Problem with the button 'back' on Xperia mini pro (sk17i) - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hi !
For some time, I have problems with the button 'back' on Xperia Mini Pro.
The problem is that sometimes appears unresponsive when I press the button.
I have .62 stock firmware with X Kernel, but I tried other kernel (Rage and stock).
What could be the reason? Would you happen to more people?
Thanks !

i havent experience dis... both on Stock Kernel/Rom & Custom Kernel/Rom.
am currently using NeroDroid Universal ROM with Rage Kernel!!! Maybe yhu should ftf file with flashtool & see.

I'm using stock rom + custom kernel (.62 sotck + xkernel)

Same here, but I'm stock .58
Sometimes the back button is not working, then i try lock the screen and unlock it again, it works...! But sometimes it not working again, then i do same thing, it works again...

Never had this problem.
Backup your system with CWM and then do repair in SEUS.
Use phone and check if it happens again.
If yes-go to warranty
If no - Two possibilities - Install CWM, restore and live like this
- Install CWM, restore, make necessary backups, SEUS repair again and reinstall your stuff

sometimes I got this problem too, but I wait for a few seconds, after that it works for me again,
happen on me sometimes after using Go Launcher,
but now I just use Kamarush Mini Pro Sandwich AOSP, it happens too some times...
(Sorry for bad English)

[Q] Need help! Need to reset my phone! "Phone is not working!"

Hello!
I got problem with my Xperia X10i, I donĀ“t know what to do.
Just some few hours ago i installed:
[ROM] [29-07] TripNMiUI "Iris" 1.8.3 Froyo!
h t t p ://android.modaco.com/topic/342875-rom-29-07-tripnmiui-iris-183-froyo-heading-for-20/
And it worked perfect, But then after that i installed Free Kernel 3.63 with Xrecovery like the ROM with misstake..
Free Kernel 3.63
And now my phone wont work, It starts and works to the "lockscreen" but then after that a error message pops up and stands that the system process doesnt answer after i unlock and after that it restarts. And Xrecovery wont start after the "Sony Ericsson" text.
I dont know what to do, If my phone is broke or if this can be fixed!
But please can someone help me!? I would be Grateful forever! and sorry for my bad english!!!
- Have a great day!
Here is how you get back to 2.1
Go to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
Download the flash tool and the firmware you want and flash back to 2.1 and reinstall trip's miui rom.
Did you download the correct kernel for the rom you were using? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1112745 has 2 froyo kernels. One for froyo and one for Miui.
Good luck my friend
1. Try flashing a normal kernel via Flashtool, seeing if this is corrected
2. Reinstall xrecovery before FC ? via Flashtool
3. Reinstall via SEUS ?
How can install something when i cant get into Xrecovery or connect my phone to the computer? .. My phone only can charge. Or is it only me doing something wrong? .. Im pressing the back button when the "Sony Ericsson" Text is shown. I dont know what to do

Again, go to this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
Download the flashtool:http://www.multiupload.com/GYL7A7XQBT
and the 2.1 firmware:http://www.mediafire.com/?sqv6274anzfzn2x
Install the flashtool, put the firmware in the firmware folder and then follow the instructions in the thread.
This will wipe all your data and revert your phone back to 2.1. The flashtool can root and install xRecovery allowing you to install The miui rom again getting you back to where you were before you flashed the kernel.
Oh ok. ill try this! Thanks for the help. Sorry for understand directly.
Don't worry I just hope your phone gets up and running again soon!

