Hello,
I want to buy a safe chager for my S. I have a cheap one at the moment and get alternator noise when charging so bought a ground loop isolator to fix the problem but it didnt so after a bit of research I found that if your hearing alternator noise you could be messing up your battery.
Ive looked on amazon.co.uk and found an official xperia one but alass they will not post to Irleand
Do any of you guys have a recomendation. The offical one on amazon came to under £4 but would be willing to pay more for safe humm free charging
Thanks

I have the official Sony Ericsson Charger that supplies 1500ma. It comes with the same cord that comes with the Xperia S. I recommend it, it does the job well and seems pretty quick. I paid 12 dollars on Amazon for mine.

Hello everyone,
a few weeks ago i bought myself a brand new Xperia S.
It came with the EP-850 charger, also known as the quick charger (1500mA).
However, this charger was broken from day one. It just wouldn't charge my phone.
So i immediately contacted the shop and sent it back to them.
They sent me an 850mA charger. I did not agree with this, so i called them back and asked them to send me a similar charger to the one i previously had.
They said that it is very hard to get hold of the EP-850 separately. They suggested sending me a 1700mA charger.
Now i'm wondering if this 1700mA charger will cause my phone to break down.
Is that the case or would it be perfectly safe to use it?
They say that it's perfectly safe to use it, but i'd just like to have a second opinion on that
Thanks!
Hi there,
It is safe. You cannot charge it quicker than your phone can handle. Compare it to a funnel: you can pour a lot into it, but only a limited amount comes out at a time. It's the same with current.
Hope it helps.
Thanks for your reply mijm,
good to know that it's safe. I think i'll go for the alternative they are offering me then.
Hey guys... This video covers 3 different QI chargers and my car setup which I've been running since Christmas Eve.
Is anyone else running multiple chargers around their house/office/vehicle?

I have one at home and one at the office. Not sure about putting one in the car yet since the battery really isn't bad to te point where i need to keep it charged all the time.
yupiiiiii
That's pretty awesome. I'm using the Nokia DT910 at home, which does charge pretty slow might I add. I've been looking for a wireless charger/dock for the car but after seeing that video, I might do something along these lines until a QI charger for the car pops up.
Bought two Nokia DT910 at Verizon yesterday. My company gets a 25% discount on accessories which made them like 37 dollars plus tax each. So far I love it. Using AirDroid now and think I will probably buy that app its real nice.
Good review. I hate the annoying beep from the LG one so I disabled the speaker from mine. I would have liked to see more of the car mounting in the video.
I've kept up with all the research and debate on the best charger/cable combinations for the galaxy note 3 and i'm happy with the charging results from the charger that comes with the note 3, but I need an additional charger. The best I can gather from others is that some are able to use their tablet chargers as well as some miscellaneous other chargers with mixed results to get the faster charging. I've also noticed that almost every non-OEM "fast charger" sold is marketed and designed for the ipod/ipad/iphone, which decreases the power for non-Apple devices.
Does anybody have a direct link or a suggestion for an affordable stand-alone charger that I can purchase for the Note 3? The OEM charger runs $25+ on sale and i'm hoping to find something less expensive.

Your best bet is just to shop around on Amazon, as there are tons of viable options available there that will leave you more than satisfied with your purchase. I would sit here and type out answers to all your question(s), but this has been covered before. Actually, I participated in a thread very similar to this one and since it's nearing 3:00am and I'm exhausted, I'll just point you in that direction instead. :good: Anyway, here's the link to the thread from last month, and here is MY post in that thread based on products that I purchased and am still using on a daily basis.
To sum it all up in a quick "Cliff Notes" form, I bought the AmazonBasics 2.1 amp charger from Amazon and it performs exactly the same as the OEM Samsung wall charger, except it's only a fraction of the cost of the OEM Samsung. You can pick one of the AmazonBasics 2.1 amp chargers for $8.99 here ------> AmazonBasics Wall Charger with USB Outlet (2.1 Amp Output) I hope this helps you a little bit in finding what ya need! :good::good:
Looking for one too.
I have the Hong Kong model and it comes with the UK plug.
Big, ugly and don't need/want it if I am not in UK.
It is removeable (the UK part) so there should be a EU, USA etc pins that will fit it but don't know where.

I'll try this out. I read the thread you reference, but then somebody posted a review on amazon that said they still ended up with slow charging on the Amazon Basic unit, so I got cold feet. I'll just give it a go. Thanks.

Yeah, as inexpensive as the AmazonBasics charger I referenced for you is, you should just try it out for yourself. As many people that have bought this charger and have had a great experience with it, in my opinion it's well worth at least trying it for yourself. If for some crazy reason you happen to get a "lemon," you're only out less than $10, so not too big of a deal really. I highly doubt that's gonna happen though lol. I use mine every single day. I actually split time between the OEM charger and the AmazonBasics 2.1amp charger, as I have two chargers(1 OEM and 1 AmazonBasics 2.1amp) at home and another charger(At work I use a second AmazonBasics 2.1amp charger that I purchased from Amazon after seeing how well the first one I bought compared to the OEM Samsung charger that came with the phone.) at work. :good:

Just an update... I bought the Amazon Basics charger from your link and it works great. Thanks for the heads up.
Magnetic USB Charging Cable, some one will try it?
http://dx-box.com/high-performance-...e-magnetic-connection-and-charging-speed.html
I will not touch a third party charger. I want to buy the DK30/Dk31 dock and take it apart for the EC21 cable but I'm not sure if its compatible? Does Somebody know maybe?
The page doesn't load for me, but I'd trust the microUSB -> Magnetic convertors over the entire charger. That way you can use the OEM charger or another high quality charger.
A lot of brandless chargers are made lower quality and that can lead to issues where phones "explode". Odds are, whenever you read about a person's phone exploding they were probably using a knockoff charger.
The adapters shouldn't be a problem. It's just a simple wire-to-wire exchange. No circuits.
Something like this
http://www.amazon.com/Magnector-Per...1144360&sr=8-1&keywords=magnetic+charger+sony
EDIT: I got a kick out of "Reverse Attachment Charging Protection", because the charging holes are just different sizes.
My Z1 magnetic charging cable works although it is a tad more easy to dislodge compared to when I was using it on my z1
I have THIS http://www.clove.co.uk/microusb-to-magnetic-connector-adapter and I must say it doesn't work perfectly. The adaptater doesn't 'grip', it stays in place only if you put you Z3 down.

