sorry for the total newbie question, but I've tried to find by myself and couldn't :
I've installed some apps (weather channel, Astrid tasks and others) for which I'm sure there's a widget, but for some reason, from homescreen/menu/add/widget, they do not appear. In fact, I'm stuck with the initial list of widgets available and can't see anything new there.
Would you be able to help me? (I'm still on GB, not ICS)

Make sure your widget apps installed on phone memory, not sdcard.

Hello everyone!
Recently, I decided to finally root my phone and install a custom rom on it. So far, my experience with slade87's MiniCM has been great... But I have come to miss Sony Ericsson's Sync app. Is there any way to install it on a custom rom?
I have already tried installing the .apk from an unmodded phone, but the program refuses to open; and also checked other posts in this forum. Unfortunately, the only solution seems to be using Google to sync contacts with the phone.
I know, there's nothing wrong with Google Contacts, but I got used to SE Sync already, and in a more practical note, I don't want these contacts to merge with the ones in my Google account.

I just installed the megadroid 1.4.1 ROM for my htc sensation and assuming following issues:
How to add ICS widgets? If i hold on screens I only get possibilites to change wallpaper, no widgets or anything else :/
2:
Rom did not download apps and data that was synced before with Google. Of course I checked after installing that the phone should sync with Google.
Further on if I browse on the android market on computer and send installation via browser with apps, nothing happens.
Something I broke up myself or general issue?

I want to know how apps for example Appredeem tracks my phone? I installed CyanogenMod 9 on my phone over Android 2.3 (I deleted all information in the device), I used my other Google account, I installed Appredeem from Market and this program still showing my info when I used it with Android 2.3. Maybe Appredeem tracks my IMEI, etc.?

It can track IMEI because its unchangeable and its great for tracking purposes or it can use the phones serial number.

Im using miui rom and there its possible to check wich apps does what
for instance if u really dont want facebook to check youre location
u are able to deny facebook the access to locations
or other apps to get connected with youre mesasges or something
Installing a new rom, wiping data/cache etc. usually doesn't wipe the sdcard contents unless you manually delete/format it.
Did you make sure there wasn't any file left?

This morning I played with Themer and it crashed all my user's data.
What I did :
I was playing with a theme (did not remember its name but I can find it again if needed), added a new page, added a 1st Themer widget (clock), then added a Themer calendar widget
What happened :
As soon as I placed the Themer calendar widget on the launcher, the phone crashed and went to reset. It starts (not bricked) but...
Consequences :
- all the apps installed on the SD are missing (but the SD seems to be safe though). They do not appear anymore in the apps' list.
- all the data of all phone-installed apps are lost : I get the 1st run wizard on all applications, and no more personal data on any of them
- event Themer goes through a 1st run wizard, and when I switched to my previous launcher (ADW) all data were lost too (default layout, etc.)
I am currently going through a Nandroid backup and AFAIS everything seems to be there so what's up ?
- how can I restore the user's data ?
- how can I make the phone see the apps from the SD again ?
Of course my Titanium backup is quite old, but I think it is normal business when something goes wrong with one's device ;-( ;-( ;-(

I know this seems like a horrible thing to ask, but can you get your phone to a state where some of your apps, are installed again (does not matter if they are old), you are running the same rom same version, and using the same kernel with the same kernel tweaks if you had any.
Then try it again. Id like to see if your results are repeatable.
We have never had a report of this or anything like this and we have more than half a million active users.

following problem:
I use on the Tablet like only 1 Homescreen, sowas like PC work table. It is then marked automatically as the only screen of the TochWiz with a cottage. There are only five links and one weather widget. So, a lot of space for many new shortcuts I'm working with.
But, recently, when I install a program or a link from the website, or a link from a file with the help of the stock file manager to the desktop, then a Homescreen is created and the new link comes.
And this is not marked as main screen.
They all land there as well.
Then I had to move them manually and delete the newly created desktop. That annoys me and I do not know what is the cause.
I have deleted all as possible with the screen prorammen to be deleted.
I've ransacked all the settings.
I have deleted the cache over recovery
Dalvik cash without root can not be deleted anyway.
More is not for me.
