3g suddenly dropped - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hey all
My 3g dropped after a 2-3 weeks flashing the china ICS
Is very wierd..anybody have any suggestion?

My 3g randomly dropped yesterday, came back up after a reboot. I wonder if Verizon had a glitch.
Has yours been restored?

I'm on stock, any time my 3G vanishes I just reboot and its back, the first time it happened I didn't think to do that and took it to the verizon store and the guy put in a new SIM card, I'm betting that was probably a waste of time now.

Haha..actually when im at GB back tgen ,i dont have any problem with 3g.but after a few weeks on ICS China,it just slow..

I suffer almost the same issue these days. Suddenly 3G and 2G signal drop, and after 10 seconds it restore, I have no idea of it.

I was on the original ICS leak and was pretty happy with it for quite a while. Decided to try one of the other ROMs, and almost bricked. RSD back to GB, and all of a sudden my performance and speed went through the roof. I didn't realize just how much my phone had slowed down on that leaked ROM.
As such, I have decided to stick with a full stock GB until the official ICS is released.....at least that's my decision for the time being. It could change by this afternoon, but since I accepted the 181 fw it's probably not worth messing with.
I have actually been surprised at how satisfied I have been with GB since I switched back. I'm normally on the bleeding edge and used ICS since the Galaxy Nexus, but maybe I'm just tired of reloading my phone/FW every other week.
Few random thoughts from a holiday weekend.

I don't think this is a bug with any roms or ICS. Been happening to me for a while. I'm completely stock on Razr Maxx and never rooted or flashed any roms. It's a known bug for us Razr users. Don't know if it's Motorola or Verizon at fault but it's very annoying and they need to quit messing around and hire people who can give customers satisfaction for choosing their phone and carrier.

Have you considered you have a bad device? Maybe you should exchange it first? (got another tb I mean).
I would say try and get a different thunderbolt. I don't know if they do this yet but back in the day when I was rocking the blackberry your. I had about 3 your replacements that were "bad" and finally offered me the bold. I think you need to go threw 3 device or more of the same and then they will let you get something else

Sounds like you just have a bad device. I'm rooted running BAMF 1.6 and the newest radio. I've never had a reboot.

UPDATE:
After almost three days of running this upgrade I have NO ISSUES
Verizon was having 4G problems that was causing me network problems and battery issues - RESOLVED
Rooted my phone using p3droid Root Keeper.
Are you having issues rooting this update? POST YOUR PROBLEMS / ISSUES HERE
Again, this phone and update is solid with nothing to fix. With this phone Android and Moto have arrived.
When out of the box you have a phone that works.
My next task is the get Tether working
A Guy over on the "other forum" is having major data dropping issues. I'm curious about the update and wondering why I haven't rec'd it. I'm totally stock. Went into about phone and system updates but it says I'm up to date. But I'm on .744?? Guess they're pushing them slowly as usual...

To get tethering to work with your RAZR. First download the wireless tethering app 3.1 beta 7. Install of course. Phone must be rooted. Also download rom
manager and open rom Manager and and go to. Fix permissions let that run. And the restart phone. Now tether your heart out.

I updated a moment ago from stock to stock.
So far it seems to be smoother. I meant really reminding me of the word "silky"
but I can't get Vibrant Feedback of stock multitouch keyboard to work even I ticked it at settings.
Sound feedback of the multi touch keyboard is fine.
Anyone else having issue like this?
The physical key haptic feedback when I press anything is still there. So I assume it is the software issue only.

Went and got a new SIM today and it fixed it a bit, but my signal was much better before. I'm at my work desk, and with the old update, I always had 4g. Now I'm 3g. I get 4g when I leave.

Just updated from the file on droidforums & the voodoo ota root keeper from the market works perfectly to reroot after the update. The only issue apparently is when safe strap is used because of the modifications to the preinstall partition. I hadn't moved from bootstrap yet so everything worked.

no update in my part of GA yet either.
after about 40 hours
my battery life is down with this update
my 4G is now dropping
i would not update my phone @ this point with this update
I'm 100% stock and after the update its running very smooth!! The stock launcher seems to have gotten faster?? Camera and over all performance is better. I don't know about data yet because VERIZON'S DATA IS DOWN AGAIN! but other then that its very good for me. Been running this for about 10 hours.

There have been a lot of 3G and 4G outages in the past several days. Make sure you're not a victim of that. There are DEFINITE issues this morning. I don't have the update installed, totally stock phone - and yesterday and today I have no 4G at work. I'm on a 4th floor by a window. I normally have a great 4G connection here.
Everyone Else: There's no trick you can do at this point to get the update. It's not released officially, it's only been sent out to a few beta testers. You are either going to get it by checking for the update, or not. Eventually they'll release it to everyone soon.
I'm in the same boat as mistawolfe, the update has made things much worse for me on the data side. On my way to work today, I had NO data for more than half the time, and only 3G the other half of the time. While at home, I have always had strong 4G and that has not changed after the update. But at work yesterday after I applied the update, it was the same thing, only 3G or NO data. Same today, more than half the time I have no data, and the other half only 3G. Going back and forth between no data and data is unacceptable. 3G/4G switching is fine, but this is horrible. 1/2 the time I can't even use the data. Terrible. I would not recommend this update.

