Resolved; I created a new, empty folder, multi selected them both & deleted them & it worked. Strange.
I have a folder containing about 4,000 files. It's not a system folder or anything, it on the internal SD. Now, I've used ES File Explorer to delete it but it says "Cannot delete files!", ASTRO says "An error occurred". Now, I've rebooted and re tried to no avail. How can j delete this bloody folder? Thanks.

some files in the folder will hav permissions so deleting the folder tht contains these files wont delete...so enter folder and delete by multi select or move the whole folder to ext card an deleting is easy it happnd to me too.

Hmm ... which apk files have you moved?
Have you moved apk files of not installed apps or already installed apps?
And have you tried to move them by using another app, such as ES Datei Explorer (for not installed apps) or Titanium Backup (for installed apps) form the Market, or the build-in Data explorer (for not installed), or Settings menu => Applications => Manage applications => ... (find your apps) => Move to external sd card (for installed apps)?
If you have not installed an app, you can move the application installation package (apk file) everywhere by using a file browser/manager/explorer app.
But if you have already installed an app, you should not move the apk file as long as you want to use the installed app. Some apps support to be moved to the external sd card, and some don't. The easiest way to find out is to open Settings menu => Applications => Manage applications and have a look at the apps. if you can select the action to move to the external sd card, then the app supports to be moved. Otherwise not.
Good luck !
I transfered the uninstalled .apk files from internal phone storage to sd card and I also used es file explorer and the internal explorer as well...
And one more thing...
If I transfer the folder that contain files then files remain ok... But if I transfer multiple files simultaneously then parsing error showed up upon execution of those files..
Even i have the same issue.... any suggestions?
parsing error
Me too this is driving me crazy more than half of the apk files I put on my 32 GB SD card give me the parsing error:confused
I am not able to transfer files to the other space that you receive during root
in the root--> hack folder
when i try to transfer things with any file explorer, it will copy some and then freeze and crash
tried to transfer 3 gigs of music from my SD to the folder
I haven't had that problem. Try uninstalling ES File Explorer, then reinstalling from the Market. Make sure you go into settings and tick Root Explorer and Mount File System. I've been moving files from my SD Card to the Nook's Data folder. That subtracts from the "off-limits" storage.

Guys I had installed this app called as touch band and it had loaded some data on the internal sd card. When I uninstalled the app I tried to delete the folder but it did not get deleted. I tried to delete it from the comp but still no luck. It showed me that the storage is write protected but other folders are getting deleted. Can someone help me? Thanks in advance
If you are rooted use root file explorer to change permissions first
No dude I'm not rooted. I can delete other folders just not this one!
delete
Hello
Ive got I9305 and i got problem with 1 folder that i cannot delete. Ive tried format, delete with root access nothing work file reappear quickly again. I cannot change permission on this folder also any clue ? Problem appeared in official firmware and now since ive switched to Wanna rom its still there....
As per multiple exact same posts .
Format phone .
jje
what is the name of the folder? Have you formatted the internal memory? If a folder remains its probably a folder needed/created by android
format didnt work, that folder was downloaded from web, since then i cannot get rid of it, cannot rename nothing, that folder was created inside Download folder
JJEgan if u can read ....i writed that i formated my phone and it didnt help, (done it trough options not code cuz its not working) is there anyway to wipe that certain part of memory where photos and other stuff are ?
Try deleting that folder from recovery mode. Using TWRP or AROMA file manager.

I'm using a rooted device with root browser and need to delete certain residual files of an app.
The path is data/rallsd. I need to delete this entire rallsd folder together with the residual files inside, but unfortunately despite the system message shows that it was deleted,it actually failed to delete it.
I checked the permission of the rallsd folder and it was all ok.
I tried to move the entire rallsd folder to my external sd card to delete it. Unfortunately, instead of moving it, it was actually duplicated to the external sd card, despite that I actually clicked to move. However, surprisingly I am able to delete the rallsd folder that is duplicated to the external sd card.
What I want to ask now is,is there any apps or way to force delete the mentioned folder?
