Hi,
I'm expecting to get my TF300t this week. I see it being used for note taking and such during my meetings. Can you please suggest a good stylus and a note taking app?
Thanks!

as far as app wise goes, your tf300 will come pre installed with supernote which is an awesome app. stylus wise I dont know too much about but this look promising http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/hand/hand-stylus
as T_VASS says, supernote is very nice for note-taking. and is designed with a stylus in mind.
I got a very nice weighted stylus in a walgreen's for about a dollar, if that helps at all.
it's pink.
My favorite note taking app is Lecture Notes. It is available in the market. As far as styluses are concerned, I have had good success with the Caseen stylus with the mesh tip. Very little friction on the screen and good accuracy.
Found a couple of styluses:
http://www.amazon.ca/Griffin-Techno...0K1Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1338302986&sr=8-1
http://www.amazon.ca/Targus-AMM01TB...1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1338303031&sr=1-1
http://www.amazon.ca/Stylus-Samsung...8?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1338303031&sr=1-8
http://www.amazon.ca/GreatShield-Ba...7?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1338303031&sr=1-7
The question still remains- which one to choose????
I picked up a Vivitar stylus from Office Depot. Overpriced - yes. I had a return and store credit. Haven't used it for long but it's buttery smooth.

Hope this helps.

Hi all,
My understanding is that all of these will work with any tablet. Obviously some will be better than others, but all should be functional. Bottom line, if it says it works for a tablet, you should be good to go.

Looks ok but i can't imagine why such a simple thing as a stylus pen should cost 20 eu. I bought one for 5,90 eu. Even that is way overpriced.
note taking app
I haven't tried the Supernote app installed on the TF300T, I've been using Evernote and am extremely happy with it.
If you want more than the ”metal tube with a rubber end” type stylus, which IMHO should not cost over $5, try the Jot. I liked mine so much I got the mini for my phone.

I have a dagi p507 It worked great until I put the screen protector on my pad. T_T it's been getting better though, since screen protectors tend to lose the rubbery feeling after a couple of weeks.

I got mine from ebay a couple months back for $13. Here's the link to the company's website
Since the tip is made from plastic it gets a lot of friction from the screen protector. It has gotten better overtime though, not as good as using it without the protector. Also be careful when using it, some ppl say that it will scratch your screen, it hasn't happened to me though.
That Dagi is as much or more than the Jot. At least on their website.

You can still get an Adonit Jot and NOT go over $20. The Jot Classic is $20 shipped. I'm not allowed to post links yet but the website is cellmacs.com
Of course you're going to be giving up a little bit like the magnetism and the rubber grip, but as a stylus it still functions like the rest of the Jots.
Thanks guys....the adonit pro is about $40 in Canada. I'm leaning towards Kensington Virtuoso...seems to have got good reviews.....

A capacitive touch screen is just not going to give you the accuracy the old resistive screens. The Lenovo ThinkPad with a digitizer is going to superior for that kind of use.

Like I mentioned earlier, the Acase V2 stylus is a bit thinner than the avarage stylus. Maybe not half but it's pretty close to half the width.
See a comparison photo here.
I've been researching on amazon, YouTube and etc for a good stylus for my future prime. Since I never purchase a stylus before and have no clue which to get can you guys recommend me a good one? From personal experience...
Jot Pro and iFaraday

Thanks i'm interested in the iFaraday but it seems like they aren't taking any order till the 19th. Which one have you tired diesel?
I just received my Jot Pro yesterday and so far I am liking it a lot more than any other stylus on the market (and I have tried quite a few). Very accurate, and feels great in your hand.
My only grip is that I wish it had a clip to 1) keep it from rolling off the table if you forget to "dock" it with the magnet, and 2) so it could better sit/clip to a shirt pocket.
Aside from that minor annoyance, it is a quality stylus.

I feel like this would have to be written specifically into whatever app you're writing on-- ignoring the first thing if multiple touches are registered or something along those lines.

