[Q] Hello, I'm new in Mini! - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hy all,
I just got my Mini.
Can you give me some tipps, which kernel and ROM would be the best for everyday using and for gaming?
Also, other tips are welcome too
thx in advice.

Don't change anything, even don't update your phone until ICS comes; I promise you that's the best way playing games and etc.

update, root your phone install cwm recovery, remove bloatware. if you notice problem with back and manu keys just fix it(there is a solution on this forum).
maybe is better to wait day or two for ics release, and then pimp your phone.

I can tell you that the ICS will not be highly recommended for gaming because their OS is a bit heavier than GB. So I think you like games and wants to apply a custom ROM. This is because at risk but you can search for Rage Kernel or X Kernel for V17 Hybrom told me that it is brutal for Games. I tried to install on my LWW but could not. IF you are modifying your ROM PLEASE MAKE A FULL BACKUP WITH CWM. NOT TO CRY AFTER A BAD SET KERNEL

Ok thanks. I will use stock ROM untill a usable custom one is available

Is It Worth It ?????

Hi all, i have neo mt15 just got ics update few days ago.
happy with it 'cos now i can download gameloft game data as wifi is not working good before.
but is it worth putting [ROM][ICS][Neo/Neo-V]Locked/Unlocked BL] JJ's HYBRID ROM v3.0
that rom on my neo instead of stock 4.0.4?
any advantages available from this not in the stock 4.0.4?
Thanks for reading people

How about you read thread of that rom, and see what it brings new to you. Then make your own choice if that is what you need from rom?
i suggest you to stick to the stock rom . it is the most stablest and is official too .
Yeah stick with the stock ROM, root and with a little tiny tweak you will have the best experiences ever ....

I don't know too much about rooting for ICS. I rooted my phone since it's GB .
Tweak some little things: root and uninstall not used apps (some app you can't do uninstall the common way), install some useful apps, go to settings and change some options for battery life and performance (disable Bravia Engine, FB inside Xperia, location services, some app's sync...), do backup and enjoy.
After some time racing for custom ROM, I ended up missing the stable GB ROM for Neo/ Neo V , but now I'm happy enough with KA 20.1 ROM.

[Q] {Q} BEST COMBINATION OF ROM AND KERNEL FOR SK17i???

Guys what combination of rom and kernel do u most prefer for mni pro coz i been having a trial and error about this roms and kernel...tnx for the answers and explanation on why...
I am having the same issues. I find X Kernel gives the best battery life for Ginger Bread ROMs. I have yet to find a ROM that I am satisfied with. Currently I am running a rooted .62 and finding that to be the best balance. I have removed a bunch of apps based on the tutorial in this forum.
So far I've used the stock 4.0.4 ICS ROM with different kernels.
My most favorite kernels that were working are:
EXtended Stock Kernel - v2 4.1.B.0.431 (had a great battery usage... the most I got on-battery with this one was 22 hours with some light usage)
Rage Kernel v3.2 (i loved this one because of the swap and the ability to OC your CPU, but the battery performance was somewhat lower than the EXtended Stock Kernel - v2...)
You can always try the KRsH Kernel v3.0 but I didn't really like that one.
And currently I'm using the CM 9 RC1 ROM (check their official site) with FXP126 kernel and still testing the performance and stuff. So far I like this one more than all previous.
I hope this helps you out a little bit.
If you have any further questions, feel free to ask. And don't forget to hit the thanks button if this helped you a tiny bit
can you give me a link for tutorial for apps removing?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1089470
This link has apps that can be safely removed from the Xperia Arc. I removed the same apps from the Mini Pro without issue. The apps can be removed using Titanium backup on a rooted device.

ICS ROMs are in my opinion still work in progress, buggy if you will.
KRsH kernel v3 is very good at battery consumption
For stability, speed etc I prefer GB ROMs though.
Like CM7.2RC3 + Rage kernel, or Spartan ROM if you like stock. Also on Rage.
In the end it depends what you like. There is no absolute best ROM or kernel.
everyone likes different things.

