Dear Xperia mini / minipro / active / LWW / etc. owners,
as far as we know the ICS update for these devices are planned for early June.
There are several comments about ICS update HERE you should check out, for example:
Our Ice Cream Sandwich update will be available for the remaining 2011 Xperia smartphones from the last week of this month.
I hope that’s useful!

Our next update will be Android version 4.0.4 – we’re working to ensure all the bugs are ironed out, to deliver you the best possible ICS experience.
Once you’ve got it (it’ll become available very soon), please pop back to let us know how you’re getting on.

And yes, you've read it correctly: the start of ICS update for mini / minipro / LWW / active / etc. IS PLANNED NEXT WEEK!
Unfortunately, as far as I know, they won't release it with 3.0 kernel , but if they really want to "deliver you the best possible ICS experience" then probably later there will be a kernel update. (Hopefully.)
Will update this thread when there are new news about the update.

Kernel 3.0.8 for ICS 4.0.4!!!!
The Ice Cream Sandwich update that is rolling out to some of the 2011 Sony Xperia family brings with it Android 4.0.3 using the 2.6.32 kernel. Many have been wondering why Sony Mobile is taking so much longer to release ICS for its 2012 flagship, the Xperia S. Well judging from a snapshot of a leaked ROM the reason is likely to be that Sony is updating the Xperia S to Android 4.0.4 rather than 4.0.3.
The snapshot of the leaked ROM comes from the Xperia NX (SO-02D) – the Japanese equivalent of the Xperia S. It shows that the handset is running Android 4.0.4 and an updated 3.0.8 kernel. The firmware build number of this version is 6.1.A.0.405. Hopefully the firmware will bring with it better power management and hence longer battery life.

So i hope that other models too, would get a kernel update when ics is updated to 4.0.4.
Here comes another Sony ROM full of bloatware and unecessary processes.
I'm skipping this one and waiting for CM 9.0 fixes, with proper accelerometer and GPU libs.
Regarding the update already released for the other terminals, how much bloatware is there?

All manufacturers place their own apps there, not every new Android user knows how to install apps to the phone in order to use some function.
Also, what's wrong with GPU libs? There is no problem with graphics on current Xperia devices.
i cant wait. hopefully the ics firmware will fix my wifi problem
It's not only about apps. Sony's stock firmware is filled with many processes that degrade phone's performance.
Just pop "running services" option in stock firmware and see how many useless things there are. Some of them aren't stationary in RAM, they're really running as background processes.
As for GPU libs, I'm hoping for some update to the current ones.

Update on Ice Cream Sandwich rollout for Xperia™ smartphones
Hello everyone. We’d like to bring you up to speed with recent developments in our Android 4.0 software rollout.
First up, the rollout plans for the Xperia NXT series (Xperia S, Xperia P and Xperia U) are progressing as planned. The first smartphone to be upgraded will be Xperia S, starting from the end of June. Then Xperia P will follow, whilst Xperia U will receive it a little later in Q3. As always we will keep you in the loop with the latest info as soon as we can.
For our 2011 range, as you know, we began our Ice Cream Sandwich software upgrade with Xperia arc S, Xperia ray and Xperia neo V last month.
Now, we are happy to confirm that the remaining 2011 smartphones; Xperia arc, Xperia neo, Xperia mini, Xperia mini pro, Xperia pro, Xperia active and Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman will start to receive their updates starting from next week.
This software upgrade will be Android version 4.0.4 and the good news is that this latest version will also be made available for Xperia arc S, Xperia ray and Xperia neo V users, who received Android 4.0.3 the first time around.
In regards to Xperia PLAY, after extensive in house testing with our developer teams and working with our partners, we have concluded that a consistent and stable experience, particularly with gaming, cannot be guaranteed for this smartphone on Ice Cream Sandwich – therefore, we will not make the Android 4.0 upgrade available for Xperia PLAY.
This decision was also verified when we received similar feedback from the developer community; both experienced developers and advanced users, along with game content providers following our ICS beta ROM for unlocked Xperia PLAY smartphones.
Our priority has and always will be, to provide the best possible user experience on Xperia smartphones. In this instance the ICS upgrade would have compromised stability, where we look to ensure a quality gaming experience with games optimized and developed for Xperia PLAY.
As always, feel free to drop us a comment or question below.

