[Q] Naked ROM for Droid X2 android 2.3.4 - Motorola Droid X2

Seems the website for the Naked Rom from this post for a Droid X2 with 2.3.4 is down. Does anyone have a copy of that or is there another version of a stable ROM that is just barebones? Need it for our project that is deploying on a private network.

****....Naked was the one rom I didn't collect...please let me know if you get a hold of it. Pretty please.

Guys,
http://iswarm.net/2.3.4-naked.zip

Sites back up...I would love this ROM even more if it didn't have Market and Email either along with Hotspot. I am trying to make a ROM for an Enterprise application where they won't even make phone calls, its running the companies two programs and that's it. You can get a copy of Naked2.3.4 here in case their site is down again matthewscorp.com/download/2.3.4-naked.zip

Best phone purchase so far!

I had been a loyal T-Mobile customer for over 4 years. Started with a G1 as my first android then moved onto a myTouch3G, then an N1, and finally a myTouch4G. I really liked the mytouch4g it was a good phone, the screen was small at 4inches compared to 4.3 that the phones are coming out of. However the worst deal was the reception. I have 4G in my city however where I lived I was getting barely Edge. If I wanted to download an app I had to get on wifi, it was horrible. Dropped calls all the time, people not able to hear me.
Then my dad convinced me to join his family plan and get a phone. For under $200, I was able to get a Droid X2 with a case, hdmi cable.
The phone is amazing! There isn't 4G LTE in my city yet so thats why I didn't get the bionic. I am glad I didn't. I get almost full bars of 3G everywhere I go. I can download apps in a few seconds. I can get on the internet wherever I am in my city and not just certain spots like T-Mobile.
This will be my phone for at least a year till there is 4G LTE and a new device comes out. I will just say one thing. I was an HTC fan but I am loving this Motorola Droid X2!
If you love it stock, wait til you try Eclipse.

A lot of people knock on the X2, but the developers we have, have been able to bring the hardware to its near potential, and my phone runs like an absolute BEAST. Take advantage of the customization we have out there, u won't be disappointed ; )

Installed Eclipse as my first rom, but I am trying molten right now with the speedy script, the phone is FAST! Is there anyway to install Clockwork Recovery on this phone? I installed with rom manager but it would not boot in.

That wont work cause koush never released the app for the x2 you have to use the current bootstrap to get into recovery.

Even if you know what's up you should read the important posts. Every phone is different and our phone is running unnoficial ports and hack jobs. Just be careful which tools you use, or get real familiar with sbfing

[Q] MX2 information/questions

Hi everyone,
After lurking for a month or so, and searching through various threads, I have a few questions for the more knowledgeable/experienced.
I purchased a 2.3.6 MX2 from Cellular South about a month ago. My options were very limited, as CS's selection of android devices is absolutely terrible. The MX2 seems to be the best android device CS carries, at least hardware-wise.
To be blunt, I've come to hate this phone. The stock firmware (GB2.3.6) is buggy, slow, slow, slow, and slow. Did I mention slow? I've rooted and installed the standard suite of root apps (adfree, TB, root explorer, etc...).
I'm probably a bit spoiled, as my previous phone was a Desire (BravoC), running a newer MIUI release, with a few other optimizations. I did not let it go willingly. I also own a slightly modded Kindle Fire, which runs wonderfully.
Now, after all that, on to my actual question(s):
1. Are there are ROMs available for the MX2, that include wifi/major component functionality?
2. I've read about some of these scripts on the forums, but have been warry of trying anything so far. Could someone point me in the right direction as far as what scripts might work?
3. I'm willing to try just about anything else to improve my MX2, provided that I can keep major functionality, wifi included. Any ideas?
Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to provide as much info as possible. And don't get me wrong--I think the MX2 is a great hardware platform, I'm just feeling let down by the stock firmware...
Thanks in advance!
What you guys should be waiting for is a 2.3.5/413 based rom as that kernel works well with your 2.3.6 system.
1. No
2.V6 Supercharger, and the second core script are the best. Both are super easy to install.
3. Skwood (the guy above me) has an awesomely clean Blur nandroid for the MX2 check it out

Or wait for the BIG NEWS update as it is the same kernel as /413.
Thanks for the info guys.

