Attempting to install Acclaim CM7 and CM9 from SD boot card.
Choose zip from sdcard
acclaim_unsigned_sd_hd.zip
I receive the following error:
Installing update...
E:Error in /sdcard/acclaim_unsigned_sd_hd.zip
(Status 5)
Installation aborted.
Any ideas as to why it won't install?
Can you link the thread/location where you got that file?
I got it from Succulent and his blog.

He has been very helpful to me as I tried complete the setup and install of the files. Now I'm at this point of the install, installing the zip files, and I've run into this "status 5" issue...

get the update.zip from there ??
either get rom manager and flash clockwork then go to recovery and reinstall packages twice or get the update.zip from the link above and reinstall packages twice and that'll take you to clockwork recovery
you sound like you have stock froyo - which means you have the 3E stock recovery.
I suggest following my guide (signature - noobs).
EDIT - ha, just realize Kyle already linked to it, thanks man.
I recently purchased a Flyer 3G and have successfully set S-OFF using this guide [GUIDE][Flyer+View]Gingerbread S-OFF/Recovery/Permaroot and flashed with [ROM]LeeDrOiD GB V2.2.0 [KERNEL]LeeDrOiD V3.1.0 |17th Dec|FAST|STABLE|WIFI/3G|APM.
Apart from a few bootloops occuring everything is fine. What I wanted to do next was to apply some of the add-ons linked within the thread. I downloaded the files to my PC, copied them onto the Flyers SD card and renamed one to update.zip.
Rebooted the Flyer and accessed the Reolutionary CWM v4.0.1.4.
I tried to install using ' apply update from sdcard ' and ' install zip from sdcard ' selecting the update.zip each time and get the following ...
~~~~
Reolutionary CWM v4.0.1.4
-- Installing: /sdcard/update.zip
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
E:Can't open /sdcard/update.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted.
I'm certain that its something I'm doing wrong here as the ROM thread doesn't have anyone else reporting the same issues.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Im currently using an early release of the original ics, but im trying to install the resurrection rom. i've copied the zip files to my sd card but when im in recovery mode trying to install it, it says E: signature verification failed, installation aborted.
how can i solve this problem? thanks
CWM
Yes, I've had the same problem as you and it's relatively simple to fix, before you choose "Install from sdcard" you'll be able to see an option called "toggle signature verification" after this is disabled you'll be able to flash happily
Hi guys,
I'm trying to make a ROM with Aroma installer. I have a folder where are all the tweaks, scripts and app that can be installed with the ROM. The problem is that when I put the folder with the ROM files and I try to flash it with the recovery (CWM), it gives me an error:
Code:
E:Can't open /sdcard/update.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted.
But if I remove this folder of the zip file, the installer starts normally.
Can someone help me fixing this?
Here is the folder that gives me the error: http://www.mediafire.com/download/i6a6lxlp7943m9i/customize.zip
Thank you!!
I'm have SS 3.65 and am running CM 10.1.3.
I'm trying to flash the JBX kernel, but when flashing the kernel, I get the error:
E:Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/JBX-K....
Error flashing zip
Updating partition details
E: Unable to mount '/osh'
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Examine the zip file and make sure that the contents of the kernel isn't living in its own folder. In other words, when you open the zip file, you should see the kernel files (and any accompanying folders) immediately. If you don't, copy/paste the contents of the kernel file into a brandy new folder (created outside of the zip), zip that folder, and then try to flash using your newly created zip file. As for the osh error, don't worry about it; it doesn't (seem) to matter.
