I am not sure what happened but last night while on a call to Sprint about shoddy service in an area on my way home. I was trying to txt my other half and it kept failing. Has anyone else seen this issue?
Will
I've had multiple picture texts fail even while not on the phone. Long press the message and resend, and it goes right thru. Pretty annoying when I'm trying to brag to my Girlfriend as to why my phone is so much better than her iPhone.
Would be great if that worked for me. I'm thinking of going back to the stock msg app.

I just got my Thrive about a week ago and am noticing that sometimes text messages are 4-6 minutes late to my phone. I dont think I have a problem sending. What usually happens is I get sent a text but I do not receive it. The person that sends it to me then sends me another one asking why I havent replied. Then a few minutes later I get them both at the same time. It is very hard to keep a conversation with this issue. Can anyone help me? I am not using any of the sms replacement apps at the moment. I did but once I noticed the delay, i got rid of it to make sure it was not the app's fault and now it still happens
Contact the carrier?
The reason i dont think it's AT& T issue is that my previous phone did not have this issue and i am located is the same which is my home
When receiving a bulk sms from a friend I get replies from other people they sent the message out to. I cant find any setting that turns that off. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
It is on their end....it happens often when people receiving the original text are using an iPhone on ATT's network...

This is incredibly annoying as half of my dip**** friends have an iphone.
Yes....New Years Eve was crazy. I got a pissload of texts from numbers I have never seen before. Got really annoying.
Blame the iPhone and its messaging software.

Anyone getting this on their evo3d? I get these intermittently with people outside the sprint network but now I get them ALL the time on our family plan with my family.
That makes no sense on why texts are delayed for hours when we are in the same house or miles down the road from each other on the same sprint plan. Has this issue been identified and fixed yet?
I am rooted running Titan HD and my wife has a galaxy s2 not rooted.
Yes mine is delayed often. I have google voice and have to check the website periodically to see if I got a text that my phone hasn't yet received. Kinda annoying.

my messages are very often delayed. my friends call me and ask if i received their sms. kind of sad.
Call and ask they check your towers. I get that if I'm roaming. Also gingerbread ghostly sms is an app that pulls delayed or un received messages for you. I used it allot on my Evo, but haven't on my 3d..

I'm having the problem with my texts randomly not being sent until hours or days later. My phone shows the time I actually sent it, but google voice shows the time the recipient actually gets it. I don't know of its sprint or google voice, but it doesn't seem to happen with another phone on my plan that doesn't use google voice.

Does anyone have this problem that isn't on Sprint? Reason I ask is that I just bought this phone and I'm hoping I won't have problems. I'm in the UK by the way, on Vodafone network.
When my wife first got her 3D it wouldn't get most of text messages, just prior to that Sprint sent us an AirRave to try because we had extremely weak signal at our house, once we returned the AirRave the text messages worked ok on the 3D.
Still a no go. That ghost sms doesnt help much either

It is most definitely the Sprint network problem and Verizon's problem while roaming on their network. We may be able to roam but they definitely dont give our traffic or calls any sort of priority. If I am roaming I will not only have messages not sent or received but calls dont even go through and I will just get a notification that I have a missed call at some point.
A verizon phone on Verizon network doesnt have this problem and ATT doesnt have this problem (hasnt for years). Only Sprint and sometimes TMobile have these issues.
I have narrowed it down a bit. I send a text via the stock messenger and I go online to GV and the text I sent is not there.
If I send a text from GV or WhatsApp then everything works as it should.
There seems to be some sort of miscommunication between the stock app and pushing it to GV
I've been having this problem for about ten days, but I'm on a cdma hero with Sprint. I've had Google Voice for about 2 months, but have never used it for sending sms. I only got to this thread because I've been on google trying to figure it out...
happens to me every few weeks.
i have GV on sprint.
randomly people will tell me they suddenly got 10 or so texts and suddenly the recent chat we had the day or two before make a whole lot more sense.
and i also get the random texts that never arrive to me that i can see on google voice though
So a couple of days ago I disabled Google Voice to troubleshoot, and I haven't had a single problem with sms since... The issue (for me at least) is in Voice forwarding my texts (since it unfortunately integrates with sms as well). I do like Voice as my voicemail service, so I'm thinking I will try to re-integrate Voice with my phone to see if it functions properly. I may get around to it tomorrow, and I'll post back a few days after using it with results when I do.
Why are my text message always delayed? It can takes 30 minutes for someone to get a message from me or they just usually say "pending". I'm on CleanROM ICS. Any ideas on why this is happening? I have full 4G bars.
That's usually a network error

The txt message part is still handled on the old 1X ( cdma ) side of the network. I believe this still applies with 4G; at least at this time.
I have noticed this with being with Verizon starting about 2007. I use to be subscribed to a service that sent me txt updates every few minutes. It was easy to see the delays, and when you got literally 5-8 messages all at the same time, with all the same time stamp, but received by the network at all different times, it was very noticeable.
I complained about this and informed them that this problem never occurred until i got this new phone, so i literally went through about 5 or 6 warranty replacements even a different model without a change. Interesting enough, going back to the old phone the problem stopped.
I took the complaint to the highest level, and they literally had no explanation as to why this was happening after monitoring my traffic. They were stumped. I did some research and noticed that a new cdma chipset came out about a year earlier, and i suspect, but can't prove that is the culprit, and i would bet that that same chip-set or a variation of it is still in use today... my theory anyway.
I emailed my vzw contact, and got no response... imagine that!

I'm on the latest stock RUU and my sent messages usually take at MAX 1 minute to appear to the reciever. It might be just the ROM.

First, some back story:
On Monday, I attempted to do a profile update. The update failed, and I lost data, texts, and voice. All subsequent attempts to update my profile resulted in either a vDM Client crash or an error 1012, which means that my phone has no credentials on Sprint's network. PRL updates result in the same error.
I have gotten data back, and I can make calls and send texts, but I do not receive calls or texts; if I ever get a text, I'll get it almost literally a day later than it was sent. The only time I receive these texts, I'm roaming.
Usually the solution to this would probably be fairly simple: just use EPST to reset my data profile, or run an RUU. Well, two problems there:
1) EPST does not work. At all. Typing in ANY of the codes does absolutely nothing. I tried it stock (which I have been since I got the phone), and I then rooted and tried other .apks, and then I RUU'd and tried again. Still nothing.
2) The RUU didn't fix my issue; I still cannot complete a profile update or receive calls or texts.
I'm leaving for college in Maryland on the 16th of August, so I need to get this straightened away. I'm going to be too far away from home to have to deal with not getting calls or texts.
I purchased the phone for full, off contract price through Sprint at the beginning of June, since I didn't have an upgrade available. I do not have insurance on the device, and I didn't think to get it because I've never damaged a phone or had problems with a phone before.
At this point I'm convinced that I'll need to get a replacement. The only thing I worry about is how much they'll try to charge me for the replacement. I hope it isn't too much, because this was a fault of their network and not something that I caused. And, since I'm going to college in a month, I don't really have a lot of money to use on a cellphone.
So, to anybody who has had to exchange the phone for a replacement, what kind of fees am I looking at in order to get this fixed?
I had the same problem on my evo lte and on my s3 apparently meid on my number switched my s3 was screwed up called sprint it was on there side for the mix problem they sent me a data reset to my phone fixed the meids apparently and I got everything working back as soon as the phone rebooted give them a call and ask them to reset your phone and fix it on there side

I've already gone through a phone call, and they weren't able to figure it out. It sounds like you had the exact problem that I'm having though. Maybe another call will solve the problem.
Yeah did I got the same error code lol check if your phone number is correct first and then ask them to reset it for you I have to do some pound thing then enter a code that sprint only knew then they fixed it on there end apparently they were receiving I was connected to them but it was sending back from Sprints side

did u get that fixed bro???
Haven't called yet. I'm going to be too busy to really need a phone the next couple of days, and then I'll call after that.
I got a few text messages on time, maybe things are improving.
