Sorry in advance for my noobiness but.....
I have a 64 bit windows 7 computer, I was trying my best on my own to get it to work but to no avail.
Do i have the wrong set up for moonshine?
Yes kp stated you need fo run linux not windows or mac. I tok am on wondows so im also at a loss on how to get it working

what else did you guys do to do this, didi you install Fastboot or adb or anything. if so can someone help me out.
Download ubuntu and just run it off the disk and flow the directions on the moonshine site it's really easy. I'm already running sence 5 custom Rom lol
Is there any way I'd be able to do this without accessing BIOS, because I installed a new graphics card on my computer, and ever since, I can't get into BIOS.
It just skips over the loadup screen and goes straight to windows while it's turning on. I suppose I could actually plug it into the onboard, then boot it up from there, although whenever I do that I have to remove my graphics card or else it won't work. Ugh, any simpler solutions?

I've had this 3d for about 2 months. Trying to root it fir the past month. Countless hours and I still can't root it. It is running the latest ruu and had the famous 1.50 hboot. I followed the HTC unlock bootloader instructions to a t. I keep getting stuck on waiting for device in command prompt when I'm in USB bootloader. I've reinstalled the drivers and everything. One thing I noticed was that my abd file u move to the android folder is significantly smaller than what the screenshot shows. I think mines lime 130 kb and the one they show is like 400 something kb. Could that be the problem? Or cause I'm running windows vista? And where can I find the solution to this? People have followed the steps correctly and are now soft bricked. This is not a bash against the dev's of the tool, as they did an amazing job. If there is going to be an updated tool with less risk some people may want to wait, thats all.

Yep, I'm not a noob, by far. I've developed 3 roms, so I know what I'm doing, I just need to know why the code isn't sending to the phone, I've installed all the proper drivers, followed each step exactly, it just doesn't want to send the code. My guess is that there's something on the phone preventing the code from transferring over. Just because you're developed 3 ROMs doesn't mean you can't show a little manners when asking for help. Nor does it mean you didn't miss a basic step: working in IT for years has taught me that even somebody who knows what they're doing can miss something sometimes.

I know, I apologize if I sounded like an ass, I'm just getting impatient with him and I'm redirecting it towards you guys, which I shouldn't be doing, so again, I apologize. I triple checked USB Debugging, and still can't figure this out.. I ran the adb devices command, and his device didn't pop up, yet every other command (adb reboot bootloader, fastboot oem get_identifier_token) succeeded just fine. I'm confused with that, I think it might have to do with the problem, but again I could be wrong. I started over from step 1 twice, and it still didn't work. It's either my computer (which I doubt, it works fine with my phone) or his phone at this point.

Try uninstalling the drivers for the phone and get the latest drivers from HTC Sync.
If that doesn't work, try either a different computer, or if you have another OS installed on your computer (dual booting Windows / Linux), boot into the other one and try using ADB on that.

I'd like to know the answer to this too. I picked up a cheap Zeki TBDG773B for my kid and I wanted to root it to remove ads. I've tried the universal root using that sucky Moborobo program for ADB and nothing is working. I've tried an update.zip for a different zeki model and nothing.
Anyone find anything on this tablet? I've noticed other models are rooted out of the box. Tried installing su and it didn't work.
I'd like to know as well.
I did mine successfully with motochopper, search for it in here. Even though it says its for Motorola/Qualcomm it works on this tablet too. I've had zero luck finding any alternative roms though.

I don't think anyone knows. I emailed Zeki myself asking for drivers for the tablet. They said it's a plug and play device so no need (besides the point that it doesn't see my tab when I do...). Also, I need to root to rid myself of this so called 8gb storage of fail.
Sent from my TBDG773 using Tapatalk
Yeah, I actually called them and asked for them to email me a root/update zip. It took awhile to get them to understand what I wanted. They kept asking why, lol. I'll call the back this afternoon and give you folks the skinny on what they said.

OK, I rooted this thing in about five minutes-
- Download "Cydia Impactor" on to you computer.
- plug in your tablet to your cpu(turned on)
-run the program to install su on system/bin.
-DL Super su from play store.
- That should be it.
- I take no credit or any blame for your results, but hay it worked for me.

When you plug in your tablet it should down load the drive automatically. Go into about phone, click on the build number 7 times. This should open developer options in the previous menu. Go into developer options and enable USB. Have you done this yet?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
If you have enabled USB and it still won't work then its something else. Possibilities are the actual USB cord ( try using a different one) or the USB slot ( try using one of the others if you have any). What Zeki means by "plug and play" is once you plug tour tablet into the USB slot it will start to download the driver automatically. I have always been able to do this, however when booted into adb mode the driver wouldn't work. For this method however, there is no need to boot into adb. Just leave it on as is.

I have loaded and unloaded tons of drivers and am having no success. I think this started after I tried to flash a new asop rom, I was stuck in voice roaming. In the process of RUU the bootloader says locked but I can still flash recoveries and roms. Some how I have data back also. Bootloader says s-off with a 1111111 cid. Not sure what happened or what to do now. any help is greatly appreciated

I have read more stuff this weekend than I have in 10 years. cant believe no one can fix this. that's why I finally posted here.
You can go into your PC settings and reboot with the driver checks disabled to install the win 7 drivers.. However on my Acer laptop the keyboard doesn't work to choose the setting in the UEFI. For whatever stupid reason... but it might work for you..
If you go to PC settings search for "advanced startup" you can reboot with the check disabled to install the drivers.
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using Tapatalk
As far as I know it's simply because the HTC Drivers are not supported under Windows 8 ... The post above sounds promising, but I've never tried it before ... It's a PIA for sure and thinking either installing Windows 7 or Ubuntu just to get fastboot support is ridiculous.. Maybe we need to get with HTC on this? Windows 8 has been out long enough.. they need to support it with fastboot drivers.. right?
I found this as well... haven't tried it yet..

It's really not. I've been setting up all my computers to dual boot for at least 10 years. Haven't tried windows 8, but surely it's a pretty similar process. This guide is pretty much the same steps I've been taking http://apcmag.com/how-to-dual-boot-windows-8-and-linux.htm.
Or just make a bootable usb...
If you play around a lot with android phones, I really recommend Linux. It makes life so much easier. I'm currently running Elementary OS. I've been trying to get my wife used to it. I rarely boot windows anymore. My wife will reboot it to use photoshop or load new music on her ipod. But that's about it.
Another option is to run a Virtual Machine. I do this with Win7 and put XP inside. I have a proprietary program that does NOT run on Win 7. The system works very well.
Wow. All this really confuses me I'm running windows 8 and am having no problem with drivers or fastboot/adb..
I'm gonna poke around on my computer a lil bit, cuz at first I had a similar problem but eventually got it all figured out.. I'm not remembering right off hand exactly what I did..

I tried the elementary os on a flash drive and cd and windows 8 will not let either boot. I also chabged the bios to let each boot first. Mite try dual boot option. Have no trouble with my windows 7 lap top.
