Hey guys,
I port cm7 to HTC explorer, but rom is not booting because of wrong kernel(not for that device.). I have to build one from source and it has to be aosp. Can someone help me? Or make a proper guide?
Thanks!

you can try adding files from htc kernel from htc dev to cm kernel i think its easier to compile it from cm, but im not sure it will work just by copying and without any modifications.

Hi guys.
as some may know that the new 2.1 rom for the hero doesn't contain things like friendstream etc etc..
but there has been roms such as VR5 and 6 prior to the official release to which contained these which were ported from the legend or Eris or some other Sense UI rom.
I was wondering would it not be possible to extract the kernel from the official rom and dump it in one of these other roms and try cook around this?
As i'm not a dev i don't know how possible this is, but i was just wondering as the Kitchen from here and theunlockr has an option to use a kernel from another rom into a rom that you are cooking.
Be pretty cool to take a Runnymede Rom and port it to sgs2.
Is it possible ?

Yes possible, will it happen? Not if you don't do it yourself.
Aslong as it can work with an existing kernel yes I can do it myself and release it in the sgs2 Rom dev thread. I am no stranger to Rom dev, but I cannot do any meaningful kernel dev.
If I need kernel support, any kernel devs willing to lend me a hand ?

Stumbled upon this

Well if they have been at it since then it must be allot more complicated than simply porting. Might be above my head
Im porting one n i need a lil help. How can i port a sensation kernel to work with a rom im porting? Is that possible to get it working or will i have to edit the current kernel we have?
Need to edit the current kernel. You can try and help with the other ports currently in the making. Just ask the respective developers if you can help with the development of it.
Wait....I sent this with Tapatalk?
im already ahead of you , all mine need is kernal tweaking, but it is really hard since there is no True ICS kernal yet
EDIT: if you want once our Sense 3.6 from HTC is released maybe we can help each other and port a rom but for now dont waste your time
Hello,
I h2o64 and I'm new to xda.
Today I am here to talk about the Samsung Galaxy Player 3.6.
I recement ask to install CyanogenMod BUT it is not compatible with the device (probably because it's an mp3), after a long search I found that the Samsung i9000 (very similar to the Galaxy S Player 3.6) is compatible with CyanogenMod him.
So I said: Would it be possible by changing a few lines of code to create a CyanogenMod for Galaxy S Player 3.6?
Can you tell me if this has already been accomplished opera? See even if we could accomplish it?
Then I'm French and we do not really excel in computing and the owners of the 3.6 Player deep desire to go further than TouchWiz. I know sites that share the results of this post and I would to do a joix
I hope we do good work.
thank you
I think the quickest way to go about it would be for you to learn how to do it and do it yourself Seriously, we can't even root the sucker, forget about importing CM over from another device! It would take us forever. SG 3.6 community is small and we don't have any advanced developers in it.
Hello,
I know how to build CM AND AOKP from source
And I know how to build CWM Recovery!
And I know how to root this device from recovery but I first need to build proper CWM Recovery
But this device is difficult to develop with

I have the us version (capacitive home) of this player with the rooted stock rom. Is there anything that I can do to help with development?
The 3.6 does have clockworkmod. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=39320660

Now, I think we can create android 2.3.7 aosp and cyanogenmod 7.2 rom.
I have been between phones a lot so I have gotten use to porting features, apps, roms...etc, but now i would like some help. My issue is not getting a CMX (cyanmobilexperiance), rom ported i used my common sense of the android file system when porting, (kernel, lib, xbin, build.prop....etc) and a guide found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2163796 the base rom was CM7.2 stable, the ported rom was, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2100945 which is for the mytouch 3g/g1, comepared to our Aria is both MDPI and ARMv6, so whats the deal?
more info: it flashes, but hangs at htc, not at bootanimation.
thx, Carlo
