I hate to bring you the bad news but I'm just as disappointed as
you probably will be after reading this. Long story short: in Barcelona Sony promised an official ICS update for the Xperia S
sometime in April, then it all of a sudden we woke up in May with no
update and last week Sony officially said that, well, let us quote: “Xperia
S is planned to get ICS somewhere around late May/early June. That’s
what’s been said and that’s still what we’re sticking to. Any other dates
(such as “June/July”) is just speculation. The roll out is, as always,
gradual and will not happen over night for all phones. Some phones
might get the update in late May whilst other will get in i mid June etc“.
Now it turns out that someone “mixed things up” and “they are really
sorry”. I feel sorry, for those who purchased an Xperia S( including me) , flagship
Sony Android for 2012, and it still isn’t running ICS. But it will,
eventually, in case this too isn’t a mix-up: “Xperia S will get it during
latter part of Q2“. As far as those who own 2011 Xperias are concerned,
they “will get ICS during late May/early June. Which was the timing I
mixed with the Xperia S timing“. No other comment is necessary! Hang
on there, just one more month!

I don't know what will be the difference from the ICS firmware update and this new firmware update.

Pretty sure it is a bug fix to help with wifi and GPS. Mine is running great after the update. You should be happy about 3 updates in a short period of time. Other manufactures are not as persistent or active in their support

Updates
I have had mine for a week and I haven't got 1 update not even the ICS. I guess they are so busy fixing the problems that they forgot that besides the TW,US,WW they made a DE model.

Yep, waiting eagerly for the DE update too.
ADMINS: Please close the thread, it's all redundant.
Sony warmed the hearts of its fans by announcing the company's Ice Cream Sandwich update roll-out plans back in December last year. Sadly, the wait will take a bit longer than expected, as the company has announced the Xperia Arc S, Neo V and Ray updates will be pushed back to mid-April.

Previously, the company promised the aforementioned devices will get their serving of ICS in March, but the development is going behind schedule and that's not going to happen.
And we've got even worse news for the owners of Xperia arc, Xperia PLAY, Xperia neo, Xperia mini, Xperia mini pro, Xperia pro, Xperia active, and Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman, which will have to wait until the end of May or beginning of June to receive their Ice Cream Sandwich update. Hope it doesn't melt until then...
In addition, Sony has announced that the update in question will not be pushed over-the-air. Instead, it'll be available via the company's PC Companion or Bridge for Mac suites. This was done to ensure stability and successful completion of the update once it downloads.

too bad... maybe admin should delete dis thread!
Hi there,
I just read that the ICS update for the Xperia S is not coming in June but later. That's the bad news. The good news is that it will most likely be ICS 4.0.4 instead of 4.0.3 (which the 2011 Xperia devices will be updated to).
Let's hope they release an intermediate update which fixes the missing internal memory apps.

I think i remember reading a few days ago that Sony said that the update would arrive on time and that there was a big chance that it would even be a little earlier.
Where did you read this?

On two different Dutch tech sites. To quote the Sony representative:
Re: Ics Release IN JUNE / JULY IN THIS YEAR 2012
OK, looks like I've mixed things up. I'm really sorry for this.
- The ICS roll out for Xperia arc S, ray and neo V started some time ago.
- The rest of the 2011 Xperias will get ICS during late May/early June. Which was the timing I mixed with the Xperia S timing
- Xperia S will get it during latter part of Q2.
Sorry.

Hi all, I will say it now, I am new to the S3. So don't bite my head off please I have just received a update this morning via kies. it didn't mention what it improved. And it may be just be a case of I got a certain update a couple months late or something.
All i can say is
Baseband version I9300BVLF2
Kernal 3.0.15-687481
Build number IMM76D.I9300BVALF4
I will only bite your head off if you don't take that crown over from HTC and give it to SIII where it truly belongs... lol (pointer: your signature with phone images)
yes mate its pretty old leak but may be new for you since your phone is branded

Their is an unsubstantiated rumor doing the rounds that you can update your phone to the latest Samsung firmware releases and be about ten releases in front of LF2 .
Personally i think its not true .

I've been watching for any news regarding the impending Android Wear 2.0 roll-out, and everything I read pointed to an October 15th announcement. Well, today Google released some info regarding Android 5 (Lollipop), the huge Nexus 6, Nexus 9 tablet and even the new Android TV Player... but nothing about Android Wear. Did I miss something? If not, that's a bit of a disappointment since we could really use some new features and options on these devices we investing in. I don't regret buying my watch, but I would certainly like a bit more customization on this thing.
lol looks like the 3rd

So, its delayed once again?
It seems that Google wants to release Android Wear alongside of Lollipop 5.0. With that nasty misc wifi bug that was killing battery performance, Google has delayed the Lollipop release until the 12th of November. I assume we will see Wear 2.0 the same day.
