you need to upgrade to GinerBread first before flashing any cm or custom rom out there..
ODIN flash full package GB rom to get phone back to life as its missing bootloader to boot that GB rom..
multipackage roms are very rare to get this days
GO HERE where i put some link to get one and flash it properly..

Rooting...
Please use SuperOneCLick v1.6.5. It should work.

You have to flash cwm first and than flash rom. Use odin to flash new fresh gingerbread and than root you phone, install cwm and now flash rom.

I upgraded to ICS and now I want to downgrade

prior to updating I made a backup... but now when I go into recovery mode it no longer has the CWM-recovery options...
ICS doesn't suit me because it has no Hebrew.. is there anyway to return to GB?

Yes, if you had searched you would have found one of the last 20+ threads about this
1) Download old gingerbread bootloaders and a rom from this thread
2) follow instructions on flashing rom/bootloaders from that thread
3) you are back on gingerbread, congratulations.

Isn't their a cwm app in ur app drawer? This should take u to cwm. Then u can restore.

haha I bet that confused ya
I did search but couldn't find anything. Anyway I'm back to normal.. all I had to do was reflash the Siyah kernel which comes with CWM recovery tools...
anyone know if there's any type of ICS out there with Hebrew support? The stock doesn't have it.. maybe CM9?

I think cm9 does, based on what I think is Hebrew.
But I don't know if it's properly rtl or not...
just out of curious, so u were on ics, flashed ur nandroid backup and flashed siyah?
What's a nandroid?
If you use the search feature on the Xda app it doesn't return very good results for some reason,I've noticed this before. Performing the search on the website whilst on a pc would be better! Lol

i guess he firstly flashed siyah to get the CWM app. i do not know if siyah works on ICS.
he might have flashed the appropriate CF-ROOT kernel from Chainfire's thread.

If you have flashed the ICS bootloaders you need to flash the GB bootloaders back (Or it wont boot or be unstable), nandroid doesn't touch the bootloaders.

Help needed.. Am in trouble :(

my phone was sk17i with ICS and locked boot loader.. i rooted my phone and installed custom ROM given here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1991371
but after installation it is showing a menu for selecting language..but am not able to select next option because my touch screen is not working.. i tried flashing with sk17i firm ware but showing same screen.. and i tried many times to enter into the cwm recovery mode .. but phone is getting started as usual without entering into recovery mode. I first entered into recovery mode with an option "automatically reboot and recovery" option in as software called x-part.. what should i do now.. please help me.. am in trouble..
Install cwm using this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1346190, then wipe everything (especially mounts/storage /system partition) and re-install. are you sure you made the correct choices in aroma installer? if touch is not working you probably installed the version for some other model or made wrong choice where it asks if bootloader is locked or unlocked.

In aroma installer there is a device selection as
Lww
Mini pro
Mini
Active.
U should choose ur respective device there..
According to ur statement I think u selected live with walkman in aroma...
Where the Rom got replaced with live with walkman touch drivers.
Thats y ur touch is not working

Reflash stock ftf firmware using flashtools, you will probably loose root after that and will have to repeat the rooting procedure. Then you can re-install the rom making the correct choices

Nah, unlocking bootloader is needless. Just use Sony Update Service / Flashtool to reflash the firmware. Then root and reinstall the ROM again.
i again installed GB Rom and rooted again and then again installed the HD custom ROM(the one i mentioned in above link) and selected se mini pro in aroma installer and even after installation SE logo is showing and then screen is black.. why it is like that???

Exact same issue on ST15 when installing this same ROM.

Installing .62, then Hybrom10, then again .62 DID fix my screen, although I don't get the logic:

[Q] CWM Recovery reverts to Stock Recovery after rebooting.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i. I had no problem with rooting it, and am able to use Superuser and other root apps perfectly, but when i try to flash CWM on it, either from the ROMManager app, or from a zip file, it only displays CWM immediately after i flash it, but then the moment i press Reboot Now,and go back to the Recovery, i notice that it has reverted to the stock recovery. I have tried many different CWM recovery files, but it always works only for that one time, and then reverts to stock after reboot. I am using a stock ROM since i cannot flash Cyanogenmod until i get CWM to 'stick'. What do i do?

Thunder kernel will not work with these ROM most of thr users tried but faced same problem's so its good if you change your kernel.
Thunderkernel works with CM7 RC4. The big advantage is that it has builtin iptables. with the biel kernel afwall+ does not work. With thunderkernel it does work and so you can have a good application firewall.
why don't you try touchwiz v9 instead of v8 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2358404
and make sure to use thunderkernel stock and not cm7 or cmx ( currently thunderkernel_2.1_stock.zip , you can find it here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2335947) :
after reverting to stock rom
Go to CWM Recovery(apply update from zip : choose cwm [fox example : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2649491 ] )
Clear/Wipe Data
Clear/Wipe Cache
Advanced > Clear/Wipe Dalvik cache
Install zip from sd card > Choose touchwiz v9
Reboot recovery or directly install zip from sd card > Choose thunderkernel_2.1_stock.zip
