I have seen no issues on multiple phones.
Can't get it to work?
What does that mean?
Mac, PC? What side doesn't work PC or phone??

I have used it plenty with my Droid 3 and lg ally on my PC running windows XP and 7.but now when I hook my razr up it just gets stuck at connecting. Debugging is enabled and drivers are installed but no connection.

If you want to pay for it. The apps you can download like wirelesstether require root.

Even after you root your phone, there is still currently no way to turn the X2 into a wireless access point for free. You CAN set up an ad-hoc connection if your other device supports that. Most do not, except for a laptop running Windows 7.
However, there are MANY other advantages to rooting your phone, and it's not that hard to do.
I am rooted running eclipse.2 rom and tether using wireless tether to my windows xp laptop. Works great no issues. Google wirelesstether.apk for the app.

I will agree. Rooting your phone is key. If for nothing else but to delete the bloat apps with titanium backup. You can also create backups, tweak memory, run scripts. But mostly tether for free.

Root to unlock the full potential of your X2.
I know the advantages of rooting, I've had a og DROID, DROID 2 and DROID x all rooted and flashed, I just haven't really felt the need to root atm

Not an ad-hoc connection, huh? Is it the Eclipse ROM that's enabling you to do that?

PDA Net And EasyTether Are Both Free And Paid Apps For Non-Rooted Users.
It is an add hock connection, but works fine on xp. I even use my work vpn login with no issues.

I have to log on to my router from my PC and give any device I want to connect permission to connect. Im not sure what type router you have, just speaking in personal experience. It took me forever to get mine to connect.

On mine the section is under "wireless> MAC filtering " then enter your phone MAC address found under "about phone>status>Mac address"
I wish I could be more help, I'm not familiar with that particular router.
Let me know what happens, I'll help as much as I can.

Try different channels, security methods, or maybe your phone is set to 2.4 ghz only?
Where would i find what hz my phone is set to

My operating mode is set on mixed mode. Bandwidth is on 20/40 and running 2452 MHz.
Will the phone not recognize the router at all ? Or does it try to connect but fails?

Finally changed router, my router did not have the mixed option which was needed.
Thanks for all your help, greatly appreciated
