Got 2 upgrades under the same line. Lol. - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

I swear Walmart purposely hires lazy people.
I go in yesterday, saw an Evo, tried to get it. They couldn't figure something out so after about 1 hr and 40 mins, I left empty handed.
Today, I go back in.. tried the same thing over again. They couldn't figure anything out, and refused to listen to me when I tried telling them something (because I knew what the solution was - reading from other threads.) The Manager was so fed up and just gave me the phone at the $158.00 price. Lol.
So needless to say, I still had my upgrade.
I went to a different Walmart and got myself another one for my brother. Lol.
I guess the 3 hrs spent on this non-sense was worth it.

Lol Wally world.

Lmfao nice

I find that hard to believe. First the register wouldn't allow it without the managers override. In that case I'm sure the manager would know Walmart will not get paid unless they activate the line.

The people and my walmart were super excited to sell it to me because they wanted to see what it looked like turned on, and mine was the only one they got

One day he'll wake up and find that Walmart has charged his chard for $400 ($558-$158).

The manager did over ride it as he stated he was the one who gave it to him for that price. And second do you think the manager cares about wally getting paid? Doubtful due to lack of benifits, good pay, promotion opportunities, etc. also most employees at wally are half retarded if you have not felt that way talking or dealing with them feel lucky.

Yeah bro ok cool story I'm sure the store manager never did a phone activation before and had no clue the phone must be activated for them to get paid.

Nope. I've got the receipt right here brah. Says $170 w/ taxes. On both receipt.
The second was done right but the first.. the manager did a "price adjustment" or whatever and just gave me the phone.

No where did I say the phone was activated the first time brah. if you weren't such a skeptic fuk, you'd notice that I wrote he just gave it to me. I called Sprint myself afterwards and had it activated.

My experience today at Sprint

The sales lady at Sprint across from the Falls in Miami told me i couldn't buy the phone unless i bought 2 accessory's that they were doing a bundle only sale.
I told her to get me a manager, she went and spoke to someone and when she came back she was rude and told me she would just do it.
anybody have the same problem?

Happened to me @ RS. Then the manager walked over and I said are you really going to force me to buy a screen protector and an Otterbox case?!? He said no u don't have to, we're not forcing it on you. Then the salesman helping turned to the manager and said, "oh we're not?". I was about to flip out! *SMH*
My CSR asked me if I wanted any accessories, I said no, he said "are you sure" , Yup.. ok no no problem... I worked sales before I get it, he wasn't pushy with me, sorry you guys getting ****ty people :\
My sales lady wasn't pushy at all. She asked if I wanted to buy any accessories, I told her no and that was the end of it. I was in and out of the Sprint store in like 15 - 20 minutes.
Went to Sprint store and wasnt even asked if I wanted any accessories.
i actually bought a mount and car charger needed one for my evo and never got around to it so i decided to do it now or i probably never would. plus i got a extra discount.
I work at a Sprint store and we don't do anything like that. You can walk in and buy one with no stipulations. Do you know if it was a corporate store or indirect retailer?
I've had it happen. They are never supposed to do it but sometimes they will when they think they have a hot phone. It's to boost their sales numbers. Last time they did it to me I emailed [email protected] and had the manager of the store chewed the F out.
Also you can say yeah I'd love to buy the accessories and then right after they ring them up go you know what I don't want those anymore please return them. Make sure to open them first though so it really screws with them.
When my uncle bought his evo the same thing happened to him. Are you sure that its a corporate sprint store, because if its not and its a 3rd party sprint, they try to pull that bs on you.
I work with some sales reps that do that to customers. Some managers train/tell the employees to say crap like that.

what best buy did you go and get your from? i only ask cause im from the area. I usually go to the one by the international airport in River City.
I was asked if I want to buy accessories. I said no. The rep said "well, you'll really want to. This is a $500 phone you're buying here!"
I wanted to respond with - "I will buy some accessories, but not your overpriced junk." But i didnt.

