[Collection/List] Boot Animations Thread - Nook Color Themes and Apps

Just so you guys know, not all of these were made by me. The ones I didnt make I have tested on my nook too and they look very good. I have increased the resolution to improve quality on a few.
Hey guys, I just wanted to make an official thread so people can post boot animations they have and/or find, that look good on the nook color. Make sure your reply meets the following requirnment if you want to post an animation:
Have Either a short description (e.g. This is the stock nexus s boot animation in portarit format) or a picture or video to look at of the animation.
Other than those your free to post! Cheers!
*Note: Assume that everything on this page requires a rooted nook color. Also note that these files will need to be renamed to bootanimation.zip if you arent using a boot animation changer. I will also Update this thread from time to time to add more boot animations when I finish them. I also will take requests if you have an idea for one Ill give it a try (as long as its more or less appropriate). =P
*Disclaimer: As for this I think cwirl says it best. I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
Install Instructions:
If your using a boot animation changer you may skip these.
1. Plug your nook into your computer and (if you havent already, rename the file bootanimation.zip) place the bootanimation.zip file in the root of your SD card.
2. Using a root explorer (I suggest ES File Explorer) copy the bootanimation.zip file then switch to device storage and go to the file path; data>local or system>media (with system>media it will overwrite your current boot animation).
3. Paste the bootanimation.zip file in here and overwrite the current one.
4. Reboot and enjoy!
What Animations Are Pack #1?
1. Droid.zip: Similar to the droid Eye, but very different at the same time (my personal favorite).
2. ASUS eee pad Boot Animation.zip: Stcok asus transformer prime landscape.
3. Sony S Tablet Boot Animation.zip: Stock Sony S Tablet boot animation
4. android text.zip: Cool green android landscape text (its very hard to explain).
5. autobot blue.zip: Blue autobot symbol
6. autobot.zip: Red autobot symbol
7. decepticon.zip: Decepticon symbol
8. silverdecepticon.zip: Silver version of decepticon.
MORE ANIMATIONS COMING SOON TO A NOOK NEAR YOU!

Latest as of 06/22/2012
-CM9 Custom Bootanimations Added

Instead of putting the animation zip in >system/media, it'd prolly be better to put the animation in >data/local.
The new animation will still take affect, but without overwriting the stock file, making it easier to revert, just in case.
Update: Also, you prolly should add a step to your install instructions - renaming the downloaded file to bootanimation.zip

Thanks I forgot about data>local. I will replace that step in my instructions . At the beginning I stated the animations needed to be renamed, but thanks for reminding me of the other animation location. I use a boot animal changer because its easier.

For anyone still following this thread, I am getting ready to post a bunch more animations soon. In that pack are, custom and stock CM9 animations, custom and stock CM7 animations, and any other requests I get! If you want your own animation made, PM me and I will gladly do yours first! Cheers!

Thanks! Great share!

thx awesome

This thread is for the people who wish to have this system theme on their nook Color. I take no credit for any of the files here because none of them are mine. All due credit is given at the bottom.
*Note: Assume almost anything to do with your device on this thread requires root access! If you don't have your nook Color rooted or if you don't know what root is, you can follow the instructions here. Enjoy!

Sure Ill post them in a second on the main post.
Rows and Columns
What size should the rows and columns be?
The row sizes are 10x10. Let me know if you need any more assistance
this is definitely a damn headache but after doing it its nice, thanks
Thanks, I am glad I could help! The one update I will add to this thread is an easier way hopefully, like a restoreable backup in CWM. If you have any suggestions, I am very open to them.
i know you said you have to have cm9, but is there something like this for cm7?
Other than a desktop visualizer layuout, no. I can try to port it to CM7 but it will take time, so ill keep updates posted on this thread every now and then.
I cant seem to find the clock and email widget on my Nook do you know how to install it or where to find it.
Another thing is to make a shortcut for appdrawer to a bigger tile.
The widgts arent available for the Nook Color yet, I am talking with BroBot175 and we are going to try to get the nook color it's own device section on his website.
Ill also talk to him about making a bigger tile for the appdrawer for you. Sorry I cannot help more.
Thank you for a very fast answer
Is there something like this for cm7? I used to have something like it for my phone but I can't seem to find it again.

