Which rom and kernel are you using and what's the exact problem with USB Transfer?
Sent from the other side... of the screen
It may just be that the usb mass storage app isn't on that rom.
Try a usb mass storage app from play store : Here's one
or it could be a bug in your rom, please be more specific when asking questions like this. if i knew your rom i could tell you.
More detail

Well it's weird though. Stock roms never give issues like this. Probably windows fault. Original samsung cable is important though. Kies is also needed to be installed

Yes of course. I sometimes forget that xda is a library. Not a forum. Silly me.
Not you, the OP. If he can't manage to flash CM/GApps/etc with the simple instructions provided/without people holding his hand to the point of even choosing which version to flash for him, he's going to bust his phone at some point in the very near future. Time and again on here we see people like him do this.

Ah, yes. I agree. It´s not easy to learn all you need to know as a complete noob here. What to do, understand the terminology and all.
But in this case doctor_droid did the OP a solid with answers and links. The OP got answers and should be able to take it home from there.
Hi
Haven't been on this forum since yesterday.
CM works fine.
The tutorials here for installing CM are REALLY bad if you haven't flashed before.
I wish I could make them a bit more noob-friendly.
I understood everything, but the tutorials made me unsure.

no its not a placebo effect..
there is only one reason m running cm9 and thats bcoz of the battery life..
we have 4.3 builds bt i still luv cm9 and thats bcoz i dun like to charge much (no i cant afford a 3000mah battery worth 5000INR )
if u dun trust me u can try by urself...
i use cm9.0 stable not 9.1
battery life is thrice better than 10.1

maybe the "proximity sensor issue" was what caused "vibrate every 45th second" feature of gravitybox not to work for me. it is erratic with the screen off (when the phone is held to the ear / proximity sensor covered). but, if the screen is 'on', it works at every 45 secs. (i moved the phone away from the ear around the 40 sec mark of every minute and checked.) the call connect/waiting/end vibrations are ok.
the "custom build version" of this seems to be the same as mine. anyway, pls. check & report - either here or on gb thread. also, post screenshot of the dialer. thanks.

would appreciate it if you could comment on posts 6, 8 & 10 above. thanks.
I had no sudden battery drops.
Auto brightness works fine.
I don't know abt screen flickering since I never faced it. So might be fixed.
The only thing I think is that the new phone comes with new hardware ie the camera is different. That is why which ever custom Rom I install my camera don't work. Also in the release note they say that the new firmware is backward compatible with old CAMERA HARDWARE.

Hello guys I've been testing @ashyx 's builds and I'm glad to say that we have finally managed to get it to work . I haven't found any major bugs but if you do please let us know. Tested on Samsung Galaxy A700F (Exynos) with rooted lollipop (5.0.2).
Code:
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
I XperiaNoobie and ashyx will take no responsibility in case of bricked phones. Proceed with caution.
TWRP 2.8.7.1
Download (DO NOT MIRROR THIS LINK):
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347832817
You will also need ODIN:
http://odindownload.com/download/Odin3_v3.10.6.zip
How to install:
Make sure you have all of the appropriate drivers for your device.
Let's begin:
1)Enable USB Debugging from the developer options.
2)Shut your phone and then boot into download by holding the Volume Down + Home + Power button
3)Open Odin as an administrator
4)Connect your device to your PC . Make sure you use the original cable that came with your phone
5)Press the Volume Up button on your device to proceed with the installation
6)On your Odin window you should see something like :
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
7)Then hit the AP button and locate the TWRP_2.8.7.0__SM-A700f.tar file you just downloaded
8)After that go to the options tab and make sure Auto reboot and F.Reset Time are ticked AND NOTHING ELSE .
9)Then hit Start.
10)In about 10-30 seconds your phone should be restarting ... BOOM You're done!
Give it some time and when it is all booted up shut it off completely. Then to make sure that the recovery menu is working hold the Volume UP+ Home +Power button to access it. And that's it. If you have any issues i'll be more than glad to help. Don't disturb ashyx!
Special thanks to @ashyx for being extremely kind to help us and gift us the holy gift of custom recovery.
I've also attached a photo of my A700F with the TWRP working.

Thanks again to both of you for putting your time and effort into it, you're awesome!
A suggestion for everyone who installs it, there's a very nice app on the play store named Quick Boot which allows you to reboot to recovery with one tap, easy and useful.
Cool!
Now only thing we need is someone who can build a decent ROM for our Phone hahaha
But I doubt that is going to happen since there is no device tree to be found anywhere.

Someone makes it and posts it on github. Sometimes it comes from the manufacturer, but don't count on that with samsung.
You need files for phone, kernel etc.
I have searched, but there is nothing for enyxos variant out there.

Cool! I'll take a look at it tomorrow. Maybe we can do something with it.
And you can surely test if it comes to a build at some point

Will be difficult indeed i think.
Just tried TWRP by the way. Guess i really need the Original cable it seems. Tried it with HTC cable just now. And even thought it says OK it didn;t work. Still old recovery.
Which root method is the best by the way? Is there a way without tripping KNOX? Want to keep my Phone as Original as possible for now.

When I had 4.4 and tried kingroot it tripped it and also I'm sure if you have 5.0 and root with the kernel set to permissive you will trip it... There's no way out of it to be honest... Knox is an e-fuse if you trip it you will need to replace your MoBo in order to get it back to normal

Man.... i searched a lot today for making a device tree for our version of the A7lte.
It's really difficult. My knowledge does not go this far i'm afraid. So we just have to wait for someone that can do this.
Sorry man.....

Nope that's not going to happen. Samsung is not that willingly to give that sort of stuff.
Not like Sony for example. they have their own AOSP program.
Someone has to create a device tree. I found that the galaxy Alpha is quite similar, maybe you can Borrow that. But i don;t know that much about this stuff....

You can't do anything to fix it ! You'll need a new LCD ! My buttons stopped working too suddenly ( fortunately my 'Back' button still work and I can multitask it )
All you can do now is editing build.prop and enable 'on screen softkeys' ! Change that "1" with "0" and reboot !

First of all you'll need root of course !
Then using RootExplorer app navigate to system/ and open build.prop with text editor then scroll down until you'll find that line from my picture above and change that "1" with "0" and reboot !

When you need to flash TWRP image into fastboot , better use that TWRP file that I gave you.. ( of course you need to rename it into recovery.img like in that guide to be more simply for you )
That SuperSU...zip need to be flashed with TWRP , but of course you'll need TWRP installed first

Fastboot is an phone 'state' / 'mode'.. like when it's Power Off.. Just read that guide and do what is more easy for you.. just get TWRP on your phone
If you think that's too 'complicated' better don't risk , you might brick your phone if you don't know what you're doing

Here's another guide that contains drives too !
I repeat , If you think that's too 'complicated' better don't risk , you might brick your phone if you don't know what you're doing !
One more solution to your problem is to use an third-party app Softkeys from Gplay or just use MIUI Quickball

There's many apps.. just search 'softkeys' or if you want that Quickball , try EasyTouch ( I never used any kind of these apps , but it has 10M downloads tho.. )

Don't celebrate too soon they will start to autopress like mine did , and then they just stopped working at all ( sometimes autopress , rarely ) you'll see...
I just disable my "Menu" and "Home" buttons to get rid of these annoying autopress and now I'm using only my 'multitask' "Back" button