speeding things up without giving up too much

I received my replacement X2 yesterday due to a failed "back" button. My original was running stock rooted 2.3.4 with the battery fix and a few bloat apk's removed. My new phone came with 2.3.5 installed.
I'd like to speed things up on the phone, but absolutely have to have BT, WIFI, camera, and video camera. I also need to fix this battery % issue. The phone needs to be rock solid without the lousy stock lag I experienced with my old phone.
Suggestions?

if you wanna stay stock i suggest deodexing the phone and frezzing or removing the bloated apps you dont use. if you want another rom that has all those capabilities your best bet would be to stick with a gingerbread based rom eclipse, cm7. cant tell you which is faster cause i havent used either of them
Try Eclipse 2.3 by Nitro. It has perfect stability, good battery life, and the speed is much better than stock. It is the only DX2 Rom that is completely finished with virtually no bugs. It has been around for awhile, so if you have any issues with installing it odds are someone here can help you out.
CM7 is stupid fast, but the wifi is sort of glitchy. Eclipse is slightly slower than CM7 but much, much more stable. Both are considerably faster than stock.
I've ran Eclipse for about 4 months, and CM7 for over a year. I prefer CM7 because I like the speed and can deal with the bugs, but it's all preference.
If you've never installed a Rom before, read up on the stickied posts and familiarize yourself with the process before you do anything. Pay special attention to the different bootstrap recoveries and sbfing. And ALWAYS follow the instructions for installing them EXACTLY as they are written unless otherwise told
Here's the link for Eclipse http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1198857
Note that Eclipse uses 2.3.5 and CM7 uses 2.3.4
Also, 2.3.5 fixed the majority of battery issues that were present on 2.3.4
If you need your phone for work and school like I do, stay away from any Roms not using Gingerbread. They are all very unstable and buggy if you use your phone a lot.
Thanks for the suggestion. I installed Eclipse 2.3 this afternoon after work and I really like it so far. I didn't like the sd flip flop so I found the script to change it back to stock. I also became very accustomed to the stock calendar. Do you know if there's a way to install that?
I'm currently setting everything up and reinstalling all my apps.
Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk 2
Ha yea I hated the sd card flip flop, changing it back was always the first thing I did after flashing lol
I know that on the Eclipse OP there is a download for what it calls "non-inverted calender". I don't really ever use my calender app, so I don't know whether or not that means the stock calender or something different. If you want to give it a try, it is not flashable so you simply have to install it using the normal .apk file method (download, put on sd-card, install from inside whatever file manager you use; I use Astro).
Always make a nandroid backup before though, just in case you don't like it or something goes wrong you can always revert back to how it was at the time of the backup.
Actually, it's not the calendar itself, it's the widget. I really like the stock blur calendar widget because it would show three events instead of just one. Very handy.
Does anybody know what I need to do to be able to have the stock calendar widget?

The deodexed zip of stock apps for your device but they will only work on the version of android they were made for. 2.3.4 stock apps will only work on Ginger bread roms

Root for Razr XT912

I have an original US Verizon Droid RAZR XT912; I have the .215 ROM (6.16.215.XT912.Verizon.en.US) on this from the leak a few months ago (unrooted).
Since it is a year old now and out of warranty, I want to root it and put some other ROMs on it. I know there are a number of 'methods' out there to root your phone, but what is the easiest and safest one to use?
What I'd like is:
Easy and (mostly) safe to use.
Runs on MAC (when needing a desktop).
Supports the ROM I currently have on (.215).
And supports other ROMs (like Eclipse, etc.)
I know there are numerous threads on this, but I am looking for the best one that fits my above items; I don't really need the details here, just a pointer to the page(s) where instructions and/or software is located. I am used to rooting and putting on my own ROMs - but that was with HTC devices, not Motorola phones. I have no experience there, so that is why I am asking.
Thanks!