OF COURSE. There are phones exploding just everywhere; you just cannot leave the house without ear protectors because there's exploding phones all around you.
Honestly; I am so sick of reading that "exploding phone" stories over and over. Same with stolen kidneys and similar paramountly believable urban legends.
Is this the charger wich comes with z3 in box ?
Quick Charger EP881
I cant find spec for this,is this the 2A or 1.5A ?

believe its 1.5A based on the same code found on other sony country sites.
http://www.sony.com.sg/product/ep881
however, lazy to check if its the same model that comes with the Z3 although i believe it should be!
This is the one my Z3 came with. T-mobile Netherlands model.

This is 2.5A fast charger wich is great. How much time it needs to 100% charge the battery?Im geting mine tomorrow, hope that comes with same charger.
I'm pretty sure it is 1,5A. Charged my device only once with it and I was surprised with the speed. Will do a timed run next time round.

the picture clearly reads 1500mA and that's what it is. This charger was included with my z3 as well.
2.30h to fully charge the batery with original 1.5A charger. Its not so bad.
EP880 is 1.5A, and is what came with my Z3. I'm intrigued to know what the 881 is.
In fact, given its support of Quick Charge 2.0, I am hopeful of Sony releasing a new PSU that can detect a QC2 compatible device and up the power further. So far I can only find one from Motorola and it's not on sale outside the US (that I can see).
Hi All,
Thought I'd give my review of two different magnetic cables I've purchased from my Xperia Z3.
Firstly, I purchased a £3 magnetic cable from Ebay which was utterly a waste of money! Soon as you picked the phone up or touched it the connection port would move up or down. I contacted the seller who is sending me a replacement so will see if this is any better.
Now on to the more expensive magnetic cable but with a twist.
This magnetic cable I purchased from Amazon had great reviews from previous Z2 users. Now I wasn't sure if it was Z3 compatible but turned out the ports are the same for Z2 and Z3. So I purchased the item from Flubit as you get a little discount if they can get a deal for you and it arrived within 2-3 working days.
Item name: [ Magnector X ] High Performance Universal Sony Xperia Z1 & Z2 & Z3 Charging Adapter for Micro USB Cable - Enhanced Magnetic Connection and Charging Speed [ Black ]
This product felt more durable and solid when taking it out of the mildly fancy packaging. The product itself isn't connected to a cable but has a micro usb port which you attach your original Sony cable to. (unfortunately I need 10 posts before i can show pics but just check it out on Amazon. I tried it for the first time last night as my phone stays next to my pillow and it seems to do the trick as it didn't fall off even with my cheapy case attached to it in the morning.
As the saying is, buy cheap...buy twice! Hope this review helps anyone on making a decision between the cheap ones and expensive ones.:good:

I also just got this cable through today and its fantastic.
Avoid the cheap ones.
Got one first thing Monday morning via Amazon and super impressed because I ordered it at 6.55pm on Sunday night!
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00H2EEB4S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I got mine from Amazon (Prime) but there was only one in stock and I got it, so now it's showing from another supplier.
It's great! I had two unknown Chinese-made ones before, and both struggled to stick to my Z2 or Z3, causing all sorts of weird issues (mostly that of what it would be like to attach and detach the lead repeatedly). They're now history.
So far this is clamping on so solid that there's no chance of that happening, and I always 'rotate' the magnetic chargers off so no chance of pulling out the connector.
I also got the official dock, but at £20-odd at a time (and I now have a mountain of docks because all I need are the inserts, not a new dock for each phone) I will probably get one or two more of these. The dock by the bedside and these around the house and at work.
Hi what's do you mean by rotate to keep it secured?
When taking off I simply fold/twist it back rather than pull it off and risk damage, given how strong the magnetic force is.
I have bought this one on ebay , "Magnetic Charging Dock Cradle Desktop Charger for Sony Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact" for about 10 euro's (incl sending)
it works nice , you don't need to open the covers each time.
I've been wanting to buy a dock for my new xperia z2, but i'm a little concerned that off brand dock chargers may damage my phone battery or the magnetic terminals of the phone.
Is there any truth to this?
If you don't use the correct charging values, can it corrupt your battery?

I've been an Xperia owner for years and have always used the cheapest docks I could find on ebay. I've never had any issues with battery life on my phones (have had Xperia Z, Z2, Z3, then back to Z2). Just make sure you give your phone a good overnight charge on a wall charger every couple of months or so and you'll be fine.
Sent from my D6503 using XDA Free mobile app
I use chepest dock from ebay and sometimes when I put phone on dock he connect-disconnect-connect-dis.... and I muve little phone and all is good no problems with charging.
I have the VicTsing Dock.
It's not expensive compared to the Sony branded one and the quality is really good.
Also there is a pass-trough USB port on the back that allow you to sync data or even connect any USB device.
