what apps do you find yourself using the most on your tf300t? - Transformer TF300T Themes and Apps

for me it's pretty much only perfect viewer for comics and manga, moon+ reader for e-books and the stock music player for when i'm reading.

Are you able to consistently do special moves in street fighter? That ha-du-ken is no joke with touch screen controls.
I haven't used it a ton yet (other than installing cwm and setting it up), but I put some movies and there and plan to play some games as well. Found a cool game called Galaxy Wars Tower Defense that's been pretty addicting lol.

since you read comics on your tf300t i recommend using gmd gesture control to hide the taskbar when you read.

Thanks for the tip atomicblue. ComicRack actually hides the task-bar when reading. My tablet is used 90% for reading comics and the rest for surfing.

- gReader (tried feedly, flipboard, etc..... and I just don't like them. Would love someone to make just a better visual interface FOR the greader app itself)
- elecont weather (most amazing weather app ever for tablets - check "large screen" settings box)
- another world game.
- evernote
- 500px for gorgeous photos
- ted talks video apps for inspirational videos
- gvoice for texting
- browser for everything else

I just recieved my TF300 yesterday and I love it!
For streaming 1080p x264 mkv I use ES File Explorer + BS Player Lite, and it works great, some 1080p movies tend to lag a bit, but that's because of the network speed, not the tablet itself.
Tapatalk for forum chatter!
Mupen64 Plus AE (much better than N64oid) for playing N64 games.
Snes9x EX (better than Snesoid) for playing Snes games.
This combined with Wiimotecontrol to sync my Wiimote+classic controller.
Imdb works great as well, optimized for tablets and it looks gorgeous!
Swiftkey X for tablets (works great)
Apex Launcher (soooo smooth and tons of features)
Google Music (also tablet optimized and looks great)
Quickpic as mentioned before (although it tends to lag when scrolling through pictures)
Teamviewer to control my own and my family's computers

Forum Runner gets a lot of use on mine

Thanks, ill check some of those out
Sorry for this long post everybody- extremly bored tonight, breaking bad ended sunday
My two cents...
Xtra markets for legit downloads.
Getjar- have to download from webpage. Many free apps, mostly for phones, but got beautiful widgets and splashtop for free.
Amazon Market- download from amazon site- free app of the day
Wallpaper apps
Droidiris- best app for searching the web for wallpapers.
Multipicture live wallpaper- good for getting full wallpaper instead of cropped one and of course, multiple wallpapers for different screens.
Launchers- free versions of both to try them out. Good to resize widgets.
ADW EX- the best for tablets, very customizable, access to use more screen space, no lag on home screens. Secondary dock that you can access just from swipe of the finger.
Launcher pro is also nice, all depends on your preferences really.
Music- pandora and tune in radio...both free
Widgets- so many to name...
Desktop Vizualizer- resize icons, make your own icons
Circle Launcher- space saver
Android pro widgets- good transparent facebook, twitter, calendar feeds, bookmarks
Weather/clock widgets- hundreds and hundreds
HD widgets
Beweather
Beautiful widgets- free from getjar
Asus weather
Make your own clock
Many, many more
Games- to each there own on these, but here are a couple of mine
Grave defense hd
two player reactor, wife loves this one
Dropwords, another wife game
The angry birds games
Tetris free
Super stickman golf
Doodle fit
Cut the rope
Early bird
180 ultra
Leo's RC simulator- toy plane and helicoptor simulator
N64oid- Mario kart baby!
Speedx 3d
Konas crate
Live Holdem pro
Stupid zombies
Tools
Wifi file explorer
Dropbox
If rooted- root explorer if not rooted file manager hd
Splashtop remote- free on getjar- control your desktop from your tablet
Office
Google docs
RSS
Pulse, tapatu, Google reader
Folder organizer- self explanitory, works good with desktop vizualizer
There are just too many apps that work on tablets now, you should have seen when the tab first came out! Now I don't have enough time in the day to catch them all.

