Can't wait for it...or for our current devs to do their magic with their own CM builds.

Great news; can't wait.

Can someone post the comment I don't have Google plus.

As long as it has SPen support.. that's the major concern I have. Otherwise, Cyanogen = Stable. Stable is good.

I really could care less about the s pen. I used it for a total of about 15 minutes to play draw something when I first had the phone. I'd be down to jump on a build without s-pen functionality if that meant we'd have it faster.

look at the int note. they have cm9 aosp aokp and miui but no spen support because samsung hasnt dropped the source yet

Yeah, that sucks. I actually used the spen extensively on GB to take notes and do hand calcs when required for labs. now it's pretty hard being on ICS and left handed. Still wouldn't go back to GB though.

htc............april, may
Here's what I'd say...
Bootable on Evo 3D (bootable, but half the stuff won't work) - A few weeks after dump
Stable Bootable (still no 4G, bluetooth, 3D, etc.) - A few weeks-two months after dump
Cyanogenmod 9 (pre-alpha) - A few weeks after stable bootable
HTC Official Update - 3-4 months after official release

why you say that??? given CM7 status unless toast has a magic trick up his sleeve id say your way off there.
It took them a full month to get 2.2(CM6) on the Evo4G from when the source dropped. least it wasn't released to public till then in nightly build form at that from what i remember.
It takes a while to compile a full build here, they are building from scratch for most part here.
and 2.3 code was released in Dec '10 and the CM7 STABLE version wasn't released till april '11 i think according to their site. yes there were many nightly builds before that but i dont remember nor can i tell by cyanogenmod's site since nightlys are only shown for cm7 now.
but like i said in the other thread toast is not one to doubt on anything as the guy does magical things all the time so anything is possible.

2-3 months for a stable/complete build after the dump.
It's funny that with all of the new enhancements and UI tweaks that Google has put into ICS, undoubtedly HTC will still push Sense on top of it all to make any update to 4.0 unseen in every way (and still take months to release their "interpretation" of it).
5-6 weeks for an alpha build of CM to hit our phones.
3-doesitreallyevenmatter months for the Sense rendition to hit.
I'm guessing we will see a.other revision of sense to compliment ics... Ateast that's what I would do if u was them,,, just give us the widgets and the apps, Rosie can eat a d*$%

If nothing else this is all but official confirmation that there will be an official CM9 for the AT&T Note (albeit this was always likely) but it might also (but probably doesn't) hint that Cyanogen himself might help maintain it. (I bought my G2 for the specific reason that it was his daily driver at the time)

This was announced months ago on the cyanogenmod blog.
Order of operations (in true geek form, the pun was intended):
1) Exynos based systems would come first.
2) Next would be MSM86xx based systems...hence the skyrocket and our Note.
Old news is no news.
Thanks for the update, it's much appreciated to see that we're nearing a release. I'll be refreshing get.cm twice as hard now.

Awful how? I have tried two ICS roms and they bludgeoned GingerBread to death.
Performance is absolutely awful. I have been ready to return this thing a few times but I am trying to hold out until the kernel source is released to see if we can get any bump in performance. Scrolling is awful, period, on every rom I have tried. I am really hoping this isnt a snapdragon S3 issue, as were ****ed if so. Then the constant redraws, lag, app hangs, etc just make me want to switch back to WP7.
Have you tried the Unofficial rom? It is fast and clean and super stable.
It sounds to me like you have a bad Note. I had one and exchanged it. It took forever for screen transitions and the SPen was super laggy which made me originally wonder what Samsung was thinking. Until I went in for a different issue (the backlight bleed on the white notes) to swap it out with a black one.
Even the Hybrid is very fluid with all of its customizations.
yeah I ran TPC, unofficial ICS, and now dagr8s hybrid at 213 dpi. Tablet mode is awesome, but useless with all the lag. I have 3 home screens and maybe 7 widgets, and its painful to use at times. My Sensation 4g SMOKES this thing.

This is just one bad experiance.......the ics roms out right now are GOOD and smooth and fast. scrolling on my note is very smooth. you may have a bad note, or are just setting it up wrong. everyone has little tweaks they do that they think help the smoothness. so in the end what im trying to say it IS NOT THE ROMS......

It really shouldnt take them very long. google did a great job with jellybean. making it extremely compatible with all kinds of hardware. for ics we had to pull ~50 commits to frameworks from qcom to get display working. on jellybean...zero. it just works. no hacks required. google really outdid themselves this time. (also cudos to caf for releasing the display drivers same day!!) just took me 3 days to realize that yea they do work lol.
So in theory it shouldnt be too hard to get jellybean up and running on devices that have aosp 4.0. Correct?

Anyways I saw this thread and thought if this could be ported over to the S3, could it be ported to the Note 2? I was just throwing this out there to see if there are any devs out there that would be willing to give this a try??? I don't know a thing about making ROMS at all Lol but ya, it would be cool. I know it would probably be super hard, but it could be doable.

Ya the one is a pretty nice looking device. Haven't got to hold it yet without something attached from the back of it Lol. But ya, I don't think I can go back to a smaller screen. And the s pen is nice as well. Its nice for notes. I'm sure the HTC Max will be pretty dang nice

I'm with you.. after coming from an iphone 5 to the note 2, I can't go back to any phone smaller. Hopefully the ONE MAXX is good competition.

I'm sure I could live with a smaller screen again. Picking up my GNex I'm all like, "whoa SO easy to hold!" I still need to hold it untethered too, but DAMN. I rarely use my SPen, which is why I spend so much time on AOSP ROMs probably.

Ported is not the same as working. Since you seem to have a PhD in this, feel free to provide examples professor.

I think the response was proportional, someone was an ass to him so he returned the favor.

In what way was I an ass? He claimed something and I gave a rebuttal. In no way was I rude, I just stated that he should do more research before he completely shoots down someone's request/idea.
