Viber please redesign viber for android where the Exit button is a button on the viber launch bar maybe remove Recent button inplace for Exit button. To exit an app there should not be I feel more then 2 action to exit the running app...So far its four action to quit ie. click on viber desktop icon> click onto MORE> now have to sroll down to Exit and again click onto Exit tab... Why suck a drama to quit this program?
@Nyssa1104 -
The reason we made the Exit button so "complicated" (allegedly) to get to, is the fact many users who are not technical users as yourself got confused and accidentally exited the app, then came complaining to us about it.
You have to remember that the great majority of Viber users worldwide are "simple" users who will have trouble understanding why Viber was "all of a sudden" shut down. That's why we located the Exit button relatively "inside" the app, thus both sides are satisfied.

Hi, just noticed this recently on my S3. I have viber running on it. Whenever I get a call on viber, it doesn't seem to vibrate the phone. I have checked the necessary settings but haven't managed to get it working..
I have a HTC Desire HD, I can surely say that when a calls come in on viber on it does vibrate the phone..
Has anyone else come across this situation?

I'm running factory JB Samsung Rom and have the phone rooted.
I have tried uninstalling it and have done a reinstall but haven't had any luck with getting viber to vibrate the phone when a call comes in through it..
I have also checked this on my friend's Galaxy S3 which is running factory JB Samsung Rom and it's not rooted. Viber doesn't vibrate the phone when a call comes in either. The same goes for my sister's Galaxy S2 which is running Stock ICS Rom from Samsung.
Thanks for acknowledging the issue. Hopefully you guys fix this soon.

Done, I've logged the issue, hopefully there's a fix to this soon.
No Vibrate
Not unique to Viber, I reported this about no vibrate when message received in silent mode despite vibrate being turned on. This is only the case when updated to stock JB and not on ICS hence one of the reasons I have rolled back to ICS
Also my contacts don't update with Viber, I got a lot of friends on viber but it only shows 6. Update contacts don't work also.
Doesnt vibrate and theres no sound..have been like this for a few days now..I have changed my rom a couple of times the past week and havent seen any changes in viber. I have an i9300 and my cousin has an i9250 running stock rom and not rooted. I have experienced the same problem in it also but not all the time. Also there is a bug with the proximity sensor.

The source of this issue could greatly vary. Please read this short page in our HelpDesk, outlining some possible workarounds that will help reboot synchronization of the contact list: http://bit.ly/rRtPqk
(The instructions refer to iPhone, but are relevant to all phones nevertheless).
@ahmedmaaiee -
Are you sure both of you are running the latest version of Viber installed? Did you make sure no other app is colliding with Viber?
The proximity Sensor issue, for example, should have been fixed many versions ago.

yep! I've checked. we are both using the latest versions. only my i9300 experiences the proximity sensor issue. not all the time. it shouldnt be colliding with any other applications as I havent installed much after the last flash.
Edit: the proximity sensor issue was fixed a month ago or so but after a recent update it started again.

Still haven't received any update
We are still at the last stages of development and testing of our new update for Viber for Android. We are doing the best we can so the update is released as soon as possible, but we also want to make sure it's not released half-baked and with bugs.
We hope to have good news for our users soon.
has anyone got calls to work with viber and any of the 4.2.2 roms? Messaging works great but when call there is no sound at all. Regular non vibercalls work its just in the app and on 4.2.2. On padawan 8 it works fine
If anyone knows a solution woild be appreciated as i love the 4.2.2 roms

Hi guys,
This is Viber's rep.
@jettlee29 - It sounds like the typical Custom ROM issue - some custom ROMs alter the microphone definitions of your phone, causing Viber not to recognize the phone's microphone properly. That is the reason that Viber cannot transmit your sound to the other side. We discussed this issue in detail with our users in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25865775#post25865775
Please note that in that thread, a workaround was suggested *by a user* (and not officially by us) that seemed to have solved the problem for Galaxy S+S2 users.
Let us know if you have any issues.

the fixes in that other thread dont do anything unfortunately.
its with all cm 10.1 roms, as CM is like a super popular custom rom i figured it would work but i guess not, are u guys looking into the issue on CM or not gonna mess with it? ill start lookin for another voip app i guess if not lookin into it

Please note that at this stage we don't officially support custom ROMs with Viber. Running Viber on a custom ROM results in various side effects (sometimes total lack of functionality), but we can't afford to support all custom ROMs out there
We are continuously working to adapt Viber to more and more ROMS, but meanwhile - you might want to contact the ROM developer for further support - they may be able to resolve this issue. In addition, it would be a good idea to test Viber on Stock ROM on that same phone, in order to see if that indeed is the source of the problem.
i am currently using a custom rom (padawan 8) and it works fine, worked fine on stock ATT rom too, just wanted it workin on CM10.1, i am going to try it on my nexus 7 to see if it works there on cm10.1 to see if its just note it wont work on
i figured since CM was one of the biggest if not biggest custom roms, viber would support it
appreciate your help anyways though!

As we said, from time to time we try to adapt to some ROMs, but unfortunately it is not a 'strict policy' and as a whole, we don't officially support ROMs
We will wait for news from your testings with the different ROMs, hopefully good news
yeah, same for me, tried all the fixes and different kernels but nothing seems to work.
Can't run 4.1.2 ROMS as they have so many issues but on 4.2.2 Viber just doesn't work.
So it's either ICS or no Viber 4.2.2 for me.

hi i got it working fine! i installed the viber 2.3.2 i think. and its all working fine. the newer vibers call function is not working in 4.2.2... thanks!

viber review
Viber is an application for smart phones which gives an instant messaging platform to the users and is developed by Viber Media. Besides text messaging and images, it also allows users to exchange audio and video messages. It works on both Wi- Fi and 3G networks. It was initially launched only for IPhone in order to give competition to Skype. But now it is also available for Blackberry, Android, Symbian, Windows Phone and many other devices. Its functionality varies for different platforms with Android and iOS being the first to receive all the new features on other viber review

I suggest 2 ideal:
+ Add Send voice message function to viber - by adding "Send voice message" button beside "Send Location" - I think this is really most interesting function.
+ Please increase volume in call, It is really too low. Or Please add In-Call Volume for easy controlling.

I have the same problem too with a HTC One X on official stock and on Revolution HD
The volume is much too low, I made a uninstall as there is no way to use it.
Yesterday a friend of mine got a call on his Iphone 4 and the sound was great..
I think Viber does not focus on Android or Windows as the app on my laptop has also a low volume..
I again use Skype and whatsapp on my HTC.4
If Viber wil solve the problem I will be happy to install it again..
Cheers to all, Peter

That is true. However, details (and possibly even logs) from your specific phone and configuration might be unique in order for us to understand the problem.
We are of course investigating the problem at the moment regardless, but we always invite our users to report issues and give the details of their specific phones to our Support Team so we have as much information as possible that might speed up the fixing process.
Note that version 4.0 is just around the corner, so we would appreciate if you could let us know if the problem persists there.

Anyway, this discussion is pointless since tigrouzen just found a solution, and volk and him are working on an implementation in both AOSP and CM10.1.
There's already an experimental kernel published in the AOSP thread with a working audio in call.
