I am currently running HyDrOG3N-ICS 13.05 ROM on my UK SGS2.
Can any one please let me know
Where can I find the Latest Stock SGS2 Camera Application?
How can I install it as a system Application?
From a glance, that appears to be an AOKP ROM, which makes your questions irrelevant as trying to put a Samsung camera on AOKP won't work.
Inside a stock rom
Install as all other apks .

So you are saying that Samsung Apps are in-compatible with AOKP ROMS?

Samsung apps generally require TouchWiz framework. Last I checked, AOKP ROMs don't have TouchWiz framework.

Why don't you try a third party launcher like ADW or Go or Launcher Pro if you dislike TW that much!
The problem with launcher pro or any other launchers is with the stock launcher from samsung which run on background and take a lot of battery ...and it makes the phone really slow ..
thanks and i will try CyanogenMod 7, i hope there is no bugs in this rom
How about this?

Haven't tried it and will not do so, but seems to fit your needs, and possibly more stable than CM7 (haven't tried that either though...).

As its pretty much CM with a few "tweaks" I would say there about the same.
CM is pretty damn stable considering its only nightly 20, I have been using it as my daily driver for a few days now, no real problems not caused my me.
As far as TW, install a launcher you want, get titanium backup, look at the apk list in my sig, and freeze touchwizz and you are done.
You may want to push the launcher into system with titanium backup just in case something goes wrong you don't want to be left without a launcher
Backup first/YMMV
Hi, might seem like a noob question but going to ask it anyway. Is it possible to use the stock samsung clock/alarm on a 4.0.4 ASOP/AOKP based rom? If yes, how? If not, is there an equivelant app somewhere that has the same features? Only problem is that i can't seem to be able to wake up to the alarm app that comes with 4.0.4 AOKP based roms.

Any idea how? IE flash clock package over asop base rom?
until i find the solution to this, gonna stick with the stock firmware that came with the phone (lpq). Hopefully something comes up, either an equivelant app that does the same as stock sammy clock/alarm or porting is available.
Yes I have it I will upload soon!

Hi guys,
sorry if some might already answered this question, but i was unlucky with my search and im n00b to the Android system ( been use IOS for years)
my question is, what is the different for me with a SGS3? is it just a updated Android release?
currently im running with the XXALF2 version now and with that i can use all the SGS3 function, but what about IMM76I, does it have same function (smart call, smart stay and smart alert?) and what is the different ?
thanks in advance.
IMM76I is AOKP rom more custom rom and XXALF2 is orginal Samsung rom full whit blotware. But you haw XXALF2 custom made roms like Omega , Wanam and other.

Hmm people are loving empty spaces rather than bloatwares sorry softwares . And how misleading it would be introduce those words to new users ?
《tapatalked from galaxy s3》
thanks for the quick reply.
so with the AOKP i dont have the same function as the samsung custom rom, if i decide to flash IMM76I ?
when you say bloatware you mean software reporting status to samsung ?

Aosp roms will miss ssome features of Samsung rom . Like you won't have smart stay, pop up play, etc etc. Aosp is meant for pure Google experience like galaxy nexus. Yeah people call additional software's from Samsung as bloatwares

Thanks mate. I'm better understand it now, what about kernels, does it have anything to do with these release?

it depends on the kernel, some kernels only support samsung roms and some kernels support both samsung and aosp.
as of now it is safe to use aosp roms with thier own kernels, in a few days of time custom kernels like siyah will support both aosp and samsung roms.

Siya already does.
OP,
I would suggest staying with the samsung based roms for now. You're new to samsung android. Get used to the features and how you can use your phone.
I always used AOSP Roms (Android open source project) to replace my HTC roms but I knew what functionality I was missing.
I too am new to Samsung and finding lots of cool features that are samsung only.
There is no way I will be going to AOSP yet. And this is from someone who developed AOSP for HTC devices, so obviously I am a big fan of AOSP.
Im just saying, theres a lot of benefit from samsung roms so work out what they are before trying aosp then you will see what (if anything) is missing for you.

yeah it does, but not recommended for new users with aosp as of now. would suggest the OP with stock roms for some months atleast..
alright, i agree - the features in the stock rom are awesome and i wont miss that by any chance, the problem with me is that im love to custom everything instead of standard and sometimes it have its backfire effect
the Omega seems to still have all the feature and i would maybe stick to that one for now.
about the AOSP, do you believe there will come a release that support all the currently feature SGS3 have in the future ?
cheers and thanks

sorry I didn't know about that.
it's ICS 4.0.4, base: XWLPX and it's alliance V4 rom
Then I'd say no. There is JKay deluxe mod which I've read includes back to kill feature, but there is no version of the mod for XWLPX

So you are saying that Samsung XWLPX has the option to enable back to kill, but Simplistic V ROM doesn't? So ask the Simplistic V ROM developer to make it available, no?

LOL I confused Alliance with Simplistic (I thought they were the same). I don't use tht kind of ROMs so I don't know their names. Excuse me on that.
You should ask in the ROM thread. I don't see a way you can add the feature yourself... Good luck

LOL you don't even know the purpose of developing and the work and innovation they do. They miss some Samsung propietary features, but they have lots of more (depending on the person) useful features AND it goes months ahead official updates (on i9100 the difference will be a few months, in some devices will be longer, and in some devices Cyanogen is the only update they will see).
Think before saying so many foolishness in so few words. I'm done here bye

I'm not talking about other devices -___-
the innovation things you talk about will make many think twice before using them and lose battery life, stability & many things I don't remember.

you cannot, it needs as mentioned the TW/Samsung framework.
Please search before opening a new thread. This has been covered hundreds of times. OEM apps can not be used on AOSP based roms. Either learn to live with it or stay stock.