[Q] Trying to unlock bootloader xperia x10 mini pro

Hi all, been trying all night to unlock the bootloader following the guide on the cynaogenmods wiki page ( found here: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Sony_Ericsson_Xperia_Mini_Pro:_Full_Update_Guide )
Sadly however, i seem to fail when getting to the 4th and 5th step of the guide as what is supposed to happen doesnt happen at all when pressing and holding down the Volume Up button aswell as connecting the USB-cable to the computer on the same time.
this is the things and steps i've done and tried:
1) Tried diffrent buttons then the Volume Up button, like Back button, Menu button and the # button
2) tried having the USB cable connected to the computer first, then plug in the usb cable to the phone while pressing and holding down Volume Up button, also tried with diffrent buttons while doing this, aswell as doing vice-versa (having the USB connected to the phone first, and connecting it to the computer)
So what is the result of all this? the phone only gets into charging mode, and that's about it, either a green or orange LED starts to show aswell.
Some things worth mentioning:
I used to have a very old version of sonybread with CWM (clockwork mod) but before begining the guide i totally cleaned my phone and even re-flashed it to stock rom with SEUS, so currently my phone is using the stock rom without root and a locked bootloader (as far as i know about the bootloader atleast) and currently the phone is working as intendeed with the stock rom, but in all honesty it sucks using it and therfore i'm trying to put in a stable version of Cynaogenmod.
Also i never managed to get the fastboot comand terminal to work fully when launching it from Android\android-sdk\tools as it missed several comands, so in order to actually get the fastboot to work as intendeed i had to launch it from Android\android-sdk\platform-tools which was the fastboot that came with the SDK and not the one downloaded from the wiki's guide on how to get fastboot.
Something more worth mentioning is that it seems like the device manager can't find the phone while being in charging mode or when i do the "Volume Up button" and connect the USB to the computer thingy, however the phone shows up in device manager if its being started up or is being on.
I do however hear the "a USB connected sound" everytime i connect the phone in any way i've tried when it gets to charging mode, but then it never shows up on device manager.
And last but not least, i'm running a x64 W7 Professional machine.
Sorry for such a long thread, but want to try to explain my problem as troughly as possible aswell as everything i've tried in order to rule out as many other problems aswell.
hey friend.... that post is for mini pro not x10 mini pro...... to connect in flash mode you have to press the back button and then connect the phone via USB..... be sure u have SE tweaker tool for X10 mini pro and Drivers along with GORDON gate driver......
And to add to that the 2010 devices do NOT support fastboot, so it is no wonder it didn't work properly.
And if you tried the bootloader unlockers for the 2011 MiniPro you're just lucky your attempts failed
Try it following these instructions

I see, thanks for the quick reply.
I've decided to scrap the unlocking bootloader thing as it seems to be way more complicated then i tought. i will just stick with using the stock rom untill i get a new phone as this one his toally horrible with the stock rom.
If any mod can mark this question thread as solved and prehaps lock it if necessary it would be good, thanks.

You don't have to stick with stock firmware, in the x10miniPro development section there are a lot of roms based on gingerbread android that will run fine on the stock kernel choose one to your liking.
There's a very clean rom called Clean0.0 v6 you definitly have to check out.
check out minicm7pro.... its the best and most stable..... minicm9 is also good but the battery perfomance was really poor...

No that is total rubbish you posted
Not every custom rom needs an unlocked bootloader, you only need an unlocked bootloader if you want to install a custom kernel.
If you choose a rom that will run on the stock kernel, you only need root and either cwm or xrecovery, depending on the installation method of the rom you chose.
If a rom runs only on a custom kernel, then the installation will be done through CWM, because that's what is included in the kernel, on stock kernel you might be ok with xrecovery.

Hi I have an Xperia X10 mini pro with the code 11W25. I want to use the latest MiniCM7 custom rom (I think its MiniCM7-2.2.2) and the powerful nAa 2.6.29-14 kernel to breathe new life to this obsolete stock SE 2.1 firmware. I've been seeing posts saying codes below 11W29 is safe to unlock bootloader. I just want to make sure because I want to unlock it with confidence. Is it safe to unlock the device with the code 11W25?
I've posted this question in the X8 unlock bootloader guide and they said the rules mentioned there is not applicable to X10 mini pro. My X10 mini pro can use different SIM Cards, I mean its not locked to a certain network provider. I received it here in Manila from abroad One more thing, if I wanted to go back to stock, I can use SE PC Companion and it will bring back stock firmware and kernel right? Will it relock bootloader too? I've been watching these videos from youtube doing a guide on how to unlock bootloader and installing the nAa kernel in this youtube channel called minicyanogen(mod)
thanks in advance long live xda =)

[Q]Boot Loop in E10

Hi,
I checked the forum and try those and it didnt work.
This is the story. i try to install a custom rom to my friend's xperia x10 mini. I unlocked the bootloader. Rooted and installed a kernel Jelly Bean Mini projects kernel. Also install the apk for CWM. After i flash the JB Mini Kernel i stuck at the JB Mini logo. Entering the CWM does not worked. Then i paniced and flashed the custom kernel. Then this time it is not opened only stuck at the SE logo. After that E10i_2.1.1.A.0.6_Sony Ericsson.ftf firmware and flashed via flash tool. This time is stuck in the boot logo loop. It didnt give a chance to flash another kernel again. Opening and resetting again. ALso PC Companion Repair doesnt work because it get disconnect on doing it.
Also i tried home screen and power button to reset and then try to flash mode and it didnt allow me to do it. Do you guys any suggestion. How can i get rid of it and get back to normal.
All helps will be appreciated. Thanks.

Make sure you're talking about the right model phone, the Xperia Mini and Xperia x10 Mini are different phones. If you have the x10 Mini, then fastboot won't work at all.
Yes, CWM is available by repeatedly pressing the back-button when the kernel-logo shows, and it is included in ALL custom kernels for the x10 mini, just not on stock, so if you flash a custom kernel it is already available without any further action on your part.

