OrBot-capable kernel? - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

I am running CM7.2.0-RC1 on a rooted and unlocked ST18a, kernel 2.6.32.9-FXP (FXP119, May 5th) and get "Warning: error starting transparent proxying!" when I try to use OrBot. Anyone finding success, or experiencing issues? Please state baseband / kernel / ROM.

[Q] WiFi unable to connect after updating to KG1

Hi Guys,
I'm new to this forum, so please don't mind my noobness
I was using VillainROM 1.4 with the XXKF3 Kernel and Baseband XXKE4, and everything was working fine.
However, after upgrading to VillainROM 2.0, Kernel and Baseband XXKG1, I am unable to browse using WiFi. The status is stuck on "Obtaining IP Address".
Is anyone else facing a similar issue?
Should I downgrade back to KF3?

[Q] CWM for 6.0.A.2.45 yet?

Can anybody direct me if there is a new kernel based on the newest released firmwares? I did got my phone rooted with Advanced Kernel Build 14 then switched back to the stock kernel. Doesn anybody have any news on the matter? As when it might come out or so?:highfive:
Advanced Stock Kernel works fine on .45.

[Q] updating I9100 kernel

OK so I have an GS2 running:
rom = 20120806 CM9
kernel version = [email protected]#1 SMP PREEMPT Sun Aug 5
Baseband = I9100XXKE7
Android = 4.0.4
Ok so I did the whole Odin thing for the first and only time around March/April updating from GB and haven't touched the kernel version of this phone again so it's quite old. I want to update to CM10 but I'm not sure if all my versions are correct and all the reading I do with kernels slightly confuses me because I'm not sure how it affects my current version as the CF-Root kernel I did ages ago isn't in my 'about phone', so I needed to ask on here because Whirlpool didn't respond.
Can I simply flash CM10 straight over the top? Or do/can I update the kernel version to do this? I would ideally love to have a kernel that optimizes battery life and gives me the ability to have the soft buttons flash for a notification.
I found these threads, are they applicable to my case?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1287726
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1311933&highlight=i9100xxke7
Or can someone point me in the right direction because I'm happy to read but I need help narrowing my search to my situation.
Cheers.
You are running CM9 and you want to flash CM10? If yes, then you don't need to flash any kernel to do that.
Just follow these steps:
1. Download latest CM10 nightly and Jellybean Gapps
2. Backup your contacts, messages, and apps
3. Boot to CWM recovery
- Backup your ROM (under Backup and restore (optional)
- wipe data / factory reset
- format /system (under mounts and storage)
- flash CM10
- flash Jellybean Gapps
- reboot phone
Done.
Thanks Jokesy. Much appreciated

Here is the CM 10 thread for nighty buildshttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1794758
I was on MIUI (ICS 4.0.4) and have jumped to Resurrection Remix 3.0.9 and now on Revolt JB 2.5 both of which are based on AOKP and CM10.
I flashed Siyah and then DreamKernel and finally landed on Dorimanx 5.85. So I think you should be okay flashing a new Kernel for your current settings. I would suggest trying out different kernels as there is no best kernel and it depends on your usage. Dormianx has a Battery and Great Battery profile which you can activate via Extweaks app or in recovery. I am not sure about the soft buttons flash though.

[Q] Someone can help me? radio issues, tried everything!

Hello folks,
This is my first post here in xda-forum.

I already read a lot of threads with this issues and tried:

- flash anothers kernel;
Just now my phone can't get connected to operator network, it show the E for edge connection, but before 2 seconds the E disappear and the connection does not occur!
Android version 4.2.2
Baseband XXLQ6
Kernel [email protected]#177
Rom Supernexus-2.0=i9100-build3
version JDQ39
Please, can anyone help me?

[Q] how/what should I upgrade from my current setup Siyah4.1/ICS4.0.3

Hi,
I have been trying to look for answers in the forum but it is too confusing...My status is like this: I got the phone and installed Siyha 4, that was many months ago, if I look in About this is what I see;
- Android version: 4.0.3
- Baseband v: I9100BGLP2
- kernel v: [email protected]))
- Build number: IML74K.BGLP8
It is working, but it's showing random hangs, GPS does not work many times...and as I see there is even official support for JB, I would like to upgrade. But, I dont know what steps and even what I should upgrade. Not sure if Siyah I can just upgrade without issues, if then I can install any rom I want of top of it...etc. I would be really gratefull if somebody could tell me:
- what I need to upgrade
- in what order
then I will investigate and manage to do it myself. For example, I am after instructions like this (making them up as an example, no idea if this is correct):
1. upgrade to SiyahKernel S2-v6.0beta5
2. restart
3. install ROM cm-10.1.3-i9100.zip
I know there is no 'best' rom, just asking for advise for any JB (or later if there is stable one) rom that works well (no random crashes frquently, GPS working, I really need that).
thanks in advance!

1-to flash stock roms(tar extension) use odin or to flash custom roms (zip extention)then you need a custom recovery (eg ClockWorkMod).
2-if GPS is really matters to you,then dont flash cm10.1 is it have a known issue (gps is not working 99% of all time)see known issues for cm10.1:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Known_Issues_page_for_i9100
if you want stock rom(eg 4.1.2) look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1544487"
if you want custom rom with working gps use(in my opinion)neatrom lite:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1569686
guide to flash with odin:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671969
always check the roms with md5sum check.
Hope it helps.
thanks!
OK, so let's say I'll go with stock rom (I'll remove most of samsung crap with RootDelete)...What about Siyah kernel I installed:
- is it replaced when installing stock rom?
- if not, can I update it to latest Siyah version? should I?

yes,because every rom has a kernel,but if you want Siyah kernel,after flashing the stock rom flash Siyah kernel again.if you want to update to stock jelly bean 4.1.2 then flash latest Siyah kernel.