[How to] make a simple downanimation (lol with no animation) and community share

Quick how to--> pull the downaimaiton.zip from /system/customize/resource, add your own png's, modify the desc.txt, repackage and replace.
1. Pull the downanimation.zip from your phone or from your latest ROM download. It's located in /system/customize/resource, or download View attachment downanimation.zip (the download already has the desc.txt file modified)
2. Find your image and resize it to 1080 (width) by 1920 (length), then convert to png.
3. Make 4 copies (5 total) and rename them to power_down_00001.png, power_down_00002.png, and so forth down to power_down_00005.png
4. Depending on how many pictures you are using, modify the desc.txt. (more will be needed to make it actually animated) modify the desc.txt file change then number after the 1920 to roughly half the total number of pics.
5. Zip them back up in the file from step one.
6. On your phone using a root explorer navigate to /system/customize/resource and rename the original downanimation.zip (just in case you want to easily go back to it)
7. Copy the new downanimation.zip to your phone then using root explorer copy it to /system/customize/resource and make sure the permissions are like the original.
(alternate step 7) (pointed out by stillthisguy in post #4) If you have ViperDNA by nit then you can go into Venom Tweaks>Advanced>Custom downanimation. It will find all of your .zip files and you just choose the one you want to use.
The first request is done and attached. (be sure and rename to downanimation.zip)
Note: I'm sure there are better ways to do most of this, so as i get suggestions then i'll try to modify the instructions to the best.
I have re-sized one with deadmau5. I will start working on some more, basically start with ones I made for splash screen.
I've modified the boot up animation, and i'm sure it will be requested.
I didn't create any image, i just cut out as many as i could and re-sized it. Whoever did the original art was amazing. If you know, please direct me to a thread so i can thank them.
It is animated but not crisp and smooth like the boot up, but it needed to be quicker and small enough to share here.
I tried to Apply this through Venom Tweaks and it works. So anyone that has ViperDNA ROM can just go into Venom Tweaks>Advanced>Custom downanimation. It will find all of your .zip files and you just choose the one you want to use.
AWESOME!
jonno95,
You are definitely the man. When I get home I am going to get this going. That was VERY cool & nice of you to do this. You definitely made a fellow Android power user very happy.
The Android community is an awesome fellowship. There is nothing like it.
Thank you!!!!! :good:
That's right ! Whoever did the original art was amazing

I would have thought this thread would have gathered a lot more attention than it has, but it seems that splash screens are all the rage...

Boot Animations for 2014 moto g

Caution:::: I have today (1-18-2015) heard on the rumor mill that Motorola have used a new binary in the 5.0.2 update, this binary affects the boot animation. In effect it may only allow animations made in an mp4 format to work and causes a system crash if using the old, tried and tested format of frames of jpg's or png's. This of course fits in with Motorola's own animations which are mp4's. I can't vouch for the fact that it may be possible to overcome this by changing permissions but it seems that the new binary will have to be installed. In view of the fact that all my animations up to now are jpg's and png's I would strongly advise you don't install them on a 5.0.2 upgrade. I hope I'm being over cautious but I wouldn't want anyone to have to go through the number of re-sets that I have had to do over the past few days.
I've made a couple of animations for the 2014 moto g so over the next couple of days I'll post them to this thread in case anyone is interested. The usual disclaimer applies i.e. I am not responsible if installing these files causes your house to blow up, your cat to run away or your wife, partner or friend leave you for the next door neighbor.
This first one is CIA themed so I have made a similar bootlogo file in case anyone wants to go the whole way! The two files are easily identifiable by the names.
The "Logo" file is a flashable zip using any custom recovery (TWRP - CWM - Philz).
The animation zip has to be placed manually using any file manager you like.
First - go to ..... /system/media ..... and rename the bootanimation which is there to avoid it being overwritten. You can add the word "old" or "bak" or anything you like.
Second - copy the CIA-Anim.zip file to the folder ...../system/media ..... and then rename it bootanimation.zip
These files will work with KK and Lollipop O/S's and with all versions of moto g 2014 edition.
The PNG file shows you the Logo ..... The GIF file gives you an idea of the animation.
OK here is another one. Same as before all disclaimers apply i.e. house - cat - neighbor.
Logo file is "recovery flashable zip"
Anim file is put into ...../system/media ..... folder
JPG shows how Logo looks ..... GIF gives you an idea of the animation.
OK here is another one. Same as before all disclaimers apply i.e. house - cat - neighbor.
Logo file is "recovery flashable zip"
Anim file is put into ...../system/media ..... folder