Please see my post above you. There are known issues with Verizons data network this morning. There have been several issues in the past few weeks. Don't be so fast to blame your update. http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/21/psa-verizon-users-reporting-data-outages-across-the-us/

Missed that, thanks. Talk about a strange coincidence, but at least it gives me hope (Although I'm still a bit weary as it started yesterday morning for me right after the update). Anyway, will hang tight and see if things get better. Hard to believe we are having another 4G/data outage again not even 2 weeks later! Big time growing pains for Verizon

Any way to get back to gbread?

I am perfectly happy with ics but I haven't seen a thread stating if you could just rsd back to. 173 if you installed the cheesecake leak. Hopefully this will generate a positive answer from someone that has actually done it.

It does turd. Day 4 here and I'm currently RSDing right back to stock then onward to .173
Couldn't take the following anymore:
Pull down curtain becomes TOTALLY unresponsive at random times. Hot reboot required to fix.
After dialing a phone number, talking, hanging up and the going to make another call, the previous phone number I dialed is there causing me to dial a 20 digit number
Google Voice notifications do not stay in the curtain. They notify then automatically get deleted.
WiFi connectivity drops out random, dconn and reconn to fix.
Prepare for De-Turding!
...and now you know, folks, why we're apparently getting another Gingerbread update prior to ICS. Development can be fun, but be certain--Motorola knows what they're doing.

Did you do a full wipe after you installed the leak? I have a few minor issues but its still running good. Froze 30 apps though lol
My Wi-fi is bad on Gingerbread anyway.
For some reason, this Razr doesn't have the signal strength of all the other Android phones I have.
Note, while writing this message, I had a signal Drop out again ffs
Mine acted a bit strange until i did a factory reset, running zero problems since Sunday

Should always wipe after a major update like this.
I installed the ICS leak via Cheesecake and have since RSD'd back to. 173 and re rooted. Just follow the fastboot instructions and you'll be fine.

Personally, I've been very content with GB. When I started seeing all the ICS leak posts, I got curious and thought, "why not?"
I've tried it, and actually thought the leak was very nice. However, I felt better going back to stock for now as it looks like a new GB OTA will be released soon, and hopefully ICS not too far after.
Really liked what I saw in the ICS build.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using XDA
Everyone on the leak will begin to experience what I did. It's unlikely, but possibly, that I have a defective phone, so it'll happen.
I did do a factory reset, full wipe etc. and everything was incredible for about 4 days. Then as someone else so eloquently put it, ICS started to "Turd" on me.
Once it does that 100 times or so, you start thinking about "DeTurding" which is you're only option.
sadly, ICS isn't ready, nor will it be if we wait on Motorola.
Devs, start your threads! I'm willing to pay you to finish ICS!
Any chance you have a link to the files?

the cool thing though, is that we have "the" ICS base including kernel to build off of.. granted, we can't make many kernel tweaks beyond what's 'allowed' w/ a locked bootloader, but I believe having an ICS kernel directly from Moto will help w/ the CM9 builds etc..
Lots less to go wrong w/ having proper drivers etc. to work off of.
(hopefully anyway)
EDIT:.. I just fastbooted back to .173 and all seems well
I just installed ICS today, and I haven't experienced any of these problems at all. I'm curious as to how many of you factory reset after the install? Everything I've read says factory reset after install does the trick.
I absolutely love ICS! (but I'm glad to hear RSD works if I DO run into any problems)

I was trying to fast boot back earlier today and it it would get to the 5th item of flashing and give me an unknown error and fail. Luckily Matt G was able to flash back the 4G radio for me. He mentioned deleting the OEM lines will clear the errors.
I am not the greatest when it comes to command lines and all that junk. I have only ever used his utility but 1.5 wasn't restoring the 4G either. Now I have 1.51...
Is RSD just simply download the file, select the "uncompress and flash" or is there some other modification needed to flash the file?
Just hoping someone with a bit more know how can chime in.
*UPDATE:I re downloaded everything and it worked. Must have just been a bad DL of the RSD File.

Wifi on Eclipse 2.2

I just flashed Eclipse the other day after updating 418 soak and my wifi is constantly resetting every 5-7 minutes.
Is any one else still experiencing wifi drops on Eclipse 2.2?
Sent from my DROID X2 using xda premium
I had to stop using Eclipse because of no or unreliable wifi since switching to 2.3.5. Both 412 and 413, even in stock, would fail on wifi. 418 seemed better but still dropped. Back on 2.3.4 w/ CM7, and although wifi still has issues it's no where near the problems I had on 2.3.5. I just can't wait to be able to upgrade off this piece of crap that some call a smartphone.

Confusedphone I love how it drops when you leave your network, then takes three times minimum to obtain IP/connect...and usually requires reboot to reconnect. It's almost like it's drunk...takes a while but sometimes it connects other times it doesn't.
Looking for Wifi-aholic meeting.....ugh
DROID DOES, Apple did...like I forgot when
I'm having the same problem. Mine is resetting alot to. But I'm on the Verizon update they just pushed last night the 2.3.5..

Droid Razr Maxx, not receiving OTA and connectivity issues

So I recently Rooted my device about 2 weeks ago and it was going pretty good, Then verizon released the OTA kitkat 4.4 and my phone has hit a wall of problems. First Thing I noticed was my Play store will not connect, a few of my apps keep saying they aren't installed, I still cant get the OTA, Im on stock rom btw, and my 4glte and wifi stay completely white not turning blue ever anymore. I deleted some bloatware is this keeping me from the OTA. Any ideas on what I should do?
Maybe not the most ideal solution, but hard reset will get you back.

Is your maxx xt912 ? If so I've read xt912 will not get OTA to kk.