OverDrive Media Console for checking books out of your public library (if they offer that service)

My friends Larry Page and Sergey Brin know some great apps...MILLIONS of them.
Tabr

Best widget set out there imho and easy on resources.

can you control this tab through your pc to like play games

gan you play games on your tab through your pc
Well I'm not completely sure what you mean, but a good desktop streamer should do the trick.
I have Splashtop Remote Desktop HD and I tried to play some games on my tab with it (with a keyboard connected to the tab) and it worked better then I expected (almost no input lag etc). Mind you, it was on home Wi-Fi, with the comp wired to the router. Also, I had to play the game windowed (no problem if you have a no boarder window on the game).
i want to be able to play modern combat 3 on mt laptop i have it on my phone and tab
You can control your tab through your PC if it is rooted, but how you want to do it, it isn't possible from my knowledge.

[Q] Streaming screen (like 3d game) from PC - possible?

Hello,
I am a gamer, and I am quite new to tablets.. and one of things that is bothering me - is there a possibility to use tablet as "remote touch screen".
I mean - lets say we start some game on PC - let the high-end pc hardware do all the rendering and stuff AND then compress it a bit in real-time AND stream it to tablet over WiFi -> so basically you have any PC app "running" on tablet...
(add to that some control conversion from touch to pc mouse-clicks - and most titles should be playable not-so-bad level)
Is something like this possible? Or maybe tegra3 is still not powerful enough to handle that? (or maybe its impossible to real-time compress 720p video to size that would go easy over wifi (20-30 mbit/s ?) ? - if I remember 720p video is present in some skype but I do not know how lag-free it is...)
Just wondering...
Thanks for answers.
Yes. Two things to look into. First, plain old VNC (google it), which has been around forever. The best android VNC client I've used so far is TeamView. Others may have other favorites.
Second, there is a service called OnLive strictly for remotely streaming games to various devices. They have (recently, I believe) released an android client.
Splashtop HD is the best for what you looking for. its built into the Prime. its in the Mycloud app. OnLive is a gaming server client on its own. you choose PC/console games they have on their server. which is alot. you can't set up your own thing with Oblige. Onlive is everything within itself. the streaming game play is great and virtually no lag. play games like PC Nvidia version of Batman Arkham city, Homefront, Metro 2033, Aliens vs. Predator FPS, New Quake, Darksiders, Street Fighter 4 n tons more.

Does anyone that's used both have any thoughts on how Splashtop HD compares to Teamviewer? Is it worth the price tag (Teamviewer being free)?
TV is dead simple to use, but it would never confuse it with using my PC directly. If there is something faster and smoother I'm all for switching...

You might also want to look into OnLive. They recently released an Android app for their game streaming service. Some games are modified to allow for touch screen control. You can use a game pad as well...
http://www.onlive.com/
Oops... OnLive already mentioned...ah well, I second the suggestion then!
Prime comes with splashtop installed, but if your looking to play games that are streamed off of a PC you want OnLive.
The Prime can handle the streaming part just fine. Splashtop has had the best results for me (best frame rate and picture quality).
There are three major issues you should know about though with Splashtop and your application assuming you are using either the dock or an external mouse and keyboard.
1st - You cannot play the games on you PC in full screen. I'm not sure if it is the same in all remote desktop programs, but there is apparently a difference in the way windows and directx handle the graphics when you have either windowed or full screen. Splashtop can't capture full screen and therefore can only play games in windowed mode.
2nd - Android does not have a right click. Even if you hook up a mouse, right click will be mapped to the back button. This sucks for games in a big way. Some of the RDP software I've seen have a trick for this to get right click, but I haven't had luck gaming with those.
3rd - Splashtop does not mouse track. What this means is that even though you see your mouse cursor moving around on you tablet screen (assuming you are using an external mouse), Splashtop only registers its location when you click on something. The effect is that games like first person shooters won't work properly since you can't look around with the mouse like you normally would. Again, other RPD software out there has this ability, but like before, they didn't work well for games for me.
I would love for this thing to work for playing PC games remotely, but at the moment it just isn't quite there. Splashtop updates frequently, so maybe in the near future they will implement things to fix the last two issues.

