I am using the OpenOptimus Rom 2.202.1 and clockworkmod recovery.
The Mobile was in charging state when this happened. It noticed it was in boot screen so i removed the charger and then removed the battery and restarted.
Now should i reflash usign KDZ or is it possible to revive my system back to normal without reflashing.??

Basically on a windows machine you download kdz updater and uncompress it as it is a zip file.
Download from here.
This is what I did on an xp laptop.
I had to down load the drivers from the official lg site. when here you enter the code that is on the box the phone came in or under the battery.
Chose the your county and laguage from the drop down box at the top right of the dialogue box. Then from the middle you can choose the drivers. For some reason I had to find the files and click on them to install the driver.
Ok once you decompress kdz updater there are three seperate files to work with. 1. windows enabler. 2. msxml.msi 3.KDZ_FW_UPD.exe
You will also need to download the right file to restore with,You can find it with google.
Please check here the The_ERROR thread wich explains it very well:
[ROMS] Original LG Firmware list.
Install msxml now.
Now you have to boot the phone into rescue mode. On Lg Optimus One turn phone off even if it means taking out the battery.
Press power - volume up - back (this button is next to the home button).
Connect to usb now.Computer found new hardware and installed four drivers.
Then open device manager. Left click my computer - properties - device manager. You need to disable the lg modem driver. Left click on it and disable.
Now launch kdz updater. There will be a drop box on left set to 3gspt or similiar. on the right drop box set to diag. The long box just above the info box with a file at the side lets you browse to find restore file. e.g. V10a.00.kdz.
Double click the button below and let it do it's thing. Took 15min. My phone shut down and came up with an error at the last minute. Anyway I rebooted and all was good.
Everything was the way I left it. Just had to re-root.
My only real problem was getting the kdz installer to see the phone.
After installing the drivers restart pc. If it finishes quickly and just before saying finished it says phone not found try removing all phone related drivers including nokia pc suite and the lg suite and remove and reinstall the drivers.
Hope this is of some help to you.

I had the same worries coz my pc did not detect my device at all..
I was trying to get pass the Fastboot mode.. But in the cmd when i tried to erase and re-install recovery it said waiting for device.. Luckily and finally after many tries i could enter emergency mode. Only then the phone got detected but fastboot didnot work there.. The Only way out was to Do the KDZ flash. I flashed the indian GB V20b and did a hard reset now. Flashed recovery and for now have left it with the stock rom..
I wonder now this problem arises due to custom roms.

this problem was cuz didn't perform the steps carefully.
This can called bricking but not fully . As it can be recovered.
Bricking is when your phone is as useless as a brick.
FLASHING CUSTOM RECOVERY (CWM) FROM LGMDP
FOR LG P500 / OPTIMUS ONE ONLY
This method works for all unrooted p500/optimus one and p500/optimus one devices stuck in emergency mode.
DO THIS ON YOUR OWN RISK, I WILL HAVE NO LIABILITY IF YOU BRICK YOUR PHONE !!!
download lgmdp : Download here
download clockwork recovery (5.0.2.0): Download here
1. disable lg modem ( in device manager->modems)
2. now connect your phone to pc. (If phone not booting into rom connect in emergency mode, turn off phone and press (volup+return+power) buttons simultaneously)
3. start lgdmp
4. click "select port"
Phone will be automatically detected press "connect"
(close the pop up window of image select generally you will get it on connect of lgmdp)
5. backup nv for safety (tools->nv backup) {ignore this step when phone connected in emergency mode, i did ignore this and found no risk of loosing nv}
6. extract downloaded recovery into a new folder
7. select the extracted recovery folder as "image folder or select image" in lgmdp
(it gives some errors as other files are not present, donot worry as we are only flashing recovery those 2 files are enough, files "recovery" and "partiton" will be automatically checked and others gray out)
8. Close the selection window and press "download" (in main window of lgmdp)
DONOT DISCONNECT YOUR MOBILE UNTILL IT SHOWS DOWNLOAD COMPLETE AT BOTTOM
it shows in middle trying to connect to phone etc. donot touch the phone it will be automatically connect everytime.
AFTER DOWNLOAD COMPLETE your device should boot into recovery
1. switch off your device
2. pressing (home+vol down+power) buttons simultaneously should boot into recovery.
now install whichever rom you want and enjoy
Tested on O1 having baseband v10 and v20 also, from normal boot and emergency mode as well and it works.