I plan to do some serious note taking with this thing, like hour long meetings...the OG transformer has a note taking app thats pretty good right?
I would like ot have this functionality, but am worried about the multi touch thing. On this I think I will wait for a few reviews of the note taking before I grab a stylus. Someone who has a stylus, or more specifically the Jot, put up a review on how it works with the Prime please once you get it.

I have read an article that said that palm canceling was baked into ICS along with other stylus features, some of which will require hardware.
I hope it ends up working like it does when using a digitizer.....how I wish the prime had digitizer hardware! Per pixel accuracy and no palm/hand issues, along with erasing.

I would be careful with those. Friend got a cheap capacitive stylus for his phone, and it's sticking to the screen. I bought a fancier one (kingston I think), and while I have my complaints, it glides MUCH better on the screen.
I am looking into Jot Pro, since I am not a very big fan of "eraser writing tip"
Writepad has palm rejection. Also for other apps - hide your palm in your sleeve so it doesn't register as touch.

I'd cancel your Boxwave order and get the jot pro. Yes it can be noisier, but it writes 100x better. SMOOOTH and accurate. Seriously, there is no comparison between the two.
Does anyone have the Jot or Jot Pro stylus, and if so, have you had any issues with scratches on the screen or diminished accuracy after a few weeks of use.
Is there any metal that protrudes from the plastic disc that could scratch the screen?
I have seen several comments in other places where people have said the Jot stylus has scratched their display (Amazon has a commentor that has posted a photo of the scratches caused). And I have read that the accuracy is not as good after a few weeks use.
I have done some research and contacted the manufacturer (which replied very quickly). The explanation seems to be that dirt on the screen can cause the scratches and that the plastic tip can get loose/worn out. Apparently there may have been some defective tips early on.
*****
This is an excerpt from my email to Adonit:
I really want to buy a Jot Pro but I am apprehensive to spend $30 if it is
going to scratch my screen, or if it is not going to work as well after a
couple weeks of use. These issues seem to be common in review comments I
have read online.
I read one review comment that said there is "a metal protrusion in the
center of the disk. It’s very noticeable." I thought the disk was plastic.
If there is a metal protrusion I can see how it could scratch the screen...
Have these issues been resolved since the Jot and Jot Pro were first
introduced? If so, what has been done to resolve the problem?
I have a tablet with gorrilla glass (Asus Transformer Prime) on order, but
even with gorilla glass, I don't want to chance scratching up my brand new
tablet.
Please advise. Thanks!
*****
And this is their reply:
We have tested our product extensively, and the precision disk has proven to be very safe, even after prolonged use.
However, a sharp piece of sand or grit pressed very firmly between the Jot disc and the screen will probably scratch it, so take care to maintain a clean iPad screen. If the screen is not clear of debris, it will become scratched with the use of any stylus, or even just your finger.
We don't want you to worry, so if you think it will be a problem for you, we highly recommend that you use a screen protector to protect your screen from environmental dust and grit. Please be aware that Jot does not work well with the following screen protectors, due to their extra grip surface.
* Zagg Glossy Invisible Shield (but Smudge-Proof Invisible Shield works well)
* Ghost Armor
* Bodyguardz
* Skinomi
* Wrapsol
Glossy protectors are the least compatible with the Jot. We suggest looking at the Power Support Anti-Glare screen protector; we've heard that it works brilliantly with the Jot.
We are here if you have any further questions.
*****
Anyway, I thought the info in Adonit's reply would be useful regarding screen protectors, etc and I really would love to hear from Jot or Jot Pro owners regarding their experiences with it.

Thanks bud.. Just ordered, code worked for me!
I also really like the Poetic Case. Doesn't add a lot of bulk, yet provides good protection. I like that it does not cover the bezel, unlike other leather cases such as the Caseen. My only critique is that the grooves in which the Prime rests in at 3 angled positions could be a bit deeper, as sometimes the Prime will slip out of the groove, particularly the first narrower angle groove. Other than that, great case for the price!
May I have the a coupon code? Want to order one for my Prime. Many thanks.