Sony S1 App Essentials

Alright, so I took the plunge and have this bad boy arriving to my doorstep tomorrow. I certainly plan to spend some time playing with this all night and downloading anything and everything. I just wanted to see what people found as really helpful apps that show off their tablet, and/or really helped boost the utility of the tablet.
I don't care whether the apps are games, tools, widgets, etc.
What are you addicted to on your tablet the most?
I know with my hobbled Evo 4G I'm excited to give Draw Something and TempleRun a go without it resetting my old Sense launcher every 10 minutes. But beyond that, I haven't really looked into any tablet specific apps.
And besides Play apps, are there any built in Sony specific add-ons that really surprised you more than you expected (IR, Qriocity, etc.)?
Favorites are;
Game- Reckless Racing 2
Widget- PWS( Wunderground Personal Weather Station)
App- Torque
I mainly use my tablet for reading, so my favorite apps are:
- Amazon Kindle, absolutely love it, its better than apple's iBook in every way
- Perfect Viewer, I think its one of the best manga viewers on Android

Sony Reader vs Kindle vs Nook vs Google Play Books
How do they shake out in your mind?
Didn't quite know how to best approach each one. Just read through The Hunger Games on the stock Sony Reader app. Was about to download the other apps for comparison.
PS I love reading on this baby though. Just feels good.
I haven't tried the Sony Reader app yet, I mainly use Nook and the Kindle app. I think the Kindle app is better designed and works better but it is easier to sideload epub books into the Nook app.
Nook: sideloaded epub files, free book giveaway every friday
Amazon: use it mostly to read ebooks checked out from libraries. Works great.

I haven't actually tried the Sony Reader, I have most of my library on Kindle already so I just went with Kindle.
Media:
-Sony's pre-loaded Remote Control app is great. I use it in the living room all the time and hardly touch my remotes anymore.
-Plasma Sound HD (Free) is a very fun music app that makes good use of the tablet screen size
-Adobe Photoshop Touch ($10) is a great portable substitute for the real Photoshop application. $10 seems a bit steep for an app, but you'll never need any other photo editing apps.
-Gmote 2.0 (Free) is a great app that allows you to browse for files on your computer and open them on your computer or on the tablet. It also has a touchpad mouse built in. Very handy if you have a PC hooked up in a living room.
-Amazon Kindle (Free) has been the smoothest e-reading experience for me, by miles. I'll second that Perfect Viewer (Free) is great for comics and manga.
Utility:
-If rooted, AdFree Android is a great adblocker that vastly improves browsing speed on the stock browser.
-ADWLauncher EX ($3.32) is the best alternative launcher I've found so far, though the recently released GO Launcher HD could give it a run for its money if they add more customization options.
-HD Widgets ($1.99) is my personal favorite for adding a digital clock, switches and weather status to your home screen.
-If you have a Wii, Wiimote Controller (Free) is a nice little app that allows you to sync your bluetooth Wii remote to your device. It's great for using with emulators.
Games:
-ChuChu Rocket
-Dead Space
-Draw Something
-Grand Theft Auto III
-Scramble with Friends (obscenely addictive)
-Shadowgun

