About a month ago I went through the hboot downgrade process to try to get s-off. I had all the right drivers installed and everything else. Revolutionary just kept giving me an invalid beta key. Because revolutionary didn't work I updated back to hboot 1.5 cause I already had root with that. With the New ics roms coming out and having to update the firmware, I decided to do the downgrade again, but revolutionary refuses to work. Invalid beta key is the message I get. And to get to the point, I want to know if anybody has any solutions for this. I've heard of a few people that said one week it didn't work and next week it did, or other stuff. Anybody have any helpful information?
Any tips or tricks are appreciated, will try just about anything

Does revolutionary actually use your actual serial # to check against the beta key? Meaning, if you had another one that worked (like mine) and used it, would it still refuse because it doesn't match your device?
This sounds elementary, but are you typing in the Serial yourself or are you cutting and pasting the serial # from the revolutionary prompt? When I ran revolutionary, it prompted me for the beta key and had my serial # in brackets, like [HTC2018482] or whatever. I copied everything into the brackets, pasted it into the site, and got my key that way. It might be a good way to make sure you're getting the same values that revolutionary is seeing.
When I used it, I had to copy and paste the key, manually retyping it didn't work. Hopefully this helps

You have a point, but I can't use any if the ics roms. They all reboot on me. After flashing I can't even unlock the screen cause it reboots. Also, when official ics is out I'm going to need to update the firmware. I don't want to get stuck with another hboot with the update

I'm thinking about intentionally bricking it and taking it to Sprint and I'll either get another one or something else. Not sure what to do yet. I guess I'll wait till official ics and see if there is anything new to help with the hboot and if not I'm getting rid of this. As much as I love HTC this might be my last one cause of all this hboot and bootloader crap

Try turning the anitvirus protection off. Then reboot your pc/laptop. Then run the exe.

What I think could be :
When you have generated the Revulutionary key you were in HBoot version 0007/8
Now your HBoot version is 1107/8.
I do not know if there is a kind of check intergrated between the generated key and the tool which could cause your trouble ?
I had this problem when I was first using it. What I did was to copy the key and then paste it into wordpad and then I typed it manually when asked and that worked for me.

Okay so here's the deal. I was attempting to add some tweaks to file systems (system, devlog, and cache). I flashed my ROM with the tweaks included and then powered off from recovery because I had to pick a friend up from work. I came home and when I turned my flyer on it just booted to a black screen. So I tried rebooting into bootloader and recovery through adb and they both rebooted to this same black screen. No htc splash or anything.
Things I have tried:
Re-flashing recovery
Running RUU's
Re-flashing bootloader
Flashing zips through fastboot from Globatron's HC upgrade thread
Letting it die and trying again
Pretty much everything I can think of
When I flash any zip through fastboot, it says something like "Failed: remote id".
When i run any RUU, it says either that the battery is too low (which I know it isn't because I've charged overnight) or that it can't continue because there is a model ID error. I've tried using RUUs from the 3g flyer, wifi flyer, and US wifi flyer (I own the US wifi version) and they all say the same thing.
I still have adb and fastboot access, so I'm confident that this is fixable, but it is beyond my knowledge now and I need your help! So please if you have any suggestions, throw them out here! Let me know if more details are needed.
I tried looking at other "my Flyer is bricked" threads but none seemed to help my current situation.
Figures I was going to start working on my ROM again and this happens
Maybe
Fastboot erase cache
Almost sounds like you are in download mode. I have read in a couple threads allong the way of people finding themselves there but struggling to get out
Yeah I've tried that already with no avail. It's so weird. But how would've this triggered download mode?
yea I am not sure, nor am I sure my idea holds any water since you have allowed your flyer to completely drain. I believe that once you did that and it charged enough to power on you would be out of download mode. I think. when you do an adb reboot or fatboot reboot recovery it does appear like your flyer is rebooting? I know the end result is a black screen, but is it seamingly turning off then on again?
Well when I reboot it just sits at the black screen and vibrates once. It might go dark for a second but I would have to check again, and it is charging right now.
I don't like bumping threads, but I'm pretty desperate here. I tried fooling around with it some more and I still have nothing. Any input at all would be appreciated

Well that's the thing, I'm never really in the botloader. I'm at a black screen no matter what I do however I can still use fast boot and adb. I might try that when it charges again.
Whenever I try to flash a zip through fast boot it says "failed remote id not allowed"
I'm thinking maybe it has something to do with the boot loader but I really haven't got a clue. When I type fast boot getvar all it says that I'm still s-off.
I even tried changing my main version to no avail.