That is for Xperia S mate, this does not mean they will give kernel 3.0.8 for Neo/NeoV or any 2011 model in that matter. They said they worked too much on 2.6 kernel for 2011 series and they don't like to throw away a very optimized kernel :/
hope the battery drain problem will be solved and will have a new kernel !!
having prob with Flash player on 4.0.3 hope they will resolve it
2012 ICS update kinda make me feels like we've been cheated by Sony but then again in xda nothing is not portable

It's for 2011 line, including Neo V. If they are going to base their 4.0.4 release on 3.0.8 kernel, then tell me how on earth are they planning to use something else for the rest of the phones recieving 4.0.4. The simple logic says Neo V is going to have android 4.0.4 with 3.0.8 kernel. Remember my words.

First of all, thanks for porting Arconium 5.0 update to PRO.
Just wondering, has anybody had an issue with SD card not being found by gallery and music player? Also, if taking a picture or a screen shot I would get a square saying that the picture could not be saved.
The SD card is however found by the stock storage meter and also by the explorer app that gets installed through Aroma.
I tried both flashing over Arconium 4.0 and doing a clean flash with .578 stock plus kernel and couldn't get around it.
Any pointing into what direction should I follow will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Dear visitors of forum XDA Developers. I'm starting to develop an operating system Google Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for smartphone Sony Ericsson Xperia X10i. I assembled a team of 10 programmers, we will develop an operating system, and to promote it in the network. We are going to develop a new operating system by rewriting the library file system, as well as correct drivers for the operating system. Our project was prepared in early September and lasts for 3 months. Our firmware is based on the operating system of the Sony Xperia TX and its predecessors. Due to problems with Jelly Bean run on devices Xperia X10i we can tighten the development release. Approximate date of the beta version on December 15. We are also very happy to receive feedback from you on the project. Donate funds to us for a powerful operating system. The last test, the operating system started up and operated without uniform hangs. To upgrade the operating system, no longer need to connect the phone to your computer, click on the phone much press "Search for updates."

this is so lame, the right place for this thread is the thrash !

anyways, according to forum rules, a thread is not allowed before a rom is released, am i right? (if i remember correctly mcsqwizzy's thread got closed temporarily because there is no rom ready yet.)
so just a friendly suggestion is to try releasing an alpha rom just to make sure you don't get your thread closed by the original_ganjaman. xP
For those of you that feel that this is a scam or whatever, please be patient he did say 15 Dec so lets all bear in mind that this is a development forum and all development should be welcomed, especially to our x10 which is waay past its lifetime.
for the sake of us all i humbly apologise if i have hurt anybody's feelings, and please give this team their due support

Re: [ROM][TEST] CM10 (4.1.2) for Sola
Here's a look at the initial development of JB for nova Thor devices from diff JB devices which went no further cause of lack of sources & incompatibility...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?p=36537872
And my tests related over here:-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?p=36609647
I didn't post here cause its irrevelant cause it just boots with touch working and Bluetooth working ...
Edited:- Mutual Consent With Dev
If you feel that this shouldn't have been here, report the thread.
Otherwise, thanks for making this thread anyways. About time.
Anyways, my internal sources gave me this:
1. Sony Xperia S Jelly Bean update almost out, end of March or 1st week April. Most probably end of March (early) itself.
2. Xperia P and GO Jelly Bean updates nearly out as well. Scheduled end of March (this month!))
SURPRISE
3. Jelly Bean BETA version (no further release or support, for unlocked BL only) for Xperia SOLA and Xperia U, most probably released with P and GO Jelly Bean updates.,
Hope this helps!

Sure
Thank you SPU. I will try this ROM later. :good:
Can you please upload it to some other website? It asking for permission after logging in.
as long as it is ICS, i'm pesimistic this rom could satisfy users by saying "it's fast". sorry this may really sound offensive, but i just wanna say the truth. i've been using ray since 2011 and been changing rom over and over. my conclusion, ICS was not meant to live for ray.
you could prove me wrong if you want to. i'll really appreciate if you start using JB as base. good luck!

i'm not a bad guy mate. so here i'm not in a position of giving poor rating or anything like that. i'm saying that ICS sucks on ray by experience, not by accident. i'm also not interested in underestimating your work. i'm just thinking that such a talented developer like you could bring a "real" fast rom, and it must be JB for sure, instead of ICS

That's a productive idea, lol!
Got bootloop on first install with CTC 2.8 kernel. Wiped everything before that. Trying again... :fingers-crossed:
EDIT1: Second install went OK. No GSM on first start, second one is ok. Playing now.
EDIT2: Location based WiFi FC's. Download internet settings fails.
PS: cleaning bloatware like there's no tomorrow, lol. Over 90 apks.
What about conversation and contacts did they are ported to ? oh im so confused with this rom did its cm based or stock ics or its 4.0 or 4.1 ?
can you port this rom for xperia arc ?
You have done a great work.Although its not fast enough, but it is stable to use:good:
