Stupid question: the app says you don't have to open the app before you place it on the sensor. Do you just unlock your phone and bump from the home screen?
I used it for gas. The lady in behind the counter was amazed. As cool as NFC is, I don't see it taking off anytime soon. I see no point in it.

Google Wallet
The frist time i used google wallet i got ask to see my ID which i didnt have it since i just came from the gym so he didnt let me buy the items i wanted and this was at chevron . the next day i i went to a diffrent gas station to put $10.00 of gas and the cashier said they didnt accept it when on the front door a big sticker says google wallet acceptted here !!!! anyone else run into this problem ??
I haven't used the $10 credit yet but I think NFC is pretty bad ass. Visited 7-11a couple times this weekend. First visit all the cashier could utter was "whoaaa". The second time the girl looked at the other cashier and said "wow, did you see what just happened?"
I had trouble with it a couple times though. Not sure what the issue was. The last time I used it to pay at the pump and it was flawless.

Just tried it at 7-11. Turned on screen, scanned it. G wallet asked for pin, then said scan again to send. Scanned, message came up to ask cashier to check transaction or scan again. Scanned again and went thru. Now, I wanted to open up gwallet to which it said says wait to initialize....wtf?. Now I can't open it at all. Contemplating a restart but to lazy atm.

Walked into best buy yesterday to buy a new washer and dryer. After that was all said and done I walked over to the mobile section wanting to get a look at the new Galaxy Note. Well 30 minutes later I walked out with a new ATT contract and a Note.
I still am under contract with sprint for another month but the reception in my area was just slowly getting worse and worse. AT&T has great coverage here so I figured I would give them a try. The only thing I will miss with sprint is unlimited data. But I rarely ever used more then 2gigs anyways.
The note on the other hand is a pretty awesome device, for a heavy texter it's a dream. And the screen is freaking beautiful. Battery life is amazing as well. Been unplugged for 12 hours and still 30%.
But when compared to the Photon it does feel inferior. As many of you probably agree, the Photon is a amazingly built device, inside and out. The note does feel like a step down, so I'mnot sure if I will stay with the note but I will be sticking with AT&T.

Let's take lazy to the next level, I'd set up a tasker profile which would automagically send a text to my GF when the app alerts me the washer or dryer is done.
Washer/dryer tells phone it's done > phone uses tasker to send text to GF > clothes magically appear in closet.
Winning lol

I have never had anyone like AT&T nickle-&-dime me to death like they do. Surprised how they held lock on iDouche toy so long. $79.00 for 1400 minutes. $19.99 for unlimited text. $29.99 for Data. $2.99 cause Im Afro-American. $1.99 cause I'm not white. $0.99 cause I'm not Mexican. $1.99 cause I'm not female. $2.99 cause I did not use condom. $19.99 cause I post on XDA! $2.99 cause I'm not gay! $2.99 cause I might be. $2.99 cause I'm lying! $2.99 to the Republican National Party although I'm a Dem!. $2.99 to the DNP to fight the RNP. $2.99 to North Korea so they dont have Nukes! $5.99 so Solomani Pirates. $1.99 to City Council.
Then they had the nerve to tax me on the call I made from the strip club? Come on, if I'm at the strip club, who the he** could I possibily be calling? My girl? I seriously doubt that! My boy? why would I let him in on my action? My mother? really? AT&T sucks!
Haha . I did buy Samsung washer and dryer but not that fancy.
Yes I've heard stories from both sides about how bad and how good they are. Just like any cell provider.
I really liked sprint but it seems like my reception was just getting worse around where I.work and live, with my job I am on call all day so if I can't get calls then I can't make money so that really made me want to switch. But I liked everything else about them.
Thanks for the heads up on the bill. I will watch it.

Still under contract with sprint until the end of next month so I can't sale the phone quite yet. And if my wife wants to save her upgrade for.something else later she will take the photon.
It's only 3 months old, bought it off craigslist bnib. It's had a invisishield since the first day, and an otter box a few days after. I found the otterbox was giving it scuff marks on the top so I took it off and literally a day after while I was doing a oil change on my truck I went to pull it out if my pocket and dropped it. So.I has 2 tiny chips and 2 corners. Not bad though since the.phone is all dark..

Suckers.
Maybe he would take your address and email address from your evo 3d and use that information to steal your mail to make sure that you never recieve a bill again.
lol some good responses. I was in a rush to get to work when I got the text messages so when things calmed down it hit me - a contract is a contract you will always have a bill until it ends/cancels.

This reminds me. When I first got Sprint it was with a SERO account. I ordered a phone (Mogul) and they accidently sent me 2 but only charged me for one. I called Sprint and they had no idea what was going on but told me to send one back. So I sent one back. The next month I realized they put a $200 credit on my account. I called them back and told them what happened and even explained my theory about them refunding me for the phone I returned. The CSR assured me they would fix it. They never did. SERO was about $30/month so I ended up with like half a yr of free services. I'm still with Sprint and SERO.

I before I lived in the apartment where comcast didn't charge me for paid on demand, I lived at another apartment and came home to a letter from comcast explaining up to that day I was receiving service by mistake so they disconnected it. I was living there for like a year and a half. I was the sucker that time.
Another time I got fired from Wells Fargo so the manager made a credit(bank lingo) and paid for the hours of that pay period. About a week later, I get a direct deposit for the same amount from them. Then I closed my account. Suckers.
has anyone been using their LTevo to buy anything with wallet in stores with NFC scanners like 711?
I went thru the trouble of turning my citi mastercard into a paypass tap and pay mastercard until i later learned that Wallet ONLY accepted citi paypass CREDIT cards and not DEBIT cards. Bummer. But thankfully Wallet lets you transfer money from bank accounts into Wallet to use within your Wallet prepaids. Its super easy to spend all my money now! Every morning when i go to 711 iv been playing via wallet with my evo and the guys there go nuts over it thinking its the coolest **** ever lol.
the only problem i have with it is that when it means "tap and pay" it really means "tap and pay" the NFC scanners on the card machines have VERY little range, i guess for security reasons. i literary have to slam my phone into it for it to read it.

Figuratively, I was able to pay for gas with mine. It was pretty close to the device before it began to sync up but did not have to tap it.
I had to remove my case, which I didn't like doing.
I have been using it. The first time it worked great. The next 2 times I had to scan it twice. Not sure what is going on. The first transaction just says "sent" and they say it didn't go through. The 2nd time i swipe it works.

I've used it twice at two separate BP gas stations, using the $10 credit that Google gave us for activating Wallet.
It worked great both times. I just turned on my screen, held the phone on the PayPass sensor for about a second, and then the phone vibrated and the Wallet app popped up, asking for my pin number to unlock the app. I entered my pin number, touched my phone to the PayPass sensor again, and it popped up with a receipt on my phone.
Yes I've used it at two different 711 and a rite aid. I got the unsupported device notice but it works just fine. I am using the prepaid card though. And just adding money.
Sent from my E4GLE via xda app
I used mine at a soda machine. FYI if it is your first time using it on a vending machine, don't forget to press the 'complete' button or you might be paying for the next persons snack
I've made two payments, one at the 711 and another at best buy and it works great. The only complaint I have is having to reenter the pin even when I have the app open to make a payment.
I can't wait to try it tomorrow morning at McDonald's.
I swear Walmart purposely hires lazy people.
I go in yesterday, saw an Evo, tried to get it. They couldn't figure something out so after about 1 hr and 40 mins, I left empty handed.
Today, I go back in.. tried the same thing over again. They couldn't figure anything out, and refused to listen to me when I tried telling them something (because I knew what the solution was - reading from other threads.) The Manager was so fed up and just gave me the phone at the $158.00 price. Lol.
So needless to say, I still had my upgrade.
I went to a different Walmart and got myself another one for my brother. Lol.
I guess the 3 hrs spent on this non-sense was worth it.

I am beginning to think only legal action will force the involved parties to deploy a much needed fix to Google Wallet.Anyone else?
Not while Sprint is preparing their own service. They will need to figure out contractually what fits their business model and that will impact you either way. Class actions are not for that purpose.

Even then you've not really got anything to sue on. By the time they even processed paperwork though their legal divisions the issue would be resolved.
I did tell sprint that I wasn't paying my $36 activation fee until it was fixed, because at this point in time my phone does not function like it was advertised too. They waived it.
No.
The only thing 99% of class actions do is make attorneys richer while clogging up the courts.
At this point in time,we HAD a service from Google that was working, that is not at this point.Anyone who loaded funds on their Google prepaid cards is pretty much f*cked right now.At the moment, noone knows who is really to blame,so all 3 corp. are liable as defendants.

Is your phone rooted? Also, how much did it cost for the app? Did you really buy the phone because of the app? See where I'm going? There is no grounds for a lawsuit. Even lucky to have the activation fee waived, because you are activating the device not the software.
I'm more frustrated by the LTE tag or being charged $10 for premium data when I barely get 3g, dropped calls, stuff like that.

Not that I would recommend a CA suit but its pretty much leaving the funds, inaccessible with no forward communication on a known issue.
The ball would be in Google's court.
Still, rather than a useless & costly fight its best as an XDA member, to root, edit build prop & keep it moving.

Wallet at this point is stupid. Why would anyone fund a wallet account from a perfectly good and capable credit or debit card? Most credit cards comes with protection against unauthorize use, but by putting it into a wallet account you lose some protection and have to play by google's rules. I know some people what to use the phones NFC feature but come on, how many times will one go into a mcdonald or gas station to use wallet before the novelty wears

I would hope LTE wasn't a driving force for purchasing this phone given Sprints history with 4g roll out. I bought this phone for ics, bad ass duel core, amazing screen, awesome camera and sense 4. I don't care about LTE or google wallet.

Yup. I'm with you. Heck, I rarely got 4g...lol. everything else os just as expected. Awesome device for free for me... Traded my og evo for the 3d even up, and traded my 3d for the lte even up. Haven't had to pay for two years out of pocket. You won't hear me complain about anything but dev related issues.

I'm more upset that they are offering the phone we just paid $200 for a month ago at the low price of $49!:banghead:
