After using Ice Cream Sony by Krabappel, i wanted to try other roms.
All worked fine, except for AOKP and MIUI4.
When i install these roms (of course i first flash baseband, then kernel, and finally enter cwm to wipe everything and install rom zip) everything works except wi-fi. I can turn wi-fi on, and it finds all the networks. But when i try to connect to a network, it only says 'Saved'. It doesn't even try to connect.
So, how to solve this problem?
thanks!
For clarity, i have installed these combinations:
AOKP Rom - sirkay kernel - baseband 0.70
AOKP Rom - FXP kernel - baseband 0.70
AOKP Rom - FXP kernel - baseband 0.64
(i forgot which kernel i have used in combination with miui)
Ice Cream Sony KA16 - Night Elf Kernel - baseband 0.70 -> works perfect!
UPDATE:
I decided to give MIUI another go, and downloaded the latest MIUI4 release. I installed it, including the NEO Spacious Rom Patch. Baseband is 0.70 and kernel is stock_initd_root_cwm kernel. And everything works now!
So only rom that doesn't work for me is AOKP Rom.
i think it makes more sense if i ask this question in the android development topic.
So this thread can be closed/deleted

I have two things to ask about Wolfs v7 test:
1.-After the installation of the update (v7), in settings->about phone, the compilation version says "Wolf_Xperia_6.0.0s (as if it were a stock kernel version, the one i flashed was 6.0.0c)
2.-my phone has unlocked bootloader, so i flashed DoomKernel v05a with BM 1.3 and its respective wifi module, they work fine, however, as above, in about phone, it says its the FXP version.
here's a screenshot
http://yfrog.com/ocgbip
is this normal?? Something i must say, i was con FXP 030, but came back to wolfs because of stock camera and tethering. I wiped everything trough CWM and xRecovery respectively and did a fresh install. Everything works just fine (kernel speeds and governors, wifi, FB 2.0, keyboard, etc.)
Any guesses?
Anyone? i really have the doubt, but i can't post it on development cause i have less than 10 posts
I believe you downloaded the wrong file in the first place I have been to wolf's thread as well looking for a chance to test his updated rom but all i have found was V6 firmware
I think it's just a line in the build prop that WB hasn't changed yet. It shouldn't matter and as long as it works fine, it shouldn't be a problem. I'm sure it'll be fixed when full v7 is released.
its just the test version of next release.
v7 is yet to be released
There are lot of things that will be changed on final V7 release. This is just a test version.
i just upgraded to litening rom v3.1 from v2.9 and now my bluetooth wont switch on.
i've tried various different kernels to resolve the problem, but they don't make any difference (siyah, speedmod, abyss)
currently running ICS 4.0.3
litepro kernel v2
Is there a matrix of compatible baseband/kernel/ROM configurations? I tried using sirkay's boot_9.587c - ICS - xKernel v9.587-C, flykernel0_6, and flykernel0_8, but they all caused reboot cycle (bootloop) with CM9.1 FXP 142.
I had to extract boot.img out of the FXP zip file and flash that kernel to successfully load up CM 9.1. Incidentally that kernel version is 2.6.32.9-FXP. FWIW, I was upgrading from CM7.2 RC1, updated baseband from D-64 to G-77 before flashing kernel and then CM 9.1.
Ideally I want to use the fastest kernel out there compatible with CM9.1, and one with Linaro would be ideal. Any suggestions?
Am I missing something, there's a whole topic specifically for questions ... [HELP] Q&A Thread - MUST POST ALL QUESTIONS HERE [ 1 2 3 ... Last ]
...I'm new here but it seems some people either can't read or just cba.
Yes there is Q&A thread!
Anyway for CM based ROMs you have to use CM kernel otherwise you got bootloop... i've heard AOSP/AOKP is compatible but i never tried it myself
Hi,
I have installed custom jelly bean CM 10 from this link after going thorugh forums.
-Flashed the kernel.
- installed CM 10 from downloads of CM site.
-Installed gapps.
every thing works fine including camera , internet on wifi etc but for some reasons 3G and bluetooth doesnt works after CM10 installation.
does 3G and camera supported in cm10??
Every thing works well check your network settings... Now we have stable jb roms
What kernel did you flash?
Hi,
I have been trying to look for answers in the forum but it is too confusing...My status is like this: I got the phone and installed Siyha 4, that was many months ago, if I look in About this is what I see;
- Android version: 4.0.3
- Baseband v: I9100BGLP2
- kernel v: [email protected]))
- Build number: IML74K.BGLP8
It is working, but it's showing random hangs, GPS does not work many times...and as I see there is even official support for JB, I would like to upgrade. But, I dont know what steps and even what I should upgrade. Not sure if Siyah I can just upgrade without issues, if then I can install any rom I want of top of it...etc. I would be really gratefull if somebody could tell me:
- what I need to upgrade
- in what order
then I will investigate and manage to do it myself. For example, I am after instructions like this (making them up as an example, no idea if this is correct):
1. upgrade to SiyahKernel S2-v6.0beta5
2. restart
3. install ROM cm-10.1.3-i9100.zip
I know there is no 'best' rom, just asking for advise for any JB (or later if there is stable one) rom that works well (no random crashes frquently, GPS working, I really need that).
thanks in advance!

1-to flash stock roms(tar extension) use odin or to flash custom roms (zip extention)then you need a custom recovery (eg ClockWorkMod).
2-if GPS is really matters to you, then dont flash cm10.1 is it have a known issue (gps is not working 99% of all time)see known issues for cm10.1:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Known_Issues_page_for_i9100
if you want stock rom(eg 4.1.2) look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1544487"
if you want custom rom with working gps use(in my opinion)neatrom lite:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1569686
guide to flash with odin:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671969
always check the roms with md5sum check.
Hope it helps.
thanks!
OK, so let's say I'll go with stock rom (I'll remove most of samsung crap with RootDelete)...What about Siyah kernel I installed:
- is it replaced when installing stock rom?
- if not, can I update it to latest Siyah version? should I?

yes, because every rom has a kernel, but if you want Siyah kernel, after flashing the stock rom flash Siyah kernel again.if you want to update to stock jelly bean 4.1.2 then flash latest Siyah kernel.
Sorry for bad english.