Tell them you were updating phone through official lg tool software updater, the phone went to emergency mode during process, it shutdown and it didnt power on since then.
They wont ask a single question after this. All the best
(I did use the same explanation)
Heyy, so when I do this(note I am stuck in recovery mode on the phone), it says Error can't open serial port, reboot and restart. Every time I click download to put the recovery in it it does this.

I tried from another computer, it's doing the same exact thing. Any other ideas?
Thats what happens when I click download, when I click Select Image, nothing is happening at all. In recovery should I be mounting anything?(data, sdcard, cache, system). Or should I be mounting the USB Storage? I am just baffled, I must be doing something simple wrong, as it seems pretty straightforward.

I think you are not selecting partion.mbn, download the recovery zip once again and follow below:
there are 2 files in zip, recovery image and other is partition.mbn.
Make sure both the files are selected and ticked while image select.
partition.mbn will be selected in partition table,
recovery.img will be selected in recovery image,
then close the window of image select and press download.

Don't forget to disable the LGE virtuial modem with tools in the LGDMP after it "sees" the phone(leaving the other LGE modem active) (that is the LGDMP)Also after the disable cmd do not restart your computer(mine suggestes this after).Select your image zip the p500 partition table is included there. You will get about 4 or 5 error windows just ok click them away (ignore) and run download. It takes a short time and then pauses a min. and continues.DO NOT disconnect or stop/cancell anything untill you get a red DOWNLOAD COMPLETE!..I used this a couple of times and feel it a very safe way to flash

yes , but i didnt test it.
try it by replacing clockwork's recovery.img with amonra's revovey.img in folder u get after extracting the zip of clockwork provided in thread.
(i mean use partition.mbn from clockwork zip in thread and amonra recovery.img and flash with lgmdp)

Ok, basically I wanted to downgrade to froyo in order to reflash mikos rom to have data and gsm, i downgraded with KDZ, all went great, but when i tried to boot it just blocked at boot animation i mean it took forever (Well i waited ~10 minutes twice or 3 times) and I said, hm okay i will try to use kdz again maybe it will work, when i tried to use again KDZ to update the rom (still the same rom tho) i got an error and when i reboot the phone it goes directly to emergency mode. If i try to use KDZ updater it says that the phone is not found, if i try to use lg software update agent (i think thats the name of the software) it also can't found the phone.
I installed many lg drivers from many sources but when i installed lg drivers from lg update agent thingy it bugged my pc internet connection(is working now) and now im writting from fedora (linux). If i try here to use trough wine KDZ still no luck, maybe i will try with my 2nd PC with windows xp to do it but i donno if it will work i guess not. (tried earlier, don't ask )
So is there any way that i can bring my phone back to life?
Thanks in advance
later edit: yes i disabled modem driver, also tried with it on, still no luck
later later edit: LG software update see my phone but at "analysis" it says "please disconnect he cable from your cell phone in order and remove and connect the batter. power on your cellphone and press the restart button to resume update" i did that and after i press "the resume button" it loads and say that again...

Remove your battery, push it back in.
Do a hardware reset -> home + volup + power.
Then try KDZing again.
Remember, after KDZing do a hardware reset again after the process is done.
Sometimes reinstalling the USB drivers does the trick.
Also, some users reported that on 'shaking' [yeah it sounds weird but its true] your phone, it gets recognised by the PC.
i flashed clockworkmod recovery from rom manager and then tried to boot in recovery but the p500 stuck on lg logo.
i tried to remove battery and then placing again but it wasn't starting.
pls help me i think my phone is brick or something like that
can you try what you find here: http://androidforums.com/getitnowmarketing/330813-all-one-recovery-thread.html
I've experienced the same thing long back, it happens when recovery gets damaged...don't worry, the phone is not bricked...I recovered it by flashing back official firmware by using KDZ...