I would have gone to store to buy, but I'm on SERO still. Only choice was to deal with telesales and now I have to wait until 28th to get my phone.... sucks too because my tp2 has been broken for a month.

What would you do...if you suspect someone stealing?

Ok.....heres the deal. About 3 weeks ago i saw a ad on craigslist about a epic touch for sale. I use Textplus App when I text someone on Craigslist...but anyways, i texted the person to inquire about the phone.. He said he was a manager at the Sprint Kiosk in the mall down the street from my job. He said that he was selling the phone for $500. I was like, thats full price. So I declined and took my business elsewhere.
About a week later i see an add in Craigslist from the same person, this time selling a iphone 4. I use my sister's phone to send the guy a text about the iphone 4. Again he says its brand new and still in its wrappings and he's selling it for $400. I passed again...
So last Friday, i see another ad on Craigslist for a Epic Touch, brand new and sealed. I make contact with the person, via regular text. Its the same person as before. He tells me that he's selling the Touch for $500 or willing to trade it for a good computer.
I offered him a laptop or two phones. He accepted the offer but after a couple hours, i contacted him to let him know i had to think about it.
Yesterday he texted me and now says he has a brand new Iphone 4s, wrapped and seal and that he can get me any color i want. He told me he'll sale it to me for $650 or my laptop, one of my phones plus $150...i said, hell no. Thats too much to give away. I then tried to call his bluff. I told him to text me a copy of the receipt showing he paid $650+ for the phone. He said that he didnt have a receipt and that it was a direct ship to his job (the sprint kiosk). He said that the order receipt doesnt have his name nor a price on it. I then told him that i noticed that he was selling a new phone almost every week and selling them for full retail. He claimed that he has a family plan and that since he's a sprint employee, he gets phones for the 2 year price.
My guess is that he's stealing the phones and then selling them. I find it strange that someone has a different high end phone every week and brand new at that.
What do you all guess?

I'd say if your worried about it then make a call to Sprint and report what info you have. Then it will be up to them to look into it. If they don't, you did your part and Sprint can only blame themselves.
if it's a corporate kiosk he could get fired for that whether he bought them legitimately or not. our employment agreement says we can't sell phones at all as it's a conflict of interest since you would be competing with the company you work for. most of the kiosks that are left are 3rd party but i'm sure they have a similar agreement

if youre going to accuse someone of stealing you better be sure they are. it sounds like you do not have any real evidence to prove that he is.
Still sounds fishy.
I would give what info I had, the links on craigslist, and let Sprint or the 3rd party store take care of it themselves. Let them do the investigating.

I'm basically just going off of speculation and assumption. But all in all, it just doesn't sound right....selling high end phones every week, brand new, can't produce a receipt...then says it was a direct order to his job....(the spirit kiosk)....sounds fishy..

I would still call Sprint and have them transfer you to the right department and have them investigate, try HR - Human Resources. BE SURE TO CALL AND HAVE THEM INVESTIGATE!!! Ask if they can call you back and let you know what the story is. Good luck!!! Make sure to call, because this will make prices go up if he is stealing!!!
What do you mean prices will go up?

First off bro, don't mean sound rude or anything cause that ain't me...but if something doesn't seem right to a person, they normally stay away...no matter how good the deal may be. I definitely don't need the police knocking at my door saying I received stolen property or sprint contacting me telling me the phone I have was stolen....
Also, remember he texted me this past time about the iphone...I didn't contact him. In addition, I don't think i NEED cold hard evidence...this isn't "The Peoples Court"...lol. But I do feel that maybe Sprint or whomever should look into the matter...

I'm going to be honest here. I used to work for tmo in the past and I sold phones on Craigslist, **** ton of them. I was the #1 rep in my district for a very long time and I had new devices falling out of my ass lol. I won so many phones from HTC, moto, Nokia, Samsung, blackberry etc I didn't know what to do with them. Before tmo changed up everything I think I won 2 or 3 phones a month. They said we couldn't sell them but what the hell else were I supposed to do with all these smartphones? Was I wrong? probably. Did I care? Ehh not really I was young and just saw this $_$. The moral of the story is either hes winning them in contest/drawings or has stealing them and others are in on it. I wouldn't get involved though let sprint etc catch em!

[Q] HELP! Am i screwed!?

Hola 3D users, Just bought a HTC Evo 3D the other night off craigslist. At first the seller seemed pretty legit as we meet at a QT ( local gas station ) here in Tulsa,OK. Long story short, this phone is currently being used but not in service meaning they either forgot to pay the phone bill, or they cancel the account. Either way, i just got screwed out 180 bones. Yes i took a shot in the dark , but i was posting on here to see if there is ANY OTHER WAY BY ANY MEANS to get this working. Thanks for your time.
If he sold you the phone, then it's likely he wanted to cancel the service on it. Otherwise, you'd be using his number and what not. As long as it has a clean ESN, you can take it to the sprint store and get it activated. Tell them you bought it from someone who is no longer with Sprint.

If you have a bad ESN, there's nothing you can do to get it working on Sprint. They won't do it. You'll only be able to flash it to Metro PCS. I would try and get back in contact with the seller. You should ALWAYS check the ESN status before you hand over the money.

I think your only alternative is to flash to cricket or boost, or sell it on eBay with a bad esn. You can probably get your money back.
If they cancel their Sprint account, the ESN is still clean. Bad ESN's come from theft and what not I believe.

Yep, not much you can do. Remember, NEVER trust people haha. Seriously though, I don't understand why people buy phones in random locations. Just meet the seller at the Sprint (Verizon, at&t etc) store and swap it right there.
The only thing you can do is contact the seller and see if they are willing to buy it back, or pay off their bill. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do to make them do this, and since they obviously were trying to screw you in the first place, I highly doubt they will do the right thing and pay off their bill.

Unfortunately, the buyer has ignored all my phone calls , texts, etc. This really sucks because the phone is in amazingly good shape, as well as it was a upgrade in my postion going from the 4G to 3D. Good news, i think i can manage to switch to Metro PCS. On that note, can anyone speak on behalf of Metro as far as service, signal. I see Metro is a pay-as-you-go, but i wanna make sure its a soild service. As well as good 4G. Thanks again.
This is why craigslist is scary. There is no guarantee or anything. Maybe you will run into the guy again and you can kick him in the face

Someone on CL texted me recently asking if I wanted to trade my 3VO for an Optimus V that was hacked to never receive a bill. I didn't ask how, simply "No thanks" however this doesn't seem possible or legal. Should I do anything or just ignore this person?

I remember an old, old hack for a Phillips Savvy that with a bit of solder you could hack it to each reboot be reloaded with £10 credit... I wonder if anyone is still using those phones - I think I have one in my loft somewhere with a bunch of other phones.
but no - I agree doesn't sound legal at all.

lol, I think you could say a phone with a blacklisted ESN is hacked to never receive a bill.
I used to live at an apartment where for some reason the cable company used to never charge me for paid on demand movies/events.
Suckers.
Maybe he would take your address and email address from your evo 3d and use that information to steal your mail to make sure that you never recieve a bill again.
lol some good responses. I was in a rush to get to work when I got the text messages so when things calmed down it hit me - a contract is a contract you will always have a bill until it ends/cancels.
To me the guy is just a joke but I'm sure to less tech savvy people he's causing problems.

I got away with this for almost 3 years except it was that the complex once supplied cable to the residents but they cancelled doing it. However, Comcast forgot to come out and disconnect it...for three whole years lol. This reminds me. When I first got Sprint it was with a SERO account. I ordered a phone (Mogul) and they accidently sent me 2 but only charged me for one. I called Sprint and they had no idea what was going on but told me to send one back. So I sent one back. The next month I realized they put a $200 credit on my account. I called them back and told them what happened and even explained my theory about them refunding me for the phone I returned. The CSR assured me they would fix it. They never did. SERO was about $30/month so I ended up with like half a yr of free services. I'm still with Sprint and SERO.