Droid razr xt912 cdma death

Seems lately between the 3 forums i frequently visit (all the time) that not much is going on for our devices anymore... Getting very bored with this device.... Scroll thru XDA and every other thread is Samsung!!! ^_drooling_^ Put the RAZR to bed? **Probably time yes** Any unique suggestions, ideas would be an inspiration for XT912 CDMA. Bout the most entertaining app i have found would be "Hangouts" for the Video Calls of course... Rooted, Safestrapped, played with nearly every ROM i can boot.. Scripts are not doing it either.. One custom KERNEL to play with.. BIG THANKS TO MY BRO @dtrail1 for his endless commitment JBX-KERNEL.. (and everyone involved) "running 6-24-13 Hybrid nightly... Smooth yes" Gotta Say PAC-man is by far my favorite along with the crimson cobalt themes.... ANYONE ELSE DOING ANYTHING AMAZING WITH XT912 CDMA???
XT912 CDMA PAC-man05
I feel ya... my droid 4 got that way and then my ole lady broke my USB port off trying to plug it in.... I loved that phone but inside I smiled and grabbed a RAZR ... then grew bored of it and around that time it slipped out of my pocket and my daughter found it dropped it and broke the screen... now I'm sitting on the RAZR M scared to grow bored of it i havent unlocked the boot loader and flashed anything yet (as it seems my growing board of it is latterly the death of it) but this thing seems to be pretty quick... a bit smaller then the other two but I'm in love... I know benchmarks don't really mean anything but its pushing 5500 stock nothing froze or disabled... there there bro there there... I really feel ya

I have an HD MAXX and I've become bored with it. Like you said all kinds of development for Galaxy. When I get on here all of the front page threads are about the old S III & the new S IV or the many variants of the HTC ONE but no front page love for the RAZR HD. I thought it would've been a lot better after the boot loader got unlocked. Don't get me wrong there's been a lot of development for it but it seems the 4.2.2 stuff is still buggy and it may get dropped if the newest version gets released and none of them are official builds and just ports so it isn't even supported by the various groups that the ports come from. I've been running Eclipses Blur from nitro but it seems to lag the longer I have it running. But I still love the phone, the battery in it can't be beat.

Well I must say I have been having fun lately with android 4.3.. Thanks to dhacker29 and Cyanogenmod. As well as 4.2.2.. The AOKP milestone2 is great and soon will be based on 4.3!!
XT912 RaZR SpYdEr CDMA
Lol, forgot all about this topic. Why? Cause development is crazy busy. Thanks @dtrail1 @dhacker29 and endless thanks to everyone involved. 1 thing I have noticed with newer phones today they do not include an HDMI jack as I was told by a Verizon rep this cost $40 to have in the phone so of course they will not do it anymore. I am also frustrated that many new phones do not have external memory card option. But I really could care less because my phone is pimp and is better than most new for these reasons and many others. (Devs of course)
EDIT- Might be wrong forum for this topic? Maybe General? IDK

Ok I've reviewed a lot of threads and some say the Maxx can't be rooted. If there is a link to instruction of how to root this.... Please post here
I'm running JellyBean on a XT912 ... A veriZon phone but want to ditch the software as there are no VeriZon towers here...
Here is a vision... I'd like to run an AT&T sim but want to use the Tracfone bring your own phone which now works only with veriZon smartphones ... but I have an AT&T Tracfone with it's sim that works in this area ... I'd like to place that sim in my Razr Maxx and call and set up the phones ESN to be a Tracfone ... Not a smartphone or for data but just as my phone.
Question... How might this be done ? Can a phones ESN be changed so I would place a working Tracphone's ESN for the towers to see ? Or if I got the right Tracphone agent on and (s)he entered my phones ESN could it be configured to work ? Thanks for all you have done and your responses .

You can use Matt's utility to root the droid RAZR xt912. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192467
If you plan to install custom roms you will probably also want to install safestrap recovery software. Don't use Matt's utility for that, instead download the safestrap 3.65 apk (the latest version) and install that instead. See http://rootzwiki.com/topic/104161-recovery-locked-safestrap-recovery-v365-2013-11-13/
I have read that the droid RAZR xt912 will not work on the at&t network, but I have no experience with this. It's true that it is a global ready phone and will work on gsm overseas, but apparently it won't work on gsm in the states (not sure if the radio is incompatible with at&t or if Verizon did something to make sure it wouldn't work on their biggest competitors system). Please post your experience if you learn more.

I am now bootloader unlocked/s-off amazing difference as well as a lot more to choose from as far as active development seeing how this is a newer device.
