Hi there,
I know, there's a couple of discussions about this topic but none of them could actually solve my problem.
I have a rooted Galaxy S2. I used titanium backup to uninstall the Swype version coming with the ROM. Then I cleaned every file containing "swype" from my device with root explorer (also /system/app/swype.apk and /system/lib/libswype*.*).
After that, I downloaded the Swype Installver v2.0 from the swypes beta page. I logged in with my swype account and installed the most current swype version. So far, so good. Everythings fine till this point.
After installing Swype it says "Licensing Swype, please wait..." for hours. I don't get past this point, independent how hard I try.
What's wrong?
Thanks!
OK, solved the problem - finally. The new Swype is awesome!
Hi there,
I can post a question on the thread for this particular ROM so hopefully someone cleverer than me is watching this forum.
I have installed the resurrection ICS Remix 1.0 ROM on my S2 and it all worked perfectly....restored all my apps etc....and then realised that internet wont work and messaging wont work either. These are the only two apps I have found that wont currently work.
When I open up messaging after a few seconds the screen goes black and then 20 seconds or so later it says "unfortunately messaging has stopped" its a similar story with the browser.
If anyone can help I would appreciate it. This ROM looks awesome but I cant live without messaging and internet obviously.
Thanks in advance
Wipe/factory reset. If not, do a clean install of rom (do not restore apps/data; particularly system apps).
its the restore thing
I think your probably right............I did restore my messages and I think I pressed app + data.......I dont think I did anything to the browser though.

for anyone with the same problem........I did the wipe user data thing in the recovery console which worked a treat.
Hey guys since i install the new update i found that we dont have the swype key function like before. What is the problem or cause of it?
I thought they took that function away. If you want Swype, go get the original. I believe you can still sign up and they'll send you the download link, and you just install it like a normal APK.
Question answered.
Every time I try to change my software keyboard input, I get the error 'The application Settings (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.' I have downloaded several different keyboards, but cannot use any of them. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Are you on stock ROM, rooted stock, cm7 or cm10? If on cm10 what gapps version did you install?
I used this guide to install Swiftkey on my NT running CM10

(And FWIW, I found that Through Google - great stuff Google! )

Thank you, Asawi. I did look on Google, I really did, but I think I was a little too specific in looking for the error that I received, rather than looking up keyboard problems.
I tried the steps in the link that you sent, but they dont seem to work. I am trying to install a keyboard called Swype, and I downloaded an APK that I am told is a beta.....I suppose that doesnt matter?
When it says alternate launcher, would Go Launcher be a good one to choose?
I rebooted several times, but the new keyboard does not show up when I run the Accessibility shortcut that I created.
Thank you so much for your help
I haven't tried Swype myself but it is discussed in the topic I linked to. Have you read the whole thing, and it's still not working?
I think I may have lied when I said I used that guide on my CM10 install. I'm not sure it was needed there. I did use it on rooted stock though. What are you running?
Sent from my NookTablet using Tapatalk 2
I have now installed Skype Beta 1.3 on my Tablet running CM10 without any problem. No special procedure needed in CM10, just install as any other app and activate through the regular settings, language and input.
Rooted stock needs a little bit more fiddling though.

I am pretty sure that I am running CM7....this is the link that I used to root my tablet:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1439630
Perhaps I should upgrade to CM10? Do you have a good link for doing that?
If you have followed that you're running rooted stock Not CM7.
You can test run CM10 by running it from sd. Very easy. All you need is here: http://iamafanof.wordpress.com/2012/11/18/cm10-0-jellybean-sdcard-img-for-nook-tablet/
Thank you so much for your help, Asawi I followed the directions that you sent me, and after having a bit of difficulty with part of them (I had trouble understanding why I had to use drag and drop to modify the zip files, but I just followed the directions and all worked correctly) it worked like a charm.
I guess I WAS a little stupid thinking that I was running CM7 because one of the main topics with that OS that I was running was to block the OTA updates (which, of course, means that they are updating the Nook OS, not an Android OS)
This Jellybean OS looks REALLY nice and I am having a lot of fun working with it.....I also like the fact that it is all installed to my SD card so I still have access to the stock (unrooted!) Nook OS and reader as well......I just use the Nook for reading books, and boot to Android if I want to do anything else.
One thing that I would like to be able to do is access a couple of apps that I bought from B&N when running Android. Is that possible? If not, no biggie.
Again, thanks for your help!
Jim :good:
Isn't that sd card awsome?! :good:
I don't think you can access the BN apps while in Android mode, But most of the freebies I checked out there were freebies in Play Store as well, so I got them there instead,
And half the time I just follow the instructions without having a clue whyI do what I do except "it works".
I'm running Hyper-drive 5.7 and it has a white keyboard. I would like to make this keyboard available to other Roms but I can't seem to make it work. I took the samsungime.apk out of the rom but when I try to install it on another Rom it says that it can't be installed. I restarted and it says it's installed but it force closes when I try to make it the default keyboard or when I try to use it in any way at all. Any help in this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