Thanks for you
Apps:
>Documents to go -loading up a full word document with pictures is pretty snazzy
>File Manager HD - nice file browser for tablets
>MX video player, or double twist. Both good but I go MX.
>Winamp for music
>Volume+ FREE is nifty as - compresses all outputs so that they all stay in the upper range of loudness, and as such gives the effect of turn up the volume.
>My bank has an awesome net banking app for tablets also that is very intuitive, maybe yours might too
Games:
>(whoops just saw hogaburger posted this one allready) ShadowGun - a pretty impressive gears of war clone that looks and plays great on the sony tablet s. Also supports mapping controls to a ps3 controller/gamepad
GTA3> Plays and looks great, also natively supports the ps3 controller but I'm sure you could reconfigure the controls if needed.
>ZEN Pinball THD. It's simply amazing, if you like pinball I don't think you'll find a better app on the play store.
I also recommend getting Slide me marketplace installed (3rd party market). Then you can get some amazing emulators that used to be at premium price on the android market (and were/are the finest emulators around) for free . ie snesoid, nesoid, gbcoid, etc etc. The only one he seems to be charging for is N64oid. Pity cause I bought that back inthe day and now it's gone .
And the fun really starts if you decide to go ahead and root the tablet. Then all the games from gameloft become available to you if you edit your build.prop
Stock sony apps you say? Crash bandicoot is definately the best one . The rest suck in my opinion. Some would argue that the IR remotes awesome, I just find it tedious. Or that the sony music player sounds great, but I think the tablet itself sounds bad anyway so whats the difference really. Plus you gotta jump through hoops to get your SD card music to show up in it. (need root).
Oh. I do like the stock launcher and keyboard. If you don't mess with them too much, they work pretty good.

It's really cool that GTA 3 supports a controller input! I'll have to check that out now.
And that the Slide me marketplace sounds really nifty. I guess I'll have to get that micro to mini USB dongle thing to plug in a gamepad and really unlock the emulator abilities of the tablet!
I HATE how little Sony's PSN games offer. With everything they've collected from me, I refuse to buy MediEvil and such twice. My account info should all be able to transfer over and unlock that.
Thank you all for this great list. My Tablet S should be here tomorrow, I hate that I will be at various appointments all day before I could get my hands on it.
I'm a little disappointed it does not interact more with the PS3, but I have my fingers cross that with the ICS update this matter will be address.
I'm still on the fence on if I should root or not.
Got my Sony tablet S, and after playing with it for about 5 hours last night, this thing is great! This is my first tablet so really nothing to compare it to.
My wife which has a Kindle keyboard is loving this tablet, she loves the bigger screen, the fact that she can read in the dark without a desk lamp, and most of all the shape.
So now i'm in the market for a second tablet as soon as may 1st, I will wait and see if Google comes with something like the rumors says, or maybe one of the new samsung, or the prime.
Thanks again for the list.

+1 for that
Sony isn't really doing his best I mean which PSone games do you have other then the silly ones available right now
These games I would like to see in the PS store:
1. Command and Conquer
2. C&C Red Alert 1
3. A Bugs Life
4. Ape Escape
5. Tomb Raider
6. Rayman
These games are already much more "Liked" then the simple games on ps store and still, Nothing more then just a couple of dumb old games..
And they need a controller or it is not playable except rayman.
Example: Fpse doesn't support ps3 Controller
Fancy widgets for a very nice HTC style clock and weather
for me,
Best Apps:
iTap Mobile RDP - a fantastic remote desktop app which uses requires no 3rd Party App to be installed on the pc. I use it at home and at work, and has gesture recognition.
Price: About $12
Mindjet - formally 'Thinking Space Pro', a paid for app, this is now owned by MindJet (who I think make enterprise level versions of the software) as a free app. Makes a great tool for at work.
Price: free
Best Games:
Sim City - Surprisingly good graphics and gameplay, though takes a little getting used to the controls.
Price: Can't remember, but about $4 iirc
Train Crisis HD - just a fun puzzle type game
Price: Approx $1
(sorry, wouldn't let me post links)

For file sharing from android to android best app is Software data cable.....
It let send 800mb file in jst 2 min...
5-10 MB/S transfer rate.....
Everyone just try this app and you will know the awesomeness of it.....
VLC Stream & Convert crashes upon opening it, so I guess it's incompatible or have to edit some stuff.
Google Voice was a godsend when I bricked my Pantech Burst and had to wait over a month for the incompetent cretins at ASURION to send my replacement. Chrome, YouTube, and Minecraft PE also worked fine, got them all off of 4shared. Minecraft PE is BEAUTIFUL on the KFHD.