Sadly, I think you're right I just tried to unlock my bootloader as a last resort and I got to the point where you use the volume buttons to make an on screen selection and that screen never popped up. So I guess my screen really is dead..
Yeah it sucks but I've found stuff on mobile devices tend to just up and die without warning, I guess your best bet is HTC support. I know someone on here had a bad charging jack and wasn't able to revert to stock and they still honored his warranty and fixed his flyer

I have tried everything I can find on unrooting and tried them all, but I can not get it to fully unroot!!
Here is my details:
S-On
HBoot 1.12.0000
Radio 1.05.11.0606
I tried all three RUU programs and it starts the process, then as it's "sending" it says "Unknown Error" and stops.
I have lost my 3 and 4G connection and I need to return it to Sprint, but they won't touch it until I'm back to stock.
ANY help would be greatly appreciated!!!

HA! Just because I'm not in here to post day in and day out doesn't mean I haven't been here a while reading and gathering info! I have used this site to root and unroot my OG Evo dozens of times and love it for trying multiple ROMs.
However, I was hoping that someone else might have encountered what I have while trying to unroot the new EVO.

I had no issues at all rooting, went smooth as can be, but when I run RUU, it continually fails and says "unknown error". It doesn't even get far enough to wipe it.

No, I did not. I did not do that on my last EVO. Would re-locking through SU work for that?
It gets to where my phone reads the black HTC screen, then stops and I have to hold the power for 10 seconds to re-boot it, then everything is back to the way it was.

Is there any way I'd be able to do this without accessing BIOS, because I installed a new graphics card on my computer, and ever since, I can't get into BIOS.
It just skips over the loadup screen and goes straight to windows while it's turning on. I suppose I could actually plug it into the onboard, then boot it up from there, although whenever I do that I have to remove my graphics card or else it won't work. Ugh, any simpler solutions?
I am running windows 8.1. my computer will show phone as an adb device but when I boot into bootloader it says it is not a recognized usb device. I have loaded and unloaded tons of drivers and am having no success. I think this started after I tried to flash a new asop rom, I was stuck in voice roaming. In the process of RUU the bootloader says locked but I can still flash recoveries and roms. Some how I have data back also. Bootloader says s-off with a 1111111 cid. Not sure what happened or what to do now. any help is greatly appreciated

I have read more stuff this weekend than I have in 10 years. cant believe no one can fix this. that's why I finally posted here.
You can go into your PC settings and reboot with the driver checks disabled to install the win 7 drivers.. However on my Acer laptop the keyboard doesn't work to choose the setting in the UEFI. For whatever stupid reason... but it might work for you..
If you go to PC settings search for "advanced startup" you can reboot with the check disabled to install the drivers.

As far as I know it's simply because the HTC Drivers are not supported under Windows 8 ... The post above sounds promising, but I've never tried it before ... It's a PIA for sure and thinking either installing Windows 7 or Ubuntu just to get fastboot support is ridiculous.. Maybe we need to get with HTC on this? Windows 8 has been out long enough.. they need to support it with fastboot drivers.. right?
I found this as well... haven't tried it yet..

It's really not. I've been setting up all my computers to dual boot for at least 10 years. Haven't tried windows 8, but surely it's a pretty similar process. This guide is pretty much the same steps I've been taking http://apcmag.com/how-to-dual-boot-windows-8-and-linux.htm.
Or just make a bootable usb...
If you play around a lot with android phones, I really recommend Linux. It makes life so much easier. I'm currently running Elementary OS. I've been trying to get my wife used to it. I rarely boot windows anymore. My wife will reboot it to use photoshop or load new music on her ipod. But that's about it.
Another option is to run a Virtual Machine. I do this with Win7 and put XP inside. I have a proprietary program that does NOT run on Win 7. The system works very well.
Wow. All this really confuses me I'm running windows 8 and am having no problem with drivers or fastboot/adb..
I'm gonna poke around on my computer a lil bit, cuz at first I had a similar problem but eventually got it all figured out.. I'm not remembering right off hand exactly what I did..

I tried the elementary os on a flash drive and cd and windows 8 will not let either boot. I also chabged the bios to let each boot first. Mite try dual boot option. Have no trouble with my windows 7 lap top.
