[Q] Scrolling is not 1 to 1. How can I fix this? - Motorola Droid X2

When I'm, say, scrolling through a webpage, When I move my finger an inch, the screen moves less than an inch. Also, when I move my finger very slowly over the screen, it isn't picked up. Is there any way to fix this?

Your browser should have a scrolling speed option that allows you to toggle the sensitivity.

If it isn't there try general settings. Other than that, you might want to try cleaning the screen thoroughly as finger/facial oil could cause problems.

How would you suggest I clean the screen? And I didn't find anything in settings.

A dry microfiber cloth works great for cleaning the screen. Obviously make sure there's nothing like sand on the screen before you start rubbing it with a cloth.

I use Monster Screen Clean and a really clean cotton cloth. If you don't already have one, try out a screen protector.

Oh, yeah. I've completely forgotten about those, since this screen is virtually unscratchable.

tell me about it, had to run mine over with a k5 blazer in the mountains of colorado to finally scratch my screen...
still no "screen protector"

[Q] Is there a slight delay when swiping on a screen?

For example, when I'm switching from home screens, the instant I press on the screen and start swiping, it takes about half a second to move. Is that normal? I'm using a thin screen protector, could that be the problem, if there is any.
the protectors r not a prblm,,but android was designed for buttuns not touch..long back many articles were rised on this...the lag is there in every roms..the ios is thts y very diff frm android as once said by google team in their code work area...the diff were raised by a google architec i think long bak too...but iam used to it an i got many droids an i feel the sgs2 is pretty fast an frankly out of the box i dint notice any lag....(((the post here is is no way to harm any ios or droid users)))

thanks for warning but I removed it same minute I bought it, touch is more responsive now, and colors are a bit vivid, and no problems at all. Just be careful with your phone and nothing happens : ))
I have no screen protector and my screen works perfectly.
Just saying.
Edit:
Wait. By looking VERY closely at the edges of the glass, I notice there seems to be a small gap, and it looks there is some sort of layer on top of the glass. Is that a screen protector or is it part of the screen? It doesn't look like it can be removed actually.

There is a protector installed on the screen at the factory.
I removed mine and it still works perfectly if not better.

this isn't a problem by removing the screen protector
it can be everything except that
why not:
screen protector has almost nothing to do with touch (it decrease the touch sensivity) that's all
what can be the problem
phone became wet
phone became hot
hardware fault
and more except screen protector
Maybe there is some glue residue left from removing the protector making it less sensitive in different parts of the screen?
Screen only works when there's something between my finger and the screen!!!

I removed mine 3 months ago and I don't have any problems with touch screen.
I don't understand why people try to remove it, if it is preinstalled.
I always keep those on, until it become messy, then put the third party on, i just don't like leave the screen naked

I've never used a protector with any phone but I look after things. I removed the pre installed "protector" and have had no issues. If your clumsy leave it on.

Sadly I dropped my phone today and damaged the factory fitted protector (at least it was doing it's job!), peeled it off without issue and replaced it successfully!
The Terrapin replacement isn't quite as good but hopefully it'll do the job, and thankfully I didn't damage the screen whe I dropped it.
As I said it before, I don't think that Sony will bother to add that pre-installed screen protector and add cost if it is "useless"... but ofcourse, the choice is with us i.e. if want to take risk of removing it or listen to them...

S-Pen Near Screen

When I'm trying to draw or write on my note, when I go to use it, it draws when i get within two inches or so of the screen....
So my regular, non-cursive, writing looks like crap. Bad.
How can I turn that functionality off, or turn sensitivity down?
***Tap the S-Pen on something hard, and see if there is a difference. Took me three tries.
I'm pretty sure that is not a feature, and is a defect either in the software or unfortunately the hardware. You might need a new S Pen to fix the problem the right way.
There's a youtube video out there on how to "fix" this issue, but what it really does is reduce the sensitivity of the pen to the screen and you probably lose some serious pressure levels when applying this fix. Sorry no link, but I would advise trying your S Pen on the verizon floor model and see if it does the same thing to that one. Then you can feel fairly certain you need a replacement pen.

I was thinking the same thing... if the pen is dropped and the tip is pushed back in to the pressure sensor then it would be 'active' all the time and the hover feature would be interrupted by the phone like touching the screen. A flat tip would be a good indication of that being the case.

Woa! Confirmed! :good: Just tap it flat on a table and it's like new again.
yeah that happened to me too briefly. the pen nib is stuck down so it thinks it's touching the screen when it gets in range of the screen

I've read that this happens when you use your finger to touch the s-pen tip/point.
I had the same problem on my s-pen too. But yea, the tapping on a hard surface seems to work.

check to see if the tip of the s pen is pressed in as it would be if you were touching the screen. It is a physical button that pushes in while writing.

Sensitive s pen

The screen picks up the s pen movements and starts writing before I touch the pen to the screen. Any way to change this?
EDIT I figured it out

Care to elaborate for those who might have this problem in the future? I've heard it can be solved by tapping the stylus on a hard surface but I'm interested to know how you solved it.

I'm one of those people. I thought this was the way it was supposed to act and thought it was a horrible horrible design. I would rather have it act like a regular damn stylus. I can't use it because things skip around, and it selects things I don't want.
Using the googles, I did find this

i had the same issue until i tapped it on a desk a few times...works perfect now.

Screen guard

Hello everyone
I didn't have screen guard installed but only the protective covering. Now it is scratched a lot and I wanna change it. Can I simply remove it and then install a new screen guard? And do non-stickey screen guards come for our phone? Even with least amount of sweat, screen gets sticky and its impossible to move finger over it. Any suggestions?
By non sticky I meant kinda ones we have on s3 and iphones
Yeah, You can simply remove it. Xperia x10 has something like plastic screen, so it will always be sticky and will stop responding with water on it
