What is the point in ICS? I mean, what advantages will be there for Endusers? Is it just the Fact that it is possible to develop it? What will it mean for those (like me) who don't know much or nothing about this?

They say its one OS both for tablet n phones.. combines pros of gingerbread and honeycomb ...
--> hardware acceleration by default ( i think )
--> better multitasking
--> new UI ( smoother )
--> new font
--> better browser ( read somewhere )
--> face unlok ( NT FOR ACE USERS )
--> updated camera
--> nfc

If by "nfc" you mean near field communication technology, the ace will never have that because it doesn't have nfc chip.

I didn't mean to offend you, i'm sorry I just made it clear so there won't be people hoping for nfc magically appearing on ace
The only thing i'm actually looking forward from ics is a faster and smoother phone. For our ace all the other stuff don't really matter since it can't support them.
It's like saying the new windows for pc will recognize up tp 16mb ram....but my pc can't have more than 4mb (random example, i don't know how much ram windows 8 will recognize)
Still, "our" devs working for ics on ace are awesome and they got a difficult task in their hands.

Ok, it looks I've fixed the "random restart problem" related to baseband.
- Flash stock KPP via ODIN
- Format /system in CWM, wipe data
- Flash ICS
Now I'm running on Alpha 10 + KPP baseband without any problem.

I've tried KPH, but I'm getting reboots with this baseband, too.

wayland says its faster than 4.0.1 but animation lags .... he is fixing it and hopefully it will be better than 4.0.1 when fixed........ but 3g is working in his and not in slaid's 4.0.1......

iam srry i asked wrong way really srry i need to flash cm9 or cm10 but everytime i do there is no mobile data and i don't actually know which gapps packge to pick for the cm iam downloading so which one stable and mobile data working in ? and which gapps packige to download ? and is there any good rom in gaming multitasking and have mobile data working ? srrry again i asked alot but iam noob forgive me please ^_^ if u forgive me and decided to lead me the way my phone is sola thnx again and srry for being noob

Both cm roms have mobile data working, maybe you get problems because you didn't install gapps, not sure though.

thanks , but actually no cm roms working expect ultimate rom v2 with me and gapps included and there is no mobile data any way , which one more stable or u advice me to install cm9.1 or 10 ? and please if u could give me a download link for it and just to be sure the gapps ^_^ i will appreciate this and thanks again :laugh:

cm10 and cm9.1 need unblocked bootloader to work.
If you haven't unblocked bootloader will not run. Here is the link on how to unblock: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1527159
As for which version is better, cm9.1 is stable cause cm10 is on development phase so i suggest you to wait till you pass to cm10.

it's alot i know but , i have already this fxp version which i installed once and worked for first time then i tried wrong gapps it's installed but was force closing then i tried another then it's not booting , now i started fresh flashed stock ics , and flashed the rom and flashed gapps then wipe , reboot it's booting but gives me unforuntly settings stopped working , and i have to flash stock again cause i can't get out of this error so what i have to do ?

1)flash stock ics
2)Download fxp216. Copy the rom on your phone.
3)Download gapps for cm9 from the link i sent you and copy them on you phone.
4)Extract from fxp216 the boot.img and flash it using fastboot mode.
5)Enter in cmw.
6)Wipe cache, dalvik cache(advanced menu) and personal data(factory reset)
7)Flash fxp216 and gapps
8)Reboot.
This way should work fine
Am using projectx rom...its really awsm for gaming...and super smooth and fast. Bug free..super battery backup...and much more

i installing it exactly like u said but no luck , and i tried Project GX Gaming , It's stuck on sony Boot Logo Restarts Over And Over , i got back to Ultimate Rom v2 cause it based on cm9 and u said cm9 have Mobile Data so i tried to fix the issue and i founded the problem was the manual setup of my network internet connection , i flashed the stock rom downloaded the mobile data setup info online and put it in text , then installed the rom and put the info i have saved and it now works Like Boooom , the thing that was making me think the issue is the rom cause i called the customer support of my network and they gives me incorrect info omg they sucks thanks very much for helping me guys u are great ^_^ :good: :fingers-crossed: if u can tell me how to stop programs from auto start or which program to use it will be awesome

Is there any rom with good battery stats, leds working and no bugs? I'm looking for this since i join this site. I test all but something make me unhappy.
You can try out stock jellybean bu the developer who made it for your device, its a very decent rom and it has just 1 bug which is that the frontcamera doesnt work at all.
If you want a MIUI rom try out my rom xMIUI, its stable enough for daily usage.

Nothing is stable .. Jb/ GB-rock ... I am using my phone always and some basic things don't work.
I read in MIU threat : " There's a lot of bugs/lags . So i didn't use it.

hi. i have been using cm 10.1 for quite some time and it is great ,but i tried one day cm 10.2 and it was very buggy (da it is till in alpha )
so i reflashed cm 10.1 , but now i have a problem with the camera - it doesnt show at all and when i try to flash a camera zip file it doesnt do anything.
any ideas why it is doing that???
everything else works good.

First i think that your question should be in the section - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

but I would try to clear/wipe chace and dalvik and the reflash your first rom.
If that doesn't work I would do a new installation of your rom in other words wipe everything and install fresh

hello first of all thanks to iiandskater for this lovely rom.i really love this rom,hence i was using cm10 for my sk17i ,after i see this rom i tried to install it on my sk17i,i followed the steps just like ur post,first i wiped all and afterwards i flashed jv 5.3 and then dev files for mango also then gapps and keyboard but afterwards i got one bug that my hardware keys are not working:crying:.so i saw from ur thread 1) first flash jv 5,3 then 2) addons 3)key board language packs 4)flashed dev for files for mango u provided and it worked for me :good: but all of the times i was not getting wifi even i downloaded the kernel that u provieded.i really appreciate your hardwork for making this rom ,hope i will get a solution and sorry for anything i mentioned here badly because its my first post:crying:

wifi means is it wifi hotspot or just wifi
anyways many custom rom has problems with wifi so it may not work properly please contact the dev of this rom
try any 3rd party apps for using wifi that may work
its wifi not turning on, i will try to download thirdparty applications

i saw it in the dev forum also but with other device and in that one they said to flash the proper kernel for getting wifi.
and iam using the exact kernel mentioned by dev itself
hope there will be other solutions out there

yes i tried lupus kernel because it was working fine with my cm 10 and also NAA kernel and also mikes+naa kernel and also stock kernel
but all failed some wont boot up and some will work except wifi

finally WIFI is working fine in my sk17i with jellyvanilla 5.3
i installed fxps cm10.2
and i thought of trying jv again
so i first flashed kernel provided in the zip
and then
done full wipe
system,cache,and system format

then installed jv from recovery
but first i was not able to boot in to recovery but afterwards i installed xparts from the market and then clicked boot in to recovery from that
but again i wasnt able to boot in to recovery then i saw post from devs forum it happens due to minor bug in fxps kernel so after clicking boot in to recovery just need to press menu button once and it worked perfect for me

and i flashed light gapps and xperia keyboard and booted again
and my wifi was working perfectly in my sk17i
but only one issue is my hardware keyboard is not working
so i flashed the dev files for mango too
and now my hardware keyboard also working and thanks iiandskater for this perfect rom for my sk17i
keep up the good work