Here's one for the Marvel Fans.
Usual disclaimer and guidance applies
Logo is flashable in recovery ..... Anim rename and place in /system/media
JPG shows Logo ..... GIF gives idea of Anim
OK as before same disclaimer and guidance apply
Logo file is flashable in recovery ..... Anim file placed in /system/media
At the moment I am holding off from posting any further anims. Before posting I always try out new anims on my own XT1064 to make certain they work and there is no possibility of bootlooping for other users. Since updating to 5.0.2 I have found problems installing new anims i.e. continuous bootlooping causing me several instances of having to factory reset and re-install the update. Until I can determine whether this is a fault on my phone or is caused by the 5.0.2 update I won't post any more. As a possible related issue, I have found that I can no longer make alterations to the "build.prop" file without causing a bootloop and crash.

[Port] [Boot Animation] Cyanogen OS 12 (Oneplus One) Boot Animation

Hey guys, figured I'd share this as I spent quite a bit of time working on this tonight (not because it should have been hard at all, but come to find out all because of a simple spacing issue, but we won't go there ). Anyways, I personally liked the new Cyanogen OS 12 for the Oneplus One's boot animation (Google it, you'll find a preview). Anyways, I simply changed the desc.txt file to be more suited to our device, and it works like a charm now! If anyone is like me and liked that boot animation and would like to give it a shot, then here ya go!
Installation instructions:
- Rename current "bootanimation.zip" in /system/media to "bootanimation.zip.bak" (or something similar)
- Copy the "bootanimation.zip" from this post into /system/media
- Set permissions to rw-r--r--
- Reboot
- ???
- Profit!
Note: As usual, I claim absolutely, positively, and precisely zero credit for this boot animation. I did not make it, the graphics, or anything else in it for that matter, I simply edited a couple lines. Enjoy!

Superhero Boot Animation For Nokia 7 Plus

This one is probably the best boot animation I have ever used. A combination of Marvel and DC comics characters, it is a must-have for any Marvel or DC fan. It has almost all the popular superheroes like Batman, Superman, Flash, Captain America, Ironman, Hulk, Wolverine and many more. Just try it once and you will never want to switch to any other boot animation ever! It will definitely flaunt your device and set it apart from others. People will start noticing it as soon as you start using it. And they will probably be surprised how did you do this magic! Just kidding! But yeah, you will definitely start getting questions like "How did you do it?" "Please help me getting it" etc. Just smile and make a face like "Hey it's a magic"!! Try it to believe it.
Requirement:
1. A rooted Nokia 7 plus device (International version)
2. The bootanimation zip file given below.
3. Common sense and patience.
Instruction to use:
You don't really need to flash the zip file. I will make it very simple for you. Just download the zip file from the given link. The zip file will be like "bootanimation.zip". Now just open ES file explorer or any file manager with root access. Now locate the downloaded bootanimation.zip file and copy it. Now go to /system/CDA/600WW/Power-on-animation and you will see there is already a bootanimation.zip file. That is your current boot animation zip file. Just rename the current bootanimation.zip to bootanimation.zip1 for future reference and now paste the downloaded bootanimation.zip file that you copied earlier. Now just restart your device and enjoy all the superheroes on your device. Please note, it won't replace the stock "AndroidOne" splash screen that shows at the beginning. If you want to get rid of the Nokia tune at the starting, just remove the Power-on-Wakeup.wav. Once you set up the new bootanimation, don't forget to give it rw-r-r permission.
If you like the boot animation, don't forget to hit Thanks. It would inspire me to give you more cool boot animations like this.
Note: If you want to see who are all the superheroes there waiting to be unleashed, just download the zip and unzip it to see all the images there.
Disclaimer: Any changes to /system will break OTA update. Hence, you are requested to either take a complete backup of your device or get ready to sideload OTAs manually. I am not responsible for device bricking or bootloop.

U can better make a Magisk module for this to avoid OTA issue