This happened to me.. sort of. I ordered an a900 through the phone. Got desperate, called and canceled it and got it at the store. Then got one in the mail afterwards. Never called or got charged. Activated it after one of them got really damaged. And they said nothing...

Ok here are to more stories...
I before I lived in the apartment where comcast didn't charge me for paid on demand, I lived at another apartment and came home to a letter from comcast explaining up to that day I was receiving service by mistake so they disconnected it. I was living there for like a year and a half. I was the sucker that time.
Another time I got fired from Wells Fargo so the manager made a credit(bank lingo) and paid for the hours of that pay period. About a week later, I get a direct deposit for the same amount from them. Then I closed my account. Suckers.

Too Good to be True... but What is the Scam?

There's a guy who is supposedly from a store here in Los Angeles who says he can sell me a new Rezound for $100 even if I'm not eligible for an upgrade yet. I've looked up the store and it exists, I've seen the pics, he said I could go there and I've seen something that says the store has been in business for 22 years or something like that.
Now I saw his listing on Craig's List. I emailed him. His email back had bad grammar and spelling and didn't come across as very professional.
Yes there new. We are a private company for verizon business department so when you upgrade through our sytems you get to keep unlimited data because we offer it if you where not a Verizon grandfathered customer. We can do early upgrades because when you tranfer over to us youe number automatically because eligible by terms and conditions.

So... what can the scam or the risk be? I'm under contract, bought the phone from Amazon end of last November. What can happen to me? Get slammed with early termination of contract? How would this place stay in business if they do this sort of thing?
I just tried my last hope of reviving my phone and it didn't work, so I need to get another one soon. Been without for 2-3 weeks already. ouchie.

I know he wants my money. What I'm trying to figure out is what is the risk to me and what can the scam be? The store has been around a long time.
He's going to scam you into getting into a long term contract with added fee's to make up the difference in selling the phone for so cheap..
Stay Away!!!
If it sounds to good to be true, it normally is, stay away and pick up a phone off ebay

It sounds an awful lot like they are selling other contracts somehow. As in you are getting another account that is unlimited data... Or the IMEI on the handset is bad, and if that gets reported you have a brick, if the cops cone asking you about it... Well it happened to me with a computer repair job.
Phones can be cloned too. That happens. They're hacked, can become black listed etc.
Read this

The mac books were traced to me, and I helped the cops and all was good for me, but scary when they ask HOW you got the device and ask "didn't that seem too good to be true?? Are you dumb?"
Don't do it.
Trust me.

Either a child, or a foreign guy.
If it sounds too good to be true, it is 99% of the time a scam.
Common sense 101.. If it's too good to be true it probably is.
Dont do it..reconsider.
When I had Sprint they would call me twice a month with deals to upgrade my phone early, only catch was you had to sign up for another line of service. They wouldn't tell you that till they actually started doing the upgrade.
I'd say go investigate it personally. If it looks good, doesn't require another contract, and the ESN is good (call a VZW store to confirm), then maybe you win. You can always walk away.
......my $.02

That is true, they can't force you to buy it.

Yeah, that's what I figure I'll do. Seems that what might happen is my current contract is violated and I would have to pay early termination which would then make it more expensive than just buying a phone.
And I was almost talked down from the ledge...
I'm also going to see if I can strong arm Verizon into giving me a phone under warranty. It's worked for me before with Sprint, although my contract was up and so I could go get another phone free starting an new one with another provider. This time I'm still under contract. Worth a shot though. Trying to decide if it's best to do that with a call or in store.
haha cmon, i guess my word wasn't enough to convince you otherwise?

lol. Don't worry, I really do love and respect you.
I mostly wanted to see what people thought could be the scam/risk. I still don't see how a business can survive a good length of time if they are scamming their customers.

yet they scam customers by releasing minuscule updates on their phones as a brand new product to force their moronic customers into buying the next one. so again, they're a company that scams morons and is still in business.
the only reason they have the "best marketing of any company ever" (which i won't even go there, because it's simply good marketing in this idiotic country) is because americans are sheep, juvenile and just plain ignorant when it comes to most things.
