Does any of the rom's have a mic working?
I've just installed S-voice and want to test it.
Thanks
No. It's a hardware/driver issue across the board.

Some of the CM7 roms had limited success with the mic but CM9 isn't ready yet
And S-voice won't work in webos lol
cm9 has been out for like 5 months now.. i dont have any faith the mic or cam will ever work in cm9.

s-voice for ics only, even then it had to be modified as its exclusive for Samsung s3.
If it worked in gb even if it was not that good, surely it could be made to work in ics.
Though the installation of s-voice was without any problems.

Mic and camera are at the bottom of the pile of things to do, getting an OS that was never designed for the TouchPad is no easy thing, drivers and wrappers have to be written from scratch with no support from HP. So have faith in the developers, remember most of them are either at full time work or school/college and are offering you there work for free, maybe you could ask HP to fix the camera and mic I think they would abandon that idea faster than they abandoned the TouchPad itself.

Exactly what BIGSimon said. CM9 is still ALPHA. Meaning some things will not work. Not everything that is released is perfect right away. Developing ROMs isn't always an easy task. What they have done in 5 months is pretty damn great.
yeah i know that. but i seem to recall that it at least halfway worked with cm7. plus, in a short time android will have another os version, jellybean or something. and then what? will cm9 be abandoned and work start with that one? and once again, the camera and mic will be pushed back down to the bottom of the list in order to work on more essential things? seems like a endless cycle

There's a big difference between Android 2.3.7 gingerbread and Android 4.0.4 ice cream sandwich which meant everything had to be re-written to work Android 5 jelly bean is more of an evolution of ICS so drivers will carry over, all the work that's been done now will mean that when JB is released the touchpad will get it a lot faster with everything working

JellyBean will be a minor update, it will have a version 4.1, it isn't as huge step as going from 2.3 to 4.0.
Anyway, sound is surely being worked on (developers (partially, maybe) have gotten rid of bad screen-off sound issue last week), and we will see some progress in a time. If you want a tablet with all features working out-of-the-box, i guess, you should buy another device.
The latest audiolibs seems to be working great. Too bad S-Voice is having connection problems. Anyone know how to resolve the server issues in S-Voice?

Hi all, i havent bit the bullet yet with this rooting game as the atrix as been plenty fast enough for me box standard, but since getting the lapdock and finding it so painfully slow that I wont use it, I started googling my options, so here i am as it seems that rooting is the answer!
Ive been reading about Jellybean and it sounds like its been designed to work with accessories like the lapdock, that lead me to read the thread about the CM10 rom that epinter is building which sounds brilliant.
I cant ask the Q on that thread because im a noob so can someone tell me if epinters cm10 works with the lapdock or would i need to add things.
thanks
Joe
Epinter's CM10 work with lapdock, but just simple HDMI output, the webtop app isn't work.

Thanks for the replies guys but just to clarify, your both saying -
The lapdock works?
Well of course it works, however much like CM9 it's only going to mirror the video output from the phone right now. However the auto tablet switch is still broken (from what it sounds like, I'm not on CM10 yet.) and Moto's WebTop is obviously still broken as well.
Personally I'm waiting for a version of Paranoid Android based on CM10. Maybe when that hits I can finally switch modes without having to reboot.

I think i could live with that as the browser on the lapdock is only useable if i use it through the phone rather than its own firefox.
So i would just be losing out on screen resolution.
Does JB still have the bug where on the lapdock you get 10 FPS and on the phone its nice and smooth?
Actually I'm getting decent FPS with Paranoid Android. It's still not great but it's WAY better than it was. The start screen for Need for Speed: Shift and it's pretty good. Galaxy on Fire 2 THD works like I expect it to as well. My guess is that it's been fixed in Joker's latest CM9's and yeah CM10 as well.
I doubt it will be perfect until Moto releases ICS officially though (and hopefully they can use something out of that to help with CM10 too).

I doubt my lapdock would work if they didn't. Also I've tried the cable with a DVI adapter and that works fine, so yeah.
If you meant CM10, I have no clue yet but I'm getting tired of waiting for a CM10 based parandroid (which is what I'm going to call it for short from now on, because I think it's clever).
I've flashed cm10 and will give my lapdock a try when its charged. The is some mention of changes today but I haven't read the change log.

I just flashed it, didn't even bother with the new gapps yet though. Came over from Parandorid 1.6 and all I did was wiped the caches.
So far no issues but I absolutely HATE the app picker. It was much easier with ICS where you picked it and checked always use if you wanted to. Now you have to pick it and select either just once or always (so two taps instead of one).
Loud sound lapdock
On [ROM] CM10 (JellyBean) for Atrix - 20120729 very loud lapdock sound in mirror mode. What I can do on it?
What do you mean loud? It functions normally for me. Maybe turn down the volume? Sorry you're going to need to be more specific as to what the problem is.

