Do you ever know how to use a camera??
Do you know how the auto focus system work?
Focus can be achieved by finding contrast between dark and light area.
In your pic there is no light only dark so it's impossible to get a sharp pic and that's why the error come.
In this situation you need to activate the torch.

Anyway try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26482774&postcount=35
You should know that the square in the middle of the camera screen is the focus point.you have to press halfway while the focus point toward a bright object,in this case focus will be achieved, than reframe and shoot.
I cannot be sure if your phone is faulty.
Sorry for my bad English

Can you upload some of them?
There is lot of things that make a photo blurry,eg if you set the camera to scene auto In a low light condition than you will have a blurry photo cause the camera will switch to a low shutter speed mode automatically.

Have you tried using the multi point auto focus ?
The tweakable options within the default camera app are impressive and so is its fully auto mode, but it does sound like you're asking the impossible off a camera phone. Even if the shots were in focus the noise levels will be hidous. The exmor r is good in low light just not that good!
Bro, Y U SO FUSSED? Calm down and take it easy. While I am not so sure if it is your unit problem, I have no problems with my autofocus at all. There are a few things to photography and even the best cameras cannot focus well in the lighting conditions I see in your picture (read my Canon Powershot SX200IS). You might only take 1 photo in such conditions in a year (or even less or never). Trust me on one thing, never stress test gadgets like reviewers do. Get the best out of what you do daily and what you would like to do. I am sure taking pictures in super dark conditions is not under one of them.
Are guys u are not getting me right
I went out with family friends in a restaurant and there we clicked some photos out of which 80% of the photos were out of focus totally
And on the other hand in blackberry 9700 and iphone 4 took photos which were atleast focused and not bad at all
Mind u in the same low light!!
Thats the main problem
And i havnt seen any sony phone do so bad in camera in which sony is master of all
So i said its definatly a fault!!

And that bro is what you should have mentioned in the first post. Might be a hardware defect, though haven't heard this before ever. You see in the picture you gave, it seemed like you turned the lights OFF in your room and then were taking the picture with light maybe from an adjacent room or outside light. Always mention full details. I don't have any such problems and since the camera in the S is a beauty, I hope you soon get a replacement. Enjoy and hope your new S will give you justice

With hdr you will only notice it in hard to expose moments such as dark for ground and bright background. I in a natural lit environment it will be hard to notice.

They aren't overly great, would be better to customise it but it's fine for now. You can tell there is more potential after trying the different modes though. I agree with most saying something between standard and natural likely would be better...

100% agree.
Standard is the best even though it still slightly saturate.
Natural is not natural, it is too dull.
Movie - what the point of this mod, better us black and white phone.
Dynamic like S II time color, way way too saturate.

1. Take a photo, preferably with bright colours.
2. View the photo in gallery with mbe on.
3. Take a screen shot.
4. Repeat 2&3 with mbe off.
5. Now with mbe off, view the two exact same photos in the gallery on full screen, swipe between them, you WILL see a difference, it may be subtle, but it will be there.

I don't think BE works this way! If u screen shot it, it will be the same as ur original pic neither on BE off nor On would effect the screen shot! But it effect the viewing! I meant like all the 2 screen shots and original image would look excactly the same on the same BE state! If the BE state change, it would effect all the pics not partially nor depend on which state the screen shot was taken with!
If you know what I mean!

I can say that BE is not working on Viewing pics since I've capture a screenshot in video in software rendering mode on MX player! Then turn on Hardware rendering! its not working on Sony's Album app neither on hardware accelerated Quickpic! It works on MX Video HW accelerated though. please click the link i have posted and help me make Sony fix it!
one more thing, a screenshot with BE ON or OFF wont show any difference when the actual screenshots were transferd over a computer. mBE only works with the SX or ACS's screens when viewing photos and videos. BUT IT DOESN'T WORK ON ICS.
the difference is CLEAR and APPARENT with it ON. CHECK MX VIDEO or anyone who had a 2011 Xperia phone with ICS.
ANYONE WITH EYES WILL NOTICE THE HUGE DIFFERENCE IN COLOR SATURATION AND NOISE REDUCTION! even those people who are not into technology and don't even care about BRAVIA or SUPERAMOLED saw the difference. (my office mates)

be only works with sony's apps ie. album and movies. be has got nothing to do with mx player, the change you are noticing is due to the difference in software and hardware decoder.

Let me ask u a logical question! As u know that BE emulate a normal picture into a more vivid and good looking pic! U agreed with that right!
Kk!! How abt viewing a screenshot of BE On in a BE-Off state? Still the look of BE on? - ACTUALLY IT WILL LOOK LIKE BE off like the one u capture with BE-Off!
How abt viewing a screenshot of a BE off in a BE-ON state? Still look like BE off? Why didn't it turn to BE-ON? - it'll look like BE on even the screenshot of BE-off since it emulate pics on screen to BE-On!
YOU GET WHAT I MEAN?