well i am saying that be sure to enable usb debugging in future for the time just use the method to revive your phn back ,when ur phn is on just be sure usb debugging is enabled and than flash recovery using any method u r comfortable with, use the lgmdp method its safe and kdz flashing is used the shaking method when the phn is in dead condition as ur phn boot to lg logo so the lgmdp method will work even the kdz but the later one is bit risky.
Get lgdmp (firmware flasher) on PC
Link: http://*******/5v3zU
Open lgdmp.exe
Disable LG modem
Device manager -> modems
Go to emergency mode first.
For that:
Power off phone (even if by taking out battery) -> keep press volume up+back button and press power button.
Now u will enter emergency mode
In lgdmp click select port
Phone will be detected automatically -> press connect
Close the pop-up window that shows to select image file
Backup NV
Tools -> NV backup
Download recovery
Link: http://*******/5v3tT
Unzip the downloaded recovery into a folder
Open the extracted folder as the image folder in lgdmp
It will show some errors. Don't mind and just close the image selection window
Now press download in main window of lgdmp
It will flash recovery to the phone
After its complete u can boot to recovery by keycombination menu + volume down when pressing power button
Hope it will help

Completely switch off your phone
Press Power + Home button
It will boot into fastboot mode and then just follow the method as shown on the thread (link that you mentioned)
Make sure to download 5.0.2.0 CWM recovery image from here
Two things that i wanna advise you about
1) Read that thread very carefully, understand what you are doing and follow each and every command.
2) Make sure to rename the download *.img file to recovery.img
Note that .img is the extension and not to be included in name
I'm sure this will help
Once done, type in fastboot reboot and wait for the phone to boot to the previous instance, where the phone was before this happened
Avoid using 5.0.2.7; its buggy

Nice to hear that it helped others out too
I suffered from this about 20 times but it took me 2 minutes to recover back
Hey folks,
its bricked due to FOTA (I think it stands for: firmware over the air) update. This means the phone downloads a firmware update without computer connection or further PC-Software. Alas it didn't work.
Situation:
Phone starts, displays LG Logo and after that an 'updating firmware' screen for about 1 sec before rebooting and doing it all over again.
What I tried to solve this:
set up a new Win 7 32 bit machine to try to unbrick it. (drivers didn't work correctly on 64 bit) at least the MCCI driver update didn't)
connected the phone with the PC in Emergency Mode (holding VOL_UP + VOL_DOWN + PWR while USB is connected)
downloaded B2CApp (LGSupport Tool) and installed the device drivers for Emergency mode.
disabled the Android(Modem) dirver
downloaded V10D_00.kdz from LG home page
using the phones IMEI and this link:
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/csmg/b2c/client/auth_model_check2.jsp?esn=IMEI_NUMBER_GOES_HERE
This gave me this link
http://csmgdl.lgmobile.com/swdata/WDLSW/LGE720/ADEUBK/V10d_00/V10D_00.kdz
I'm German so this seems all right, but I'm no expert
installed msxml
ran KDZ_FW_UPD_EN and tried CDMA in CS_EMERGENCY Mode
A bunch of magic happend until the phone restarts during the process and is right back where we started, if I put it back to Emergency Mode while KDZ_FW_UPD_EN is still running the process finishes, but to no avail.
The log of this try is attached.
Where I am stuck now:
phone:
runs in Emergency Mode
is recognized by KDZ_FW_UPD_EN as well es LG Support Tool
Flashing via KDZ_FW_UPD_EN finishes
Flashing yields no result.
What else did I try
download V10C_00.kdz, as well as V10A_00.kdz from LG site and tried those with same result as with V10D_00.kdz
tried 3GQCT Type instead of CDMA
Wild guesses by me:
I need a different KDZ_FW_UPD_EN version, maybe different dll. I got it from here somewhre in a LG P500 related topic.
I messed up the driver install or need a different driver
LG hates me personally and planted this whole brick specifically to get to me.
The device really is permanently bricked, so I did all I could and there is nothing more to do? That would be sad, I hope I'm wrong here.
Additional Info:
The phone is not rooted and has never before been flashed. It ran with the same stock firmware since it was unwrapped.
The phone was not interrupted by power-loss during FOTA update.
The [read phone information] tool from KDZ_FW_UDP_EN crashes every time, maybe this tells somebody where things go wrong
Any help is appreciated. Ask for more info, if you need it.
Update - What else did I try:
I got the LG Support Tool to flash the Emergency Recovery all by itself runs till 99% --> reboots --> still stuck in same ol' bootloop
reentering Emergency Mode from the bootloop makes the Emergency Recovery finish with 100%, no error, but still bricked.