Thank You very much
how about the combination for gaming guys??? do u have any idea?
and if i am using ics wht should a choose?
ICS sucks.. Bravia doesn't work on my minipro if i dont use xperia gallery app
+1 .. IMHO i prefer to use GB than ICS for a better gaming performance..my current ROM is real ICS lite 29th june, and my kernel is Rage Kernel v3.2 (which i suggest you it's worth to try)..and when im playing some HD game it's still LAGGY (which is not laggy in my previous GB ROM) like Vlachmed said.. i choose this kernel because of its swap capability..i really wanna go back to GB but cant find my old ROM's thread.. (Hybrom V17) apparently the dev has left XdA (too bad)
sorry for my bad english and grammar..
Best Rom and Kernel
Personally I use Real ICS and the kernel is Rage Kernel v3.2 ICS and my phone runs very fast and smooth
Gingerbread
For Gingerbread you can try NeroDroid , and Rage Kernel 3.0

[Q] Please sugggest some ICS Roms with custom kernels!

Hi people..
I have just unlocked my bootloader.. Can you please suggest ICS Roms for better and smooth performance than the stock Rom and the appropriate kernels for them!
And should I first install the rom or kernel?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance!
First kernel, then rom.
Head out to dev section and have fun in testing and finding which is best for you. Everyone have different opinions. But try aosp or aokp roms
try the new xperia pureness v3 its amazing, its still beta but its very good
You can try night elf kernel plus ka21.1 ics rom.
Sent from my MT11i using xda premium
if u want smooth working phone install Polish Blood....
if u want customized with toggles and everything use AKOP,CM9
if u want stock rom use Spacious, smooth and light ICS
but if u want everything working perfectly & smoothly go back to a GB Rom -- codename_ei8ht-----a super rom by a super dev:good:
Get codename eight by emann... on gb..
Else for ics.. try otu whatever u can... i prefer aokp only.. and spacious by shradul..
Rest.. well.. not meant for me atleast..
I use Paranoid Hybrid based on Cynogenmod 9 unofficial version. It's heck of a ROM to start with. You get Cyno feel along with ICS 4.0.4 and also toggle between Tablet UI and Phone UI. It's smooth, fast and gives what you want. You can also use variety of Themes available for Cynogenmod. Please use FXP Kernel.

Though I agree that the rom is excellent, I would stick to 20.1 until issues with the market, gallery, walkman etc is resolved. 20.1 just comes off as a more stable release and recommended for those who don't want to spend time configuring after install. Just my opinion..
A good tip might be to use titanium backup, which can also backup contacts and text messages. Since you often need to format when switching or updating roms.
Kernel & ROM Combo
I also have the Night Elf Kernel plus KA21.1 ICS ROM. No need to factory reset if unlocked and already running a previous version of KA. No issue what so ever on my SE Neo Mt15a

[Q] What's the most stable rom for the X10MP?

My friend is asking me to root his phone, and install a custom rom, so I was wondering what do you guys recommend to install on his phone? Which rom is the most stable and best for every day use? I just need stability over speed.

For now it's gingersony v06, you just need to flash a led fix ( only bug ) but the rest is fast and stable, it just has the problem that every rom has: getting stuck in the keyboard when scrolling maximum up/down on the sym/smiles, you just need to be gentle in that part.
The most syable roms will be Zencefil and Semc Debrand when the new version is released, zencefil may have more battery time of all and semc will be the most stable with that scrolling problem fixed.
If i helped press thanks .
AW: [Q] What's the most stable rom for the X10MP?
I agree to Crazy Seed, Gingersony is the best for the moment, but if you don't want to go through the pain of unlocking the bootloader and flashing a new kernel, I would recommend SonyStyle by BPaul, or, infact, GingerDX pro.
PS: Here is a list of most ROMs for X10 mini pro, you can go through the lists there, too, if you want:

I'm really sorry for the dumb question but could you post the link to gingersony v06 and is it even a rom for the x10 mini pro?

Well, that is a good question: I'm a 'wannabe' dev myself, so I made a rom based on slimroms, which is based on minicm10. I solved the problem of too little space on the data partition, but the performance is still not comparable to cm7 and the sound isn't very good. Everything is working, just a bit slower than on cm7. Do you maybe want to test the rom?

Wow, the first time I hear that project butter is slower then the 2.3.7 version Not really since it's not my phone. I own a Huawei G300 with CM10.1 on it and I can't believe that CM7 works better then CM10 on any device...

You know, the problem is the hardware of our phone: There´s to little internal space and to little RAM, so we can´t really use the, compared with cm7, heavyweight cm10 to its full extent, ask Crazy Seed if you don´t believe me, he tested the ROM for me .

I believe you, but damn, such a waste, you're missing out on a whole new experience. Anyway thanks for all the answers, I guess I'll install the CM7!
Yes it's true, cm7 is the best rom for the mini pro and cm10 is simply too much heavy for out phone, i honestly don't think there will ever be a 100% stable fast cm10 for this phone because the hardware can't take it. Kilroy's cm10 rom it's true that has more space, and it's still in constant testing for perfecting the rom, there's still a long way to go but in time there will be solutions. I don't know why so many people want JB roms instead of GB roms, i tested both and the only difference i saw was that the cm7 performance was way too much better, but it goes with the tastes and choices of people.
Ps: sorry kilroy but i have to disagree about the other roms you mentioned, sonystyle has many bugs and lags and gingerdx has a radio bug and effect rendering not automatic at boot, but xperia blaze 3 rom is good for stock kernel and has walkman player ( i just don't like the srs trumedia that they put in the rom, best to remove it ), or else you just have to go trough the pain of unlocking bootloader and stuff to get Gingersony v06 the best rom for now.
Ps: Kilroy about jb players, now that i mentioned walkman player, why don't you try that one? xD.
Minicm7. its fast, very stable and excellent for everyday use. battery life is good. i have not had any major problems with it. Its awesome!
as been said before in this post, and also my opinion, GingerSony is now the best rom around for x10mini pro

[Q] Gingerbread or Icecream Sandwich which one to choose for WT19i phone

Hello everybody,
I just started this thread to which version of android i have to install in my phone Sony Ericsson live with Walkman WT19i
So the thing is im using stock Android 2.3.4 with firmware 0.62 unrooted and what are the possibilities of rooting
Is 2.3.4 rooting is good and mod some UI like this ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2162275 ) because i like the performance of Gingerbread or 4.0.4 ICS it as alot of features than GB but have some lag on it
What im saying what is the best android version in order to get Ultimate performance in my phone
Possibilities :
New UI
UI no lag
battery backup good
Good features and lots more
no lag on Games
I'm waiting for the good answer to conclude which is the best way...
again another way of asking for best rom
Dude I already told you about that and moreover you shouldn't ask this question and even the section you have posted is wrong.
All I can do is tell you about the ROMs but the best one will be the best that suits you.
Stock(+Custom) GB ROM: These are high on performance and made for gaming and simply are lagless. With some custom ROMs and great mods you can get great UI on your GB and can get ICS feel with GB performance in it.
Stock ICS ROM: Lots of bugs and lags but the UI is not bad but can be better. Also this ROM is really low on performance and gaming and is even loaded with bloatwares and if you are rooted then there will be something wrong with you if you are still using this.
Custom ICS ROM: You can get greater looks, more performance than stock ICS but you may lack a bit on performance(but better than stock ICS) since it is really difficult for any custom ROM also to match the performance of GB but most are stable and good enough for average use. Obviously you need root for this.
JellyBean ROM: Since sony hasn't released(and may never) a JB ROM for our phones so we don't even have an official kernel. Thus you need an unlocked bootloader which will obviously void your warranty. But JB roms have beautiful UI, nice animations and while using CM10 I didn't experienced much lags as such.
Now after reading this you can decide yourself which suits you the best and try different ROMs of it. But don't ever ask for best. Best of luck.
Best Regards,
AJ
