Has anyone else had random reboots on 9.4.2.21? If so, any solutions? Will the next firmware update take care of this? Will installing a stable custom rom get rid of this problem (assuming it is software related)?

I have experienced the same problem on my newly purchased C4. No solution that i know of.

For the record, I have the same problem. I'm afraid I can't help, though

Read this, it is very likely related.
In my experience this happens while on ICS playing video. Either during playback the video will appear to be in a loop with the video just fine, and then the unit will just reboot.
I downgraded to Honeycomb and played video and had no problems. Overall stability for me was better in HC but I have a few apps I prefer to use that are not supported under HC.
yes it occasionally happens. hopefully the next update will fix all these issues.
tried every rom out there and every rom has random reboots and strange lockups, and most of them have SOD also.....
currently on Androwook, it has the lockups (I/O caused) but no SOD or Reboot so far..

Yes. Put mvideo player to pause and let it be for few minutes. Press play and see the device reboot.
I get frequent reboots when I use a remote desktop app a lot (usually Jump Desktop).
I did try enabling the force GPU rendering option the other day and while it's a bit too early to be sure it seems to have helped. Prior to this, I was getting at least one a day. This was just a theory I decided to try given that I always get this issue and think they must be related: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25381326&postcount=14 Unfortunately, there is always some app that this introduced problems with on my phone. Just haven't figured out yet what that will be on the prime...
Before that, I even got a reboot last week when the screen wasn't even on. It was sitting on my desk at work, when all the sudden the screen came on w/ the boot up logo. Ugh.

The new update broke YouTube again for me. The issue I am having is constant buffering on the YouTube app while using the "hd " setting. Right now I am on .13, before I was on .11 and still had that issue. When I upgraded to .11.1 it fixed the YouTube buffering issue and now that I am on .13 I have that issue again . Gary can this please be addressed.
I can't have the upgrade yet (ww version here .11) and youtube was broken too. Yesterday, Youtube gave me an error every time I opened it. Today, youtube works but slowly, very slowly.
My tf201 is not upgraded so it is not upgrade's fault.
Please, use the search engine before posting
It seemed like on ".11.1" they fixed youtube, not on .11. Now on .13 it seems like youtube is broken again. Also I ran a speed test and i am getting worse speed with .13 then i was using .11.1. I have a 40M connection down. On .11.1 i was getting around 5Mb now i am getting about 3M. My upload speed doesnt seem to be affected because it is getting 5M.
I don't think its the update. My Droid x is having issues aswell. (On same wifi connection) so its probably a YouTube server issue.

This is a YouTube back-end server issue that Google has been working on for two days. It happens on every ICS device I have tried with the stock browser. You will probably see this up and down availability for the next couple of days from YouTube. Any coincidence that it started occurring when they rolled out the last version of Chrome.
Just tried and no issues here runs smooth

I watched a couple of YouTube vids today w/no problems; I did take the 2/8 update. I do think the update affected my battery life though, but I'm giving it a few days to shake itself out.

Yeah, I concur.
From what I've read here and there, it would seem that Google is aware of the issue, and this doesn't necessarily pertain to our latest update on the TFP.
However, that is not to say that I want to quit pointing the finger at ASUS for my issues on this particular piece of hardware.
I think it's just habitual and somewhat human of us to immediately associate all issues with the hardware manufacturer.

I also had issues with youtube flickering and making it difficult to search. I just tried restoring youtube in Titanium and then reinstalled it from Titanium, selecting "App only" instead of "App plus data" and all seems well so far
edit - uninstall then reinstall using titanium
Its not the back end its the way the YouTube app buffers. It buffered correctly in 11.1 but not in the new update. It seems like its not caching. Properly
Anyone else having this issue? All of a sudden, my phone has done this about 6 times in the past week, and twice so far today. Haven't had any other issues with my phone since launch. Been sending the error reports to HTC for whatever good that does...

Stock? Nope... haven't ever had a random reboot.
I had that problem with my launch day phone, exchanged it haven't had the problem since. Try a clean wipe to see if that fixes it.

Have you messed with the background processes in developer settings?
I had this the first couple of weeks on my launch day LTE Evo. The problem just seemed to work itself out. I didn't do anything different, but it seemed that the phone ran better after the phone settled in.
I can't explain it, but it runs like a champ now. The only annoying thing that it has now is the multitasking issue. Because of this, I believe I'm going to try CM10 since this was my daily driver on my Photon (CM9 that is, since CM10 wasn't out yet).
Have you installed any new apps lately around the time this started happening? I had this issue of random reboots back on my Photon. It ended being an app causing it. One I removed it, the random reboots stopped.

I'm stock, nova prime launcher, no new apps.

I've got random reboots with my Atrix since day 1, no matter which rom I use (stock, CM7, MIUI etc). It can be once a week to several times a day.
Any idea on how to monitor them in order to see what's wrong ? Maybe I could isolate a reason and share with devs or users...Thanks !
Did you ever think it could be hardware related?

Yes but I never dug into the random reboots in terms of logs. So I want to try to log for a week...if it doesn't work, I'll send it back to Motorola, although reading that the support may lock it forever is not a possibility I'm looking forward to...
Hello, I have a Nook Tablet 16gb running on iamafanof's CM10.1 Jellybean (4.2.1) (1/27) Build. Everything is stable and I'm really liking it. But one problem and its YouTube. At random moments, YouTube will don't play videos at all and I would have to reset my tablet to get it working again. I'm just Wondering if anyone else have this problem, or should I go to another 4.2.1 build or is there a setting I can change. I reaaly like YouTube on here and hate to see that I can't watch it.
Thanks for any Replies
I have the exact same problem. I've randomly had it on several CM10 and CM10.1 builds. On some builds it was a rare occasion, something like once in a week. But on others problem occured almost every day. I also love watching youtube using tablet and it can be very irritating - the app just randomly hangs from time to time and you're forced to reboot. Don't have a clue how to fix it.
Actually only because of this single issue I'm thinking about switching to CM7.

Right now I switched to STG7+CM10.1+cherry picks and its doing fine right now. Also STG10+CM10+cherry picks had no problems with YouTube either . Try either of these or iamafanof's CM10.1 build.
Thanks for the tip!

Ok follow up from this post I can confirm that iamafanof's CM10.1 20130206 Build has working HD and HQ Youtube. I was using STG7+CM10.1+cherry picks January Build but Only SD Youtube work.
Mine did this and I found turning the HD setting off on the player handled it. Running cwm10 jb

I also did that to until I went back to iamafanof's CM10.1 (02/02) Build. You can play HD videos from anything.
Hey Guys,
I have had my OPX for over a week now and I love the device. There are however a few issues that I am currently seeing that is making my life a little difficult.
I am experiencing random reboots of the device. It does not matter whether I am completely stock(factory default) or have setup the phone.
The issue seems to happen random. Anyone else with the same issues?
The only issues I've had with the phone so far is some stuttering when trying to watch videos on YouTube, although that may be just some problems with the app itself.
There is a new update that has solved these problems. Download and flash it

Already did. Still have the stuttering issues.
Yeah same issue here.
But after reading the release notes for the patch I can see that the random reboots seem to be caused by the unmounting of an SD, which is amazing as I don't have an SD card present