U really.have my attention there. My friend have xperia x10 mini. I tried to install a custom rom on her device. But I messed things up. Unlocked the bootloader and installed jb mini.kernel and stucked on boot.logo. Then I flash custom kernel again now its stuck.on.boot logo like a loop. Seus repair wont work because it disconnects simultaneously. Also flashing a kernel didint work either. I hope somebody helps me to recovery the device. After that somehow I can install custom rom.

Yes, the JB kernel requires you to format the /system, /data and /cache partitions in CWM on first boot, otherwise you get stuck, and you'll be unable to install the JB ROM. (Mind you, if it's version 4 of Stelios97's JB Kernel, that's been reported as not working at all)
(Not sure if you're doing your friend a favour with JB just yet, not if she wants to use her phone like she does now, you might be better off with MiniCM7)
Make sure your batter has a decent amount of charge in it, and try to flash this with flashtool, it's stock firmware that should get the phone back working properly.
After that, you can try again with the custom kernel and ROM.

[Q] Xperia p restarting

Hi everyone
a few days ago i have unlocked the bootloader on my xperia p following the official sony instructions.
After that i downloaded and flashed the sliding xp v5 kernel
Everything worked perfect and i wanted to install a custom rom, and i thought that the vision rom would be perfect.
I installed the vision rom v2 in cwm recovery and everything seemed perfect, i like the rom and everything is good but i have a few problems :-/
First i had the problem that sometimes when the screen locks and turns off, when i press the unlock button the screen wont turn on,i can hear that the phone works when i try to take a ss i hear the soind, but the screen wont turn on until i hard restart the phone :-/
The second problem is that the phone just restarts itself randomly sometimes :-/
And the last thin is that when i go in the dialer to call someone it happebs alot of times that the phone lags a lot there and it happens often that when someobe is calling me or when i call someone that it lags and the phone freezes :-/
Can someone tell me why is this happening, because of the kernel or the rom?
and what should i do to fix it,if possible i would like to keep all the settings which i made because i allready personalized it much....

First that came in my mind is that this kernel and the rom are not for eachother - so try to flash munjeni's kernel and the rom again and try it.
Before that flash stock rom via flash tool to make clean install.

Thanks for your quick reply, right now the internet at my home isn't working so i will have to wait before i try it.
I have never used flashtool before so i want to ask you if anything from my phone will be deleted like apps, contacts or something else?
I have also made a backup using cwm before i installed this rom, would it be ok if i just restore the backup, then flash the new kerbel and after that the vision rom again?

First of all the flash stock rom you need to put the ftf file in Flashtool/firmwares
Then connect the device in flashmode and flash rom (device switched off and to enter flashmode just do vol- and put usb in).
When flashing official stock rom as much as i know you will lose data, and its better to have clean install.
If you flash munjeni's kernel and the rom you want, and if you restore the back up that will flash the old boot.image too, i mean the old kernel and that is not wanted.

Yeah buddy, its all in Sola section.

[Q] Phone screen turns black after unsuccessful flash

I had a working xperia mini pro running cm9, But after awhile I noticed the buttons' and screen's backlights are blinking. I also tried to slide the keyboard and the whole thing turns into a blinking frenzy. I went on xda to find help and came across this thread and decided to try it out. When I flashed the zip from cwm not only the backlight issue wasn't fixed, but my screen went totally blank. Sometimes the top-left LED will flash a purple color and the back/menu button will lit up but not the screen.
I tried flashing a stock rom hoping it would bring back my screen but it didn't work. Now I'm stuck with a black screened unrooted stock gingerbread.
I have my bootloader unlocked, tried custom kernel, stock kernel from other models, anything I could with flashtool and nothing's working. Can't root my phone using this pseudo-kernel method and nobody in xda had the same problem as mine.
If anyone could at least tell me what I did wrong or even help me work around it, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks guys.

It seems to be a hardware problem. Anyway, try to flash a compatible kernel via fastboot and then flash a rooted stock ROM via CWM. I'm not sure where to find the pre-rooted stock ROM cause I have a st15i (Mini) but there are similar devices so it's almost certain that there is one for Mini Pro too. If it doesn't work, take it to service.

I have the pre rooted stock gingerbread for mini pro but Im not sure exactly how to flash it in cwm if I can't even see the screen. Haha. Thanks very much for the response, i'll try using my friend's phone as a screen mirror and see if it works.

Please tell me the Android version of your Xperia Mini (GB - ICS - JB - CM9 - CM10 - CM10.1) so I can give you the right links. I'll be near my PC for about 3 hours. Then, I will be on vacations for the next 3 days.
