Many devs do not have the phone. If we can do some bounty threads so they can get it, it would be helpful. Anybody willing to donate money so these devs can get the Amaze. Without the phone, they won't develop. Let me know if you guys are interested in doing this. If we don't, the forum will still continue to be dead.

I'm with Mako on this. Amaze is old news. The Skyrocket and One series is where most development will go.
I've accepted that Sense/Apex will be how my phone will stay until the next HTC series rolls out after the One. It's not that disappointing, since I have it set up perfectly the way I want it.
Sense 4 isn't as exciting as AOSP or CM9. It's just a slightly tweaked 3.6. Oh well

Just my opinion..
I truely hate bounty threads. There have been previous bounty threads. One developer that X wanted to get a phone for. The bounty was achieved but I havent seen anything from said developer since the phone purchase. Not 1 Rom not one post. You guys can do what you like with your money but I'm against bounties to get certain developers money or a phone.
I'm happy with Sense and happy with the buch of talented chefs we have now..they are able to do much more than I could at their age.
If the developer can prove to the community they can fix certain things and develop more than tweak, get AOSP, CM9 or AOKP (because those are the hardest things to develop)running with only minor bugs then maybe a donation for their work wouldn't hurt.
But bounties fail...IMHO.

I'm gonna look around for some kernel devs. Many will not do blind updates.
So here is a proposition.
Is anyone willing to do bounties for kernel developers?
I don't really like bounties period :/ and we don't have a WiFi source so we can't do much even with a kernal dev

How is cm7 obsolete? Or dated for that matter, so how obsolete is stock gingerbread?? I think cm7 is a great rom, with endless ways of customizing, with tons of themes already in the market for free, is just like saying what's the point of all these Roms in our note android development forum because there all based on stock gingerbread . I think cm7 would be a great addition for those that think ginger is it and don't care much for an ics update, but that's my opinion. I wish I had the time and knowledge with a linux environment to develop cm7 for the note.

This is just my opinion and I know I'm probably going to get bashed for it, but I just don't see the development for this phone picking up. It's nothing to do with the developers we have because I think they're great, but just a matter of bad timing. With the One X and SGS3 coming out it seems to me that the developers we could get are holding out for those phones. I really wish it would pick up because I think this phone has a lot of potential. What is everyone else's opinion? Does this sound like a logical conclusion?
Maybe if this phone came it at a different time it would be a different story.

Development is delayed simply because theres no kernel source for ics on the note, so no custom kernels are holding out development, also no vendor/binary source available to build from source, I've been looking at what we need for developing cm9 but I hd some issues with my laptop so that was delayed, I'm sure once we get more sources we will see more development.

Once developers get the ics kernel source, I'm sure we will see a lot more roms popping up. I think we have enough great developers, but they need the proper tools before they can start building. We just need to be patient.
That being said, I'm a rom junkie myself...so I feel your pain....just be strong!

Mike1986, Chrispaw, HeyJoe, EclipzeRemix, NRGZ are still the only ROM devs who released anything, with the addition of Silentbtdeadly. We just got updated ROMs from our regular Devs (which are all great and appreciated).
And of course Sportstar89... Totally sorry my dude.

Pretty much how I feel. Just a bunch of themed/hacked up sense roms. That's cool for the people who want that. (no offense)
The guys in the incredible land are pretty amazing. They have a booting JB and a lot of functionality working.

I love my rezound and I loved my incredible. I just hope that rezound has a life like the incredible did. I also know there are a bunch of old inc guys in here too that might not be paying attention and want to try jb out on their old inc.

The only source getting released is the kernel, we still need to crack their proprietary RIL which won't be getting released. The additional of a 4G radio has made it more complicated then the Incredible.

There is a CM9 with partial linaro toolchain on it that you might want to check out. It seems to run really fast.

Will have to check it out. It's just running the Unofficial CM9 port right now; was running that for close to a month or so before I got my Rezound. Was surprisingly smooth.

Is there an easy way to port over roms?
There are tons of AOSP and AOKP roms for the different One X devices out there, and yet our development has stalled. There are also quite a few decent sense roms that we havent had a look at yet.
Is there an easy way to port it over? I know they use different radios and all that jazz, but there should be a way to port over the OS and keep the rest of the stuff.
Im willing to take on the task of porting over if there was some tool or directions.

Yeah, so far I'm disappointed in the lack of development thus far. I know its only been about two months but I see other new phones with so many different options already. Mean ROM, is the only one that stands above the rest so far. If there were actually development going on, wouldn't the devs post some screen
Previews or something? Its way too quiet. I'll wait a few more months but might end up giving this to my wife if development doesn't start kicking off soon. Perhaps everyone jumped to the GS3

As stated in other threads, this forum is stilll pretty young. We just gotta be patient and the roms and ports will come. Or just find a one x rom you like and ask your favorite dev to port it. Theyre all pretty cool, chaances are they porbably would when time allows.

+1 Meanrom is excellent but is a sense rom.

Thing is, these guys already do so much, and have their hand full with their own ROM's. Which is why id rather do it myself, if that was possible.