Very loud minimum volume (level 1).
I tried with both the phone speaker and the stereo system I plug it into and I could not replicate the issue on my end, sorry.
You did check all the volume levels right?
Posting a logcat might help someone. I'd mention the issue in the main thread.

So just to make it clear. You dont have webtop with the flashed rom?
Is there an ICS ROM with working webtop yet?
I only use the Atrix with the lapdock in GB. Is there an ICS ROM with proper support or do I have to wait for the official ICS?
NO ONE has webtop with JB, let alone ICS. If they do they're *******s for hiding it from the rest of us.
The devs are working on it. Official ICS *SHOULD* bring it when it hits (if it hits, which I'm sure it's going to it's just taking forever).
What I'd really like to see is companies release all the source code for their "dead" devices. But it will probably be a cold day on Mercury when that happens.
I don't even have a webtop like interface either, nor will I until paranoid android comes out with a modified CM10 of their own. My hope is then that I can switch DPI without having to reboot.

I mean this question in the most sincere way. I know there are some incredibly talented people out there working very hard on AOSP roms. I'm just legitimately curious and admittedly ignorant. What is so difficult about removing the HTC sense rom and replacing it with a pure stock android rom like what's found on the nexus? I know a rom like CM9 aims to add back in a lot more to the AOSP so I can imagine how difficult that must be to get everything working. If all that's being done though is just installing a pure Android rom on a phone already running Android (with a bunch of crap added in), what would make that a difficult task, that to the best of my knowledge, is still not done yet? At the risk of further showing my ignorance, what makes it different from the PC world where you could re format a PC and install a fresh windows OS on it, and get rid of all the OEM bloatware.
Thank you.
A lot of it must be rewritten from scratch because the drivers and what not are proprietary.
Please use the Q&A section to post questions in.
For starters, you dont get AOSP ROMS by removing HTC sense. You get AOSP ROMS by building from scratch from googles code.
Thats what takes so long. Getting googles code to work with our proprietary (read: no source for the devs) drivers.
The other part of it is the devs arent working on ICS(CM9). They've skipped that completely and are working on jellybean (CM10)
Deck has a build that is pretty friggin sweet.

How close to a daily driver would you say Deck's CM10 build is right now? Last I checked the only thing missing was the camera which helped out with some other bugs that had been happening. I could probably live without a camera if everything else seems to be in tip-top shape.

Hi there, it's me again!
After being away for quite some time due to a lot of issues with my netbook, and being busy with school, I recently checked the progress on the Flyer. As expected, Dexter did an excellent job already on Jelly Bean.
I tried the ROM, and I gotta say I'm quite satisfied with it. FWIW, I am thinking about getting the 3.0 kernel from the DHD to run on the Flyer. But, I have another project I'm thinking about which sounds more interesting.
So, is anyone interested in Open WebOS on the HTC Flyer? I am considering to give it a try this week, but only if there is some potential interest from the community. It would pretty much be an effort where I try to combine various challenges: getting WebOS to boot, and getting the Raspberry Pi to compile Android kernels, since my netbook does a horrible job at this.
Please report if it sounds interesting for you, and if I get positive answers, I'll do some research on the structure of OWOS.
Although WebOS seems nice I'd rather see you beat the crap out of JB and try to get it fully working until you say "I can't take this any further".

I'm not sure, I actually think JB has 1 major dev working on it. Sometimes it's better to have multiple, good, mostly stable options too chose from than 1 completely perfect one.
That aside, I don't use bluetooth headset so some people who do really want the devs to pool their work into that.
I'm all for web os though. And dual boot (don't push yourself ) would be awesome.

I am using the latest JB ROM atm., and I'm wondering (since I haven't followed the development the last 2 months): what is really broken atm? Aside from bluetooth.
Mine VM with Ubunto is stil there for u if u decide to give Flyer some more of your time. Am I interested? I am interested in Flyer with as much hardware working posible; working BT for voice calls, music and movei playback. As long as those work well i dont care even if it is Win 3.11EE if it runs nice and smooth. However Geting camera and hw movie playback suport on JB would be very nice and would get the ROM to TOP level. U cracked those nuts on ICS; any way u give it a try on JB?
Welcome Back CHAOS I agree with Antis (even though I don't really Know the advantage of WebOs) i was hoping that You could do something like get the front camera working for Skype

I remembered that in the old CM7 days, using the US camera libs caused the camera to go flipped. However when using the Intl camera libs, the camera was in the right orientation. Perhaps you could try that to see if it'll work?

Sorry that no one really addressed your question. The galaxy player dev community is kinda fading away since, well, the device is getting older and less practical, so there are less users. Anyways, see here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1848595
