[Q] An album of pics that force closes gallery!? - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

there is an album of photos in the gallery and i have no idea where it came from. it has no name, and when you try to open the settings it force closes the gallery. from the images it looks like it could be from tumblr, but having deleted the cache and data from tumblr that album is still there.
i've deleted the cache from lots of apps just in case, and nothing gets rid of it. i cant find anywhere where it could have come from.
any ideas?

wipe dalvik cache if your phone is rooted.. else i would suggest you to save all your data on the sd/internal storage and format the storage.. if it doesnt help > factory reset..

Clearing caches on the SD card

Hi,
I have rooted my phone and have moved most of the caches to the SD card. My question is: how to clear these caches on the SD card? Previously, I used to go to Settings >> Applications >> Manage Applications, and cleared the caches I wanted to. What to do now? Manual delete?
Cheers.
You should still be able to clear the caches through the Manage Applications helper. If you are using something like Move Cache for Root Users, the cache is linked to it's original on-board mount point (so it doesn't look any different to the application otherwise the application would break). So the original cache clearing methods will still work.

But whenever I try to clear the caches the "old way" via Manage apps, it appears as ZERO. It gives me the option to clear DATA, but not caches.
I used TA utility (aka Caches 2 SD) to move caches.
Any help!!!

Cache in the internal memory not fully reported by cache cleaners.

Hiya,
I just noticed today that my internal memory details display a section with 150.96MB of cache used (pls see screenshot attached of the tool 'System Tuner').
I've used different cache cleaners but they all just report ~4MB of cache, so not sure why this big mismatch in size :S
Any idea where those 150.96MB are stored, how can I see the applications that are using them and how I can manage/delete it? I can't find any other tool that reports the cache stored in the internal memory.
Cheers.
I think Titanium Backup can clear the caches for all your user and system apps

I've used some cache cleaners that didn't free up any of the MB from the internal memory. Do you know any other freeware tool with that feature that I can give a go? It still seems too much to me 150MB of cache used :S
Did you at least try Titanium Backup? The free version of it will clean the caches, just reboot after.

I checked Titanium Backup but couldn't see any standard 'clear cache' option, just the 'clean up the dalvik cache' setting.
I was now trying to understand that dalvik cache to see if I can someone reduce it (at least to see that's what's taking 150MB)
Press the menu button and then go to batch, then scroll down to find "Clear cache for all user and system apps." Things will look funny after but everything will be fine after you reboot.

Also if you have Clockwork mod recovery the option to wipe cache partition might work

Thanks for the info, I had not seen those options, I tried but the cache size reported in the internal memory stayed the same.
I investigated further and noticed that it corresponds dalkin cache memory that's created when I move an application from the mobile to the SD card, so I think it's totally required for those programmes to work and cannot be removed.
E.g.
New installed app = 11MB in mobile
Move that app to SD card and the application size gets reduced to 2MB, which is then reported as the dalkin cache value in different reports.
I'll research about how to move this dalkin cache to the SD card as well.
Thanks.

[Q] Wipe Data versus Titanium Backup

Heys guys, I'm having some FC, specially while pairing bluetooth and in gallery app.
I've already tried Wiping Cache and Dalvik, wiping gallery data and cache, wiping media storage data and cache, no luck.
My main question is... if I wipe data/factory reset and after that I restore my backups using Titanium, wouldn't "the cause" of this FC also be restored?
Yes if its an app the problem .

Try first to restore only apps without data. If it works that proves that the culprit was a configuration of one of your apps. Set each app then one by one to determine the faulty one.

[Q] Need to recover photos from SGSII in Bootloop

Hello everyone,
I have been having major issues with my phone as of late and havent had the time to address them. Until I absolutely had to today.
Recently my phone has been intermittently force closing every open app (including sys apps) until a reboot stops the process.
Today my phone rebooted into a boot-loop and I have been trying to gain access to photos on my internal memory for most of the day.
I have access to CWM and download mode.
I have tried mounting the usb in CWM to no avail. "unable to open ums lunfile" error.
I have tried reflashing the current ROM I am using (AOKP)
I have tried accessing the files and transfering them to my microSD using Aroma file manager but it can't seem to access my internal storage.
Can anyone suggest a way to access the photos on my internal storage so I can back them up to either my computer or my microSD?
After that I am fine wiping it and starting all over.
Thanks!
When you do a full wipe, basically Wipe data/Factory Reset, Wipe Cache and Wipe Dalvik cache, only the rom will be deleted. Your internal (and external) memory won't be touched, so you won't loose your photo's, music or anything like that. Just flash a new rom after the wipe.
However, if you haven't backed up anything with Titanium Backup, you will loose your apps, but I think your files are more important than apps are

Thank you for the quick advice! I ended up trusting it and wiping from recovery. Photos stayed intact and I backed them up and proceeded to wipe.

[HELP] Android Keyobard (AOSP) has stopped. And SD not reading

Hey guys,
So my Skwiftkey was acting up so I decided to clear cache in "manage apps". Instead of hitting "clear cache" I hit "clear data".
Now my keyboard doesn't show up anymore, I get that annoying message and also my phone isn't reading my SD card anymore :/
Appreciate any help
(I have CM10.1 installed)
Because SwiftKey go to settings > language & input > default
And set SwiftKey again (maybe activate, too.
For all the other prob try a reboot first.
If same problem go to recovery and wipe dalvik cache and cache one.

The problem seems to be that the phone outright doesn't read the SD card at all, doesn't even pick it up (however it can on ClockworkRecovery).
So I can't even backup my stuff to an SD card before I wipe cache or data and do another install.
Any ideas guys?

No, wiping cache and wiping dalvik cache won't delete the data or apps (only factory reset or format * would do)
So u can try this.
If u r able to access sd card in recovery and u have the zip from rom there, u can reflash Rom once (without wipe)
Just try this things and only if nothing works and no other idea comes, do a factory reset (not earlier)

Tried wiping dalvik and cache. Tried installing from sd card. Still didn't work!
And I can't wipe data because I need to backup my contacts and messages but I can't do that because my phone can't read my SD card and literally every backup app requires that I have an SD card inserted :/
Any other ideas guys? I could re do everything but I would need a backup, and without a backup I'm stuck with a useless phone
