy eh
Personaly I still prefer the "old" one , its slick and minimalist design attracted me more. But hey, not that much of a modification btw the lack of this logo on the front was initially surprising.
I bet that this logo'ed version will be the retail version and that therefore it will be equiped with the final 1.2Ghz processor, that is pure logic from me I have no source
comments... go !

Looks much better without it, but now along with this logo, there will also be another one for the carrier right? Samsung should put their foot down like Apple and tell the carrier to keep their logo off the phone haha.

So you can advertise to everyone and yourself when you're showing off you're phone.
From a business standpoint, this was a smart move. When you have a product people obviously like, you want to put your name on it wherever possible so everytime you see or use it, you can connect it with that company.
Why you all not like it? it look too empty at the front without any logo...

U r right for showing it to others, but im not the classic serbian Iphone or nokia fan that the moment he/she sits somewhere in the club/bar/... puts his/her phone on table to show off.I like minimalistic sleek design so for that for me its better to have blank front like on prototypes(its better ot have x-files front than comercial logo banner front ).Even descret silver is ok,but totaly contrast drechy white is bad design imo.About connecting to company,i always know what im holding so that falls into water from my perspective, and if some1 need proof of company u always have samsung logo on the back so front logo is too much showing of
PS-also meny people in serbia Samsung name connects to home appliances more then with good mobile phones
So Sammy has finally made a move. May 3rd is the announcement date.

I want to know if the GS3 att will be like the HTC One X. No quad core in place of LTE.

This.
I would love to have a nearly bezel-less phone. I measured with a ruler on my S2, and if the screen is edge to edge like some of the concept pictures, a 4.8 in display will fit on it without increasing the phone's footprint at all. This is what I'm hoping and praying for...
It may just be the announcement for the Galaxy Tab 19. We all need a 19 inch tablet.
Impressive, indeed. Though when I'm available for an upgrade, we'll all be waiting for the GS4 to be announced. Oh well, I just got my GS2 a few months ago and wouldn't want to give it up yet. Besides, the screen size on the GS2 is as big as I'll ever go.

I completely agree. My Captivate was the perfect screen size and I've made due with 4.3 but anything larger is just getting too large. There really does need to be more focus on battery life more than anything. That is quite a chore, you have to plug it in and set it down. And if that wasn't enough you have to unplug it in the morning. Just terrible.
I am tempted to mod my phone to use a TouchStone, it is really convenient on my TouchPad. I heard the GS III might have inductive charging built in.
I just hope TW 5 or what ever they use is not only themed a lot more like stock ICS, but also portable to the S II.
I am also hoping for a bigger screen with a smaller bezel. Like the ONE X, but with thought out buttons.

I honestly disagree with that. I think what exists is something similar to what we did see on the skyrocket,
a combination of an actual software issue and the manufacturer sources different screens
someone had posted a picture of a few notes, all having a slightly different screen appearance
similar to the skyrocket pics I posted a while back

Sadly when mentioning my theories I get lumped into the naysayer group.
I do see that there is an issue. I scrutinized the previous methods of determining it yes, but the test image does a fairly good job of displaying the problem. Funny thing is, that test image does not display consistently across any of the displays I check...which kind of sucks...every display I own had some issue or another
It was me, I posted 3 notes side by side, all with the same settings and vastly different screen appearances. Y'all need the pic for reference again?
This is something I really only notice when viewing low res video...If I use HD or the like I dont have this issue..
Same on my PC when I watch a ****ty trailer and the blacks look blocky on my monitor..Not to say some notes dont have a real issue but I think its software mostly.
The leaked ICS build simply shifted the black clipping point from between 0 and 1 to between 6 and 7. They didn't do anything to actually fix the problem.

My best guess, based on what I know happens when you shift the black point, or increase contrast is that, on ICS, box 7 becomes roughly the same brightness as box 1 on GB. If you had a gradual fade in GB, it will still be a gradual fade on the ICS leak. The only difference is that it will gradually fade to 7 before clipping to black, rather than all the way to 1.

But Samsung has not acknowledged that it is a hardware issue. In fact, they have not acknowledged a problem at all. If they come out and say that it is a hardware problem, then fine - at least we know. But just moving the black clipping point to put a band-aid on the problem isn't doing anything at all.

It's "doing something," but it's certainly not something that would "correct" the problem. Initial testing indicated that they simply shifted the system-wide contrast, nothing more. (since you can return to the old GB results by setting contrast -15).

It's kinda odd that the letter is dated for 4/17/2012. I don't think Samsung Customer service is that good to have a letter sent and recieved in the same day. Smells Fishy to me.

That app wont do anything to address the clipping. However, supercurio, the author, says he has a separate ICS-based fix for the clipping issue on the n7000 -- so we're hoping to get it ported to our i717...
My new note having this issue but I was watching some review on youtube he was saying that most of the note has this issue so i have to keep it what if i get the next one with more issue, but was wonder if this is hardware or software issue though ?
I had a touchscreen sensitivity problem that I've now resolved, I use an aftermarket screen protector on top of the anti shatter film that comes pre installed on our phones, and my keyboard was all over the place when swiping, it seemed the screen was too sensitive even with the additional protector on, I'm using build .527
I found the following file, max1187x_touchscreen_0.idc in the /system/usr/idc directory, and just altered the touch.filter.level = 2 line using Root Explorer.
Tried all values upto 7, which for me is when the sensitivity became too low and I had to press hard to get the keyboard to cooperate, I found for me the optimum setting is 5, so the line now read's touch.filter.level = 5 as per the attached screenshot.
You may have to experiment to get your optimum setting but for me every word I swipe is correct and I always hit the smallest of checkboxes first time now with 5.

Yeah us Ultra users over the fence have the same issue. I believe its purely software.
Reason being is that its not quite as bad, and by default these settings are difference. So have a play, and maybe even go as high as 6 and that should make the issues go away, however you may need to touch the screen, not just gently breeze over it.

My issue is that it loses touch for a period of time and you have to lift your finger in order for the screen to work again, this happens more on flat surfaces especially in bed. It's annoying since it affects the gaming experience. I hope this can ease the problem, so what i need in this case is increased or decreased sensitivity?

Can anyone with 4.3 or 4.4 post a screen shot of their settings? Mine is horrible. Hoping Sony fixed it in the update.
Thanks, but please: Add "sensitity" tag to your topic's name.

How you fix that?
Didn't worked for my zu, still ghost clicking, even continious series. GPe firmware fixes a little, but I didn't like it. I merged idc files of gpe and .136 - no difference, so I think there are another responsible files else.

Thought I better let those who are running stuff I've made know that I'll be unable to support you going forward
May be back, depends on next device (z ultra, z2 or oneplus1 shortlisted for when I have more cash). On an Xperia E1 until then..
Thx everyone who helped me.

bugger
Still boot up?
Does actually.. The alarm woke me this morning 2 days after breaking, so battery ok too (no screen to drain battery lol). Was very down in the dumps about it and couldn't post for two days...
Temporary Xperia E1 rooted, xposed etc already lol (unlockable BL though) - found a cwm flash workaround called flashgordon until @[NUT] tells me how to make dual recovery for LB hehe

How did this happen?

I was careless and put phone into a loose pocket before riding my bike to get milk.. Fell out of pocket and was chewed up and spat out by the back wheel.

Ouch.. Man.. Well see you on the other side buzzie!
Bugger
Bugger, been running yours for some time now. was just waiting for you to make a flashable zip for it.
But until someone releases something else that looks better with all the chinese stuff I will keep using this.
Thanks for the good work.
:good::good:
Ta... To think I made 3 rooted dual recovery flashable roms (stock, stock deodex, dark with mods) on the last weekend and started working on iBuzman.com as an uploads and guide/blog/site lol
(B worked, C and D not so much)

Soooo, how's the battery life!? I considered this phone as a possible follow up, however anything under 3300mah just won't cut it for me.... unless we somehow receive an ZU2 upgrade with less, then I'd probably just go with it!
Good question re battery (it is still in transit) - there are lots of "screen off" activities supported (dt2w, gyro gestures, wave above screen to wake etc) so I'm guessing not much deep sleep going on! And 1440 display must draw more (50mb "lumina style upscale" cam pics too) - 4.5amp quick charge (75% in 30mins!) should mitigate these potential issues somewhat lol

Please PM me and let me know about the display that everyone is saying is so horrible. I am very curious to see if it's actually as bad as a lot have said.
