Hi,
Has anyone find a solution to connect Wifi Enterprise with 802.1x PEAP, MSCHAPV2 aunthentication? I know that this is a bug in ICS (Ginger Bread no problem with work around by adding settings to wsupplicant.conf), editing the file in ICS won't work. I was just wonder if anyone here be able to use apps or work around to make the setting stick and connect to Wifi Enterprise?
Thanks

Have anyone tried connecting to the eduroam wifi? I've tried it with 1.3d and now with 1.4. Folio detects the network but after I set it up (with right login, password and security settings) it just keeps tryin to connect.
HTC WildFire can connect to this network w/o problem so I guess it has something to do with the folio.
Do I have to do something special to get my folio to connect to eduroam? Thanks
Hi,
For starters, the android version is 2.3.3.
I have a wifi problem with the x10i. At home, there is no connection problem. I connect to my router which uses WPA (TKIP+AES). But at work, I can't connect to the wifi that uses a WPA/WPA2 PSK. This is what I see on the phone. I thought that there was a compatibility problem. So, I created a connection using my iMac that uses a WEP protection. But I still wasn't able to use the wifi. Finally, I disabled the WEP protection and then I could connect. But I don't want the wifi connection to remain unprotected.
I tried looking up this on google but could't find a solution. So, I apologize if this problem has already been adressed here.
Thanx.
I am using SE Live With Walkman. In my university the Wifi network IS 802.1 EAP Secured Wi Fi. I have searched a lot but many people have said that it is not possible to use 802.1 EAP Secured Wi Fi on Ginger Bread.
If anybody was able to use wifi on GB can u help me out?
What problem do you see when you try using your Uni wifi ?
it is not connecting>
When i turn on wifi is scan and shows
UTNET
802.1x EAP.
It tries to connect than shows disconnected
Hi,
I happen to use 802.1x EAP here in my country. It doesn't work without some work on your part. I am using gingerbread without problem.
Have you modify the EAP method? There are 3 methods to choose from. You have to find out which method the access point is using. Also you have to have an account and key in your password as well.
Hope this help.

Also somebody told me that use WIfi advanced config editor and then disable Wap_EAp but after doing that it is showing UTNET disabled
Hi all,
Im having a problem connecting to a VPN on my Galaxy S3 (stock ROM, not rooted, running Android 4.0.4). I can connect to the VPN fine when Im on a wifi network, but when I try to connect while on 3G network it just says connecting for about ten seconds then comes up Unsuccessful.
Initially I thought it might have been something to do with the network blocking VPN connections, but it worked fine on my old phone (Desire Z running stock 2.3.3) and still runs fine if I try it on the old phone with a different sim from the same network.
The VPN in question is connecting using PPTP.
Is there some setting on the S3 that determines whether or not a VPN can connect over 3G? Or is there something else that I might be missing?
Cheers.
Are you sure you're using PPTP and not L2TP or OpenVPN on the old phone?
The network _could_ filter VPN based on the SIM-card but it's somewhat unlikely.
Try comparing the Network APN settings of both devices, especially whether one of both has a Proxy configured.
Now that you mention it I think the old phone might be set to use L2TP, but they changed that setting in ICS and I was unable to use L2TP (neither the PSK or RSA options would allow me to connect) so I had to use PPTP. The fact that it is connecting on the S3 when Im connected to wifi I didnt think it would make a difference; do you reckon that could be the cause of the problem?
Hey guys,
I am currently really desperately looking for a way to get Internet from my DSL-enabled Notebook to my Galaxy S2 and my Asus TF700T Tablet. I am in Finnland on a hotel so I don't have 3g here.
So the facts:
My Laptop has a Wifi Bigfoot Wirless n 1103 network card without Bluetooth.
First I tried to do is setting up a Virtual Wireless Hotspot which kind of worked, but only for a few moments. Got a connection on both devices but then the Hotspot somehow disappeared. Don't know why. Maybe it is due to the Network Card, which is built for good gaming performance over Wifi.
Anyone an idea whats wrong with my Virtual Wifi Hotspot?
Next thing I tried is to set up an Ad Hoc- Wifinetwork over the PC which kind of worked, but both Android devices can't see ad hoc networks and there seemed to be no working wpa_supplicant for jellybean. Both Android devices are on PAranoidAndroid 2.99 by the way and the Laptop is on Win 7.
Does anyone know a way to enable this to see Ad Hoc Wifi networks?
So next thing I tried is Tethering over USB with Android Reverse Tethering which worked for the Tablet but not for the Galaxy S2 for a reason I dont know.
So does anyone know, why it does not work on the S2?
Next I tried setting up a Wifi Hotspot on the Tablet with the app Wifi Tether which kind of worked, but unfortunately this is an ad hoc network which again my Galaxy S2 can't see.
Does anyone know an app that creates an infrasturctured Wifi Hotspot instead of ad hoc?
Then I tried setting up Bluetooth Tethering from Tablet to GS2 which I didn't got to work (Connection established but don't know how to get the Internet working then.
Anyone got an idea about this?
Anything else I could try?
I really didn't believe that this is so hard to do
