root - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

We always ask the devs here for kernels,Roms and roots. I understand the amount of time that goes into making them. I fully believe with using the donate button if you can. I am willing to put 100.00$ cdn down to the first dev who release a root method for locked bootloaders for the xperia s, similar to zergrush, superoneclick etc...
Pm me your info.

Is there going to be root with hboot 1.49

Those of us who downloaded the third leak, and those who have bought a new phone now can't get root.

Seriously? Are you illiterate?
patience is a virtue.
It's a well known fact that those Eris users with hboot 1.49 currently cannot root. It may take a long time to root because the devs work on this stuff in their spare time, not to mention most are now working on roms because the previous hboot versions have been rooted. Be patient, it could take quite a while. I'm currently running 2.1 leak v3 so I cannot root. It's not that bad.

When it comes it will be the top news in all eris forums and should be hard to miss.

ok
The only big issues I still have with my 2.1v3 if the singnal bug and my pars not showing correct... So I'm in no rush. But I'm sure the Devs are working on a fix seeing as most replacements and all leaks are a new hboot.
It just takes time.
hopefully devs will work on it during the summer

[info] S-OFF French EVO 3D SFR impossible!!!

Just to inform that is impossible to s-off and root the French EVO 3D because the HBOOT is not recognized by the unrevoked & alpharev's software.
French users have to wait now... again & again
I doubt the hole the alpha rev used has already been patched; you'll likely get the s-off after a week or so once they get a chance to look at it.
Did you try Temp Root?

What exactly is your hboot? 1.3 1.4? Or something different because the beta key is only created off of 1.3 and 1.4

Get back on topic and stop bickering. Since your hboot is 1.49 it is not incorporated into revolutionary. There for it doesn't recognize your phone and you can't generate a beta key. Alpha rev has some very talented devs give them a little. They have their program setup in binary so even if HTC downloaded the program it would be very hard to decode from what little strings could be decoded. So with that being said, your hboot might still very well be vulnerable to their attack. So keep your hopes up
Hopefully that answers all of your questions and you can close the thread lol

[REFERENCE] Ice Cream Sandwich – from source code release to software upgrade

i came across a very interesting article on Sony Ericsson Product Blog... SE seems to be working on ICS and outlines what all goes on to get stuff to work...
here is the link: http://developer.sonyericsson.com/w...from-source-code-release-to-software-upgrade/
i have posted it here (in development section) as i think it will be useful for users to make them aware on what all goes on in development for new OS version release...
also do keep in mind that even the device manufacturer (SE) has to do so much work; so u can only imagine the amount of work/efforts the devs (here at XDA and other android forums/portals), who are working on sources, are pouring into making this work for the community...
please do read it... its very interesting...
regards,
DooMLoRD
First we take the clean blazing fast Android OS. Then add a whole bunch of useless crap to bog it down because we feel it works too well on your handset as is.
So does this mean as soon as the source code is released from sony we could easily flash this to rooted R800x plays even with a locked bootloader

It's impossible to flash a custom rom with a locked bootloader. S1 boot will not allow the flashing of unsigned images

That's partly incorrect... U can flash custom roms on locked bootloader (flashing via recovery)... How do u think the users of Xperia 2009-2010 devices have survived locked bootloaders
But u can't use FLASHTOOL to flash them as FTF/.SIN...
Sent from my R800i using XDA App
I Remember with the droid X and 2 the locked bootloaders didn't stop development on it i believe koush made a boot strap program to get flashing to work :/, also that was a very interesting read.
It's not an obstacle either for the Xperia bootloaders, given that the same people here brought custom ROMs to the bootloader-locked older Xperia models. But again, they decided not to try to bypass the locked bootloader, seeing as there is an officially sponsored way to unlock it.
Damn :-( I just can't seem to get the fastboot commands working on windows XP damn it's age!

For us to do that, we would need to work out a solution to make /boot/ writeable on a locked BL though.

With locked bootloader using root you should be able to use a shell script to boot into a custom recovery. But as we have no other ways to flash kernels, roms are mosty limited to stock.
Correct me if I am wrong.

the whole meaning of this blogpost is "why we will deliver ICS in 4months from now" or "why it will take ages to release ICS on the Xperia 2011 line" they could also release ICS clean without any Sony Stuff and provide a "skinned" Version later,i would prefer ICS as it is on the Galaxy Nexus personally
don`t really know what they are trying with this post other than an early excuse why it will be long time till we see ICS on the xperia 2011 line..
Man glad I got rid of my verizon play I upgraded to a samsung stratosphere the play could of and shouod of been a hit but

What are people's thoughts, opinions etc on it?
Seems like a good idea for people with a data limit
Just downloaded it, lets see how it does.
Edit.........
Just tried to open it and it says that it will not work on this version of ics, there is no Tun/Tap support in this kernel, which is Sony's kernel :banghead:
Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
I'm running de-bloated stock ics and it simply states 'vpn unavailable'.

I just tried again with advanced ics 11 kernel and eventhough it ran I couldn't get to any settings to set it up, on the setup it asked to create a vpn but I don't think it actually created one.
So I uninstalled it.
Oh one other thing, it wouldn't let me use tapatalk.

Here's mine
Ok. So I was installing and uninstalling some apps I didn't care for, and accidentally uninstalled 3DMark. When I reinstalled it, my results were no longer there. Since I couldn't compare mine to others anymore, I ran them again. Here are the new results.
BTW. I am not rooted or debloated. I have not done any tweaking either.
