does anyone know if there is a way to root the x2 without plugging it into a pc?
thanks
2.2.2 Uses Gingerbreak.
hi pros,
need ur help how can i restore my droid razr 2.3.6 gsm on mac?
Bootcamp
The safest way forward is bootcamp (i.e. not on OSX). WinXP is stable enough and will allow you to run whatever programs you need (including RSD, ADB, etc). Cheers.
ok so i have parallels desktop,...could you point me to a guide and will i have to install motorola drivers?
I've been enjoying root access on my Motorola XT910 on version 2.3.6 and was able to update to other Gingerbread updates. Apparently, doing OTA updates on my RAZR results with me losing my superuser access on my phone but I was able to restore it twice using "Voodoo OTA RootKeeper" app. However, just today, I updated to ICS and as usual, I lost root access. I tried restoring it using Voodoo but I could no longer run applications requiring superuser access this time.
Can someone help me so I can have root access on my device again? Should I re-root my device and will the old rooting method for Gingerbread work fine with a Motorola XT910 running on ICS?

That's kinda weird when I updated to ICS I was able to use voodoo to recover my root no problem. The newer versions of superuser have the ability to restore root access (like voodoo) you may want to see if that worked otherwise check out motofail's rooting for ics

Does anyone have an exploit that doesn't require a PC? I have a Mac mini and a laptop running Linux. Any help would be appreciated.
Check Easy Root tools

Some of the easy root tools in the development section work on linux and PC.
Check for the threads entitled "[Tool]"...a lot of them are very easy to use.
I was wondering is it possible to root the Droid Razr without the use of a PC? I ask this question cause I don't own a PC and I am fairly new to this setup. So if anyone can answer this for me I would greatly appreciate it.

As far as I know it is not possible to root without the use of a computer. I believe you must use an unlock utility to gain root access and therefore would need the use of a computer. The process isnt long at all so maybe a friend could let you run the utility on his computer?
Just got a RAZR M and finally was able to unlock the boot loader and root the phone with Motopocalypse and Droid RAZR M Util 1.20. Recently I heard that the next RAZR M factory update will have an impenetrable boot loader and be unrootable. I am now being pestered to install an update which I assume is this impenetrable one. If I accept this update will I lose root and be unable to reestablish access or will my root access be unaffected? If it will destroy my root capabilities, how do I stop the update pushes? Thanks to anyone in advance who can help with this.

This Razr forum, so we - Razr users can't help much, because it's completely different cpu. You should search in Razr M forum for help. As I now you always should unroot or use Voodoo OTA rootkeeper with removed root to apply OTA.
