Hi,
as here in this forum are so many people with great knowledge, I hope somebody can help me:
Is there any way to make the integrated notificiation LED of the Tablet S usable for calendar notifications? I tried it with and without lightflow but the led does not blink when there's an event reminder. And a notification for an appointment is moreimportant than email notifications.
Perhaps somebody has a working solution
Thank you
I'm Affraid there is none ATM, but its a great idea, sadly it will not be as easy to ask to the official calendar app maker, which is Google in this case, because not all devices has this function, in fact even if all devices support this way of alarming, then not all users want to have this option, but you could always try to contact google via google play, and search the callendar if its not shown in the market then you should send a normal message, tell them to make a checkbox within the app, so you can choose to use or block this option,
personally i hate it, because i take my tab regulary to my bethroom so sometimes i get a notification and my whole room is flashing green xD very annoying,
Maby i'm not right but as far as i know there isn't any option like this
Ps: understand that my english is not that good, cause i'm still dutch XD
Goodluck!.

I used LightFlow (the free version) for a short while and it reminded me of calendar events, as long as there was a Reminder set in the event (i.e. for 10 minutes before etc). I never had problems with it. Did you set up the Calendar notification in LightFlow?

Hello everybody,
I updated my GT-P7510 to ICS and noticed an annoying behavior in email-notification. It keeps notifying me of incoming email, even though I read the mail, it notified me of. As this didn't help, I pressed the delete button in "notification", still no change - every several minutes (not in equal intervals) it kept ringing. Has anyone experienced something similar with his/hers GT-P7510? Does anyone have any idea as to why it behaves like that?
Thanx

Same problem here.
Incoming mail setting are double checked, don't know if this is normal behavior....
Not shure if it helps, but i had the problem when i used the app light flow for LED control with ics on my nexus. Everytime my LED started flashing, i read the message, but still the led was flashing afterwards.
The difference in ICS, regarding to the developer of this app, is that ics don't set a flag for noticed notifications. That means regarding to your email client you are using it could be that this client doesn't see an read messangs or interpretes that as still unread.
Or could it simple be that you use a different client for yor mails, besides gmail and the mail is still unread in gmail app?

Personally i use gmail app, which works great, and samsung email app for different accounts.
On samsung mail app, only on one account i face this problem, so i guess has to do with this specific pop mail synchronization and exchange messages server.
Can't say much to this, because i only use gmail respective k9 with imap on my tab. But what i can say so far is, that i don't have this issiue with my configuration. Maybe your hind with pop3 leets you to the solution.
Hi Folks. First of all, I'm new here. I just created a profile to suggest you the following:
Pushbullet; it's an app that allows you to send and receive notifications, links, files, etc, between devices.
So, I was thinking if maybe somebody knows a way around to use this app as a substitute for the Osmart Companion, that doesn't work so well and also depends completely on bluetooth. I'm using it right now to manually send stuff from my smartphone to the TrueSmart, but I just found out that Pushbullet now supports Tasker integration, what makes me think that, if you know how, it is possible to create a profile on Tasker that allows you to automatically send a notification to your TrueSmart whenever you receive a SMS, for example.
However, despite being a huge fan of android and apps in general, my programming skills sucks really bad, even at Tasker, which I guess must be programming for beginners.
Has anyone already tried to do something related? Please let me know.
Thanks!
I haven´t try that app, but I´m using 'Notisync' and, at least for me and until now, it´s working. The only one thing I don´t have got: automatically unlock the screen (I´m using Oclock) and show a window with the notification content in. For this, I´m using 'Notify me!' app. It turns on the screen, but not unlock it (it only shows the notification content if the screen is already on). I continue investigating .
I hope this helps someone.

I have tried many apps and so far at least this one tells me when someone is calling, i cant get it to alert me of texts though, i use hangouts as my text service default app but i even tried the standard messages app and it still doesnt allow the texts to go through, did you have to do anything special for the texts?
as for pushbullet i started messing with it the other day but all it does it notify my watch that theres a message waiting on my phone i still need to look at the phone to see/reply to the message.
figured out a way with pushbullet and tasker to show who the text is from and what the message said, now if only there was a way to reply

I don´t use SMS and never try that. But I tried an app called 'Tablet talk' that can syncronize SMS and phone calls (even when you receive phone call, it shows a window showing the contact photo and bottons to interact with that call). I configured the phone as 'phone' and the watch as 'tablet'. The problema I had was the same: it doesn´t unlock the Oclock screen.

Yeah i've been a user of tablet talk for a while and it is a good app just looking for others since i dont like always having to reconnect them together.
Hey everyone,
I contacted the developers of Push Bullet a few weeks ago when I got my TS. He indicated that it was a space they wanted to occupy for wearables and tablets. They have a number of things they're rolling out for their primary app first, but it's on the slate for the future.

how did you guys get it to install? Side load? It wont let me install from the play store since it says it is incompatible with device. I love pushbullet, and would love to use it with the TS
Yeah side loaded from dropbox.
sent from my note 3 running beans.
For sms I have been using google voice, hangouts and the XVoice+ Xposed plugin. here's how it works:
1) I have moved most people to use mt GV number to reach me as I have several PH numbers so step one is socialize the GV ph number.
2) XVoice+ forces all sms through the google voice app
3) in the google voice app > Settings > Sync and Notifications set recieve text messages to "via the messaging app.
4) if you want to use hangouts go through the steps to make it the default SMS/MMS client otherwise you can use what ever SMS app you want.
default result is I get the same conversation on my phone as on my PC as on my watch. For me this works out well.. the only issues i have are broadcast messages that are short message based like twitter to sms. Google Voice will not support these messages.

glad to hear it works fone on the TS though!
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Here is my pseudo-complicated situation: I have a gate sensor at the front of my property that communicates wirelessly to my automation system. The system can then notify me via text or email anytime my gate sensor is tripped. I would like for my phone to simply act as a doorbell by just making a sound anytime someone drives through my gate. So far I have accomplished this but unfortunately for my organized & partially OCD brain, my phone's notification bar is overloaded with messages that I have to clear several times per day. Basically, I would like for it to make a sound but not to show any icon or notification in the pull-down notifications menu.
I have tried several SMS apps (Handcent, GO SMS Pro, Chomp, Textra and stock) and have been unable to find a way to accomplish this. The closest thing I've found is to use the "privacy inbox" on several of these apps that allows me to place any messages from the automation system into a different inbox. I'm able to give it a different sound, different icon and different (or no) LED blink color. Unfortunately, this still leaves my notifications pull-down menu riddled with alerts from my gate sensor.
I don't know if there is an Android-based work-around or if anyone can recommend a decent SMS app that would give me this option. I have tried the same thing with email but not only do I run into the same problem, but the delay in the syncing of the email defeats the purpose because the person will usually already be at my door before I hear the tone. Because of this, I would like to stick with the SMS method.
There may also be another option that is outside the box that I have yet to consider.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Ryan

Hi everyone. I've finally managed to get my Google calendar on my Huawei to give me notifications for Reminders! However, I would really like repeating reminders on these notifications in case I don't see or hear the reminder or just plain forget to do what they say! Ideally I'd like the notifications to keep going off every couple of minutes if I don't respond to them, and Google calendar doesn't have this functionality at all, as far as I can tell.
I tried a Program called calendar Notifications Plus, which looks perfect for my needs, but doesn't seem to work on my phone, it simply doesn't pick up on any reminders I set, so doesn't actually do a thing on my system.
I noticed that in the Google settings you can specify an alternative calendar app, so I was going to try that with a third party calendar app. Does anyone have any recommendations for an app, ideally with this repeating functionality built into it, and on top of that I'd like to talk to Google assistant to set up the reminders if possible, like I do currently.
For example I say "Hey Google, remind me to punch a badger at 12pm today" and it sets up the reminder which gets put into the thirtld party app, which will notify me at 12pm and then continue to vibrate/play a notification sound every 2 minutes until I dismiss the notification.
Anyone have any experience running a setup like this please?
Thanks so much!
P.S - I really wouldn't recommend punching badgers as they (a) don't like it (b) can be quite vicious, and (c) often carry tuberculosis. ?
Ah, turns out the Alternative calendars setting isn't for alternative third party apps, but for alternative calendars, like Chinese, Hebrew, Indian, etc.
So I guess my new question is - does anyone know how I can get notifications to repeat and keep beeping/vibrating every couple of minutes until I dismiss the notifications?
Hello.
First sorry for my bad english if something is not written corectly and i hope this is the right place to ask this question. Me and my wife use the google calendar to manage our tasks and common events. When one of us add a new event and adds someone to this event as participent i would like to recive on my android a push notification in drop down menu of the phone so that i know something has been added to the calendar and i can confirm and accept it. I know about the email notification but to be honest i have missed it many times when you get lots of emails. Is there any way to get push notification like FB has for all of its ****ty things?
