Has anyone had trouble with the software update - HTC Rezound

Everytime I go to check for a software update it starts checking then goes off quickly without telling me if there was one or not. Any suggestions?

I was in the same boat as you. Check out this thread:

You can check the first and last post in that. The way I got around it was by activating my sim in another rezound and then swapping back into my original and it all of a sudden worked. Dont really know why, but i know another person got it working that way too.

It took on mine over wifi. I never activated my 3D so I don't get 3G or 4G.
In fact the only reason I have it is because I tried to play green hornet movie and said update required so I have it even if I'm not sure I wanted it. Lol
Then I tried sprint tv app and again... UPDATE REQUIRED! I guess I won't be using that app .

Updating the DNA on AT&T

Hey all,
So I'm using the DNA on AT&T and it works great. My question is, how do I go about getting the new software update that's being pushed out to other users while I'm on AT&T? For some reason, my DNA won't pick up the OTA on AT&T, and even sticking an old, deactivating Verizon SIM in it won't work either. I've also tried just using no SIM on wifi and checking for the update but still nothing. Any way I can download the RUU or something? Thanks!
how to unlock network AT&T
I think you can just download the update. Zip on the server and then flash it to your phone and you will have the update I know people over seas are probably going to do it that way since they can't get the ota in another country where there is no service.

Wouldn't flashing a zip require root? Or are you taking about an RUU? I'm not rooted and don't plan to be, just want the ota.

Does the new OTA rooted still fix problems with the sim card?

I've always had problems with the DNAs sim card not being found but I've noticed this happening much much more than usual. Its annoying having to constantly restart my phone so it will recognize the sim. On the additional information about the OTA it says it fixes sim card problems, will it still accomplish this goal with a rooted ROM based off the ota?

I updated to the ota and it still happened to me. Just once. Went on my Verizon wireless account and changed device to the same phone, rebooted and all is well. Hopefully it doesn't happen again. Good luck!

Some people report that it actually does, some of then even says that the have better signal reception...
on my droid, i installed the update and the signal strengt is like the same, but i havent had no sim card issue anymore
Just an update... Happened to me again just now....lol

It is supposed to fix the issue but I assume it only fixes a specific issue, so its possible you can still have the issue if your sim is dirty or broken. The update is just a radio so just get it and flash it.
Just a radio...exactly what I wanted to hear. Why download a whole new ROM if I can change up my radio. Thanks guys, if only there was a way to flash radios without fast boot:/

I flashed the new radio and have noticed that my sim card fails significantly less than previously. It still happens every once in awhile but not nearly as much. Just for anyone belse having issues

Do I need to worry about not being able to root?

Hey guys and gals, I am coming over to T-Mobile from Verizon on Thursday, and most likely getting the HTC One in the process.
Maybe this is a Verizon thing, but sometimes when you accept an OTA update, it will break root, relock the bootloader and you are stuck without root if you take the update.
Do I need to worry about that on T-Mobile and the One? In other words, when I'm in the store purchasing the phone, should I try and stop them from running any updates? Or can I root regardless?
Thanks!

If you root on tmobile then you won't get any OTA updates, so that's a moot worry. Luckily the updates pop on here pretty quickly so you can simply sideload them.

I understand that and I totally intend to root my phone. But what if the sales rep runs the update on the phone while activating it? Will I still be able to root and s-off?

I'm happy without root. Only thing that I hate is that I can't get rid of kids mode, that water game, carrier iq, and lookout. However, because I have the premium handset protection I got the paid version for free recently which is nice.
As well as the T-Mobile apps visual voicemail (i want to use Google voice and can't) , T-Mobile tv, and the name id app that has since expired from the trial period which is stupid if you ask me. Spend $600 bucks and can't get something like that free.

You can disable Lookout and the T-Mobile apps in Settings > apps > all
Scroll down and find them one-by-one, click on the app, click "disable"
wala!

Might be possible to go BACK to MDL!

So I went in to best buy today to have them flash my phone back to stock. I had talked with the guy the other night for a while and he was pretty open to helping me out no matter what. I left my phone with him while I looked around. When I came back he said that the sock firmware was flashed and that the updates were installing now. I asked what updates and he told me that since my phone came with MDL that is what was installed and that the updates had to be installed to bring it current. I asked him if he could have stopped the process before the updates and he said he could have if his boss wasnt there. He said that Verizon has a single package that won't allow this but that it's possible with att.
Just thought I would throw this out there in case it helps the effort somehow.

And after thinking about it this might be why AT&T hasn't released mf3. Image for kies

Did you have the ME7 firmware on the phone originally?
If you did have the ME7 firmware installed did Best Buy give any clues as to how they managed to install the MDL firmware?
The phone came with MDL and I was Loki'd. Then the update came overnight and I was then on MF3. I deleted some system apps and just wanted to get back to stock. The Samsung rep said that since my phone originally came with MDL that is what gets installed and then the updates are added.

Sorry to add an AT&T thread to verizon, it was by accident, but hopefully it might be helpful anyway.