You got the case with the white stitching (as opposed to black stitching) around the outside edges, right? I know they sold 2-3 versions of the case that are very similar to each other, but not the exact same.
My case has black stitching, or very dark, if you will.
For the money, this really is a good case. I've been very happy with it so far. I only bought till better cases came out ,but now I like it so much I haven't even bothered to look for something different.
I' looking for a case which helps the tablet stand up but without a magnetic button to close it.
I feel eventually the magnet will move as it has done with my phone case which is really nice but doesn't snap close anymore. It probably won't happen so soon with the tablet but I prefer a non-magnetic closed case. Found one on Amazon UK but it's £20 and looking for something cheaper.
Asus has a nice (for a while) slim casethat uses velcro on back under a flap to hold it but its 40 dollars and after about 3 months it gets loose but holds in the tab... not bad other than that (ive been using it since january)

I believe the RooCase Ultra Slim does not have a magnet... maybe someone who owns one can verify that?
Thanks for the replies.
I have looked at many threads on here but they don't have an update of what the case is like months after so the Asus one could be an option. I'd prefer under £20 though but I am open to suggestions.
Oh please, don't get the Asus one. It is overpriced and quality is bad. Only suckers buy it.

good to know but I don't trust spending 30+ for an item that only has 2 reviews...i don't need a stylus and i'm sure i can find a combo deal or separate deal on screen protectors. thanks though.

I had one of the cases from Amazon with the hard plastic lock. I didn't like that there was no way to access the charge port while it was closed and the speakers were on the bottom while playing music/video using the stand in landscape. I put my transformer in upside down and the lock bent the charge port.
I tried a few other cases, but the one I've liked the most so far has been from Newegg market: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA0U008T4548
While in portrait view it doesn't stand terribly well as the grooves are a tad shallow. The closure for it is an elastic band, but I hardly use it.
I'm considering buying this one, because I'm looking for a slim case (tablet only) with some viewing angle stands, and this one looks really nice.
Do anyone of you have it? Would you recommend it? Does the tablet get damaged from the sides?
thanks!
I would recommend this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007P657RI/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01 over the VersaSleeve, I have both and the VersaSleeve is more of a carrying case (for tablet+dock).

I use the VersaSleeve for a couple of months now, and I think it's great. As said earlier, it really is a 'carrying bag' which also doubles as a stand for the tablet. But if you want to use the tablet, you need to take it out of the 'bag', which is a big advantage for me because I don't want to hold a tablet and extra case, which makes it only heavier and thicker.

How does Versa Sleeve do with the docking? I think you can carry both the tab and the keyboard, but is it possible to USE the "netbook" version without taking it out of the sleeve? Any picture to show it mounted?
How's the accessory pocket?

I am very happy with the MoKo Flip Stand Cover Case
Here is the one i am using and i just cannot get over how much i freaking love it.. I am beyond impressed. Its 12 bucks.. took about 2~3 weeks to get here. But well worth the wait. My step mom got a case for her Kindle, has the option of putting it up in a prop mode. Like for watching movies. But she paid freaking 30 bucks for it. The quality of my case is (in my mind) better than hers, it has the function to rotate the device to prop it up in landscape or portrait. I cannot explain in words how amazed i am. Prolly the best quality product i have ever gotten from China.

How's the buttons, port and slim case? Does it fits properly?
How's the build quality? Does it leave any mark on the screen when close? I have this case on my kindle and it kinda leave stripe mark due to the fabric from the case but it can be easily removed by wiping and doesn't leave any scratch. I also want this one but items from this area usually takes 2 weeks minimum.
Another thing it looks like it provides 2 viewing angle, on my kindle its only stable when landscape and it falls back when portrait mode especially for lower angle viewing.
would appreciate if you post pic showing the thickness and how it stand for both landscape and portrait in both viewing angle.
I think I will be getting this one especially available in prime
I have the versa sleeve. Got it on samsclub.com for like 12$ thanks to someone here on xda posting the sale!
I like it a lot for my needs. I had a thick poetic case, but it was too bulky. I prefer to use the tablet naked and then have the sleeve to use as a stand/carrying case. It is thick, durable and I don't worry about it when I throw the tablet in my messenger bag. The stylus loop on it is a plus.
