i am running miui 5.4. Everything is working as should, with the exception of MMS. After days of research and forum crawling like a crackhead, i have concluded that the apn settings is the problem, if i create a new apn and input the settings for us cellular (my carrier) then i am able to send and recieve MMS. It is only when i reboot my phone that it breaks again, and i am forced to re-enter the settings to send MMS. I am just curious if anyone has had a similar problem, and if there is a way to fix it so i dont have to enter these settings with every reboot
thanks in advance
try to flash nv white rabbit, all settings needed for qpst.
you can also change other settings under ##data#, ##DEBUG#.
mms spc was 500667 on my device. not the standard 000000

Hi everyone,
I have had this problem a few times when I flash a new ROM I can't send text or get data. I fixed it before but I can't get it to work anymore and I'm not sure exactly why, except that it is related to some sort of problem with the APN and SMSC (I think). I am with Cincinnati Bell wireless (CBW) and I'm running CM7
I set the APN data similar to what they have on their website:
http://cbwportal.wdsglobal.com/wap?...&manufacturerId=35&phoneId=3531&mobileNumber=
But when I dail *#*#4636#*#* to get to the phone info and enter the Hex value for the CBW SMSC # (+15132400140) 07915131420041F0 and change the network type to GSM/CDMA auto (PRL) neither will stay. The SMSC won't update and the network type just keeps reverting to WCDMA.
Anybody know how I can get this to work??? Many thanks
I know there is a lot of questions surrounding APN settings and I have done a lot of research and can't seem to find a solution to my problem. Background I am running a XT908 which appears to be a very close cousin or brother or sister (choose your family member) to the XT912. It is a CDMA phone from a small local carrier. Anyway I have CM 10.1 on it, working great frankly I love it, however like many small carriers getting the APN settings restored is a real pain.
So the real issue is when I goto Settings -> More -> Mobile Networks, there is no option for Access Point Names. This is true both on CM 10.1, AND the stock ROM which was ICS 4.0.4. So the data on my phone is working, however I can't send MMS messages (it just sits at sending). I presume the problem is the APN, I'm not sure if it is simply using Verizon's and it is working because Verizon runs off the local carriers towers or what.
Anyway, is there a way to modify the active APN setting(s) via the ADB shell. I've been doing a lot of playing around with the apns-conf.xml, and the telephony.db database located in /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/telephony.db. I attempted to restore my APN config by installing APN Backup & Restore, making it a System App, dumping the APNs on the stock ROM, and then restoring them on CM10. This did import some of the settings (although the database fields don't match up exactly), however I still have the MMS problem.
So I guess I just wrote a long winded explanation to ask, is there a file or database I can modify with my local carriers settings and make it the active APN? Or is my APN not even the issue since data is working fine, it is MMS only? Thanks much.
Going to try and bump one time.
I tried with the default T-mobile AP, which is the old one, and I tried the new one. When neither of those worked, I called T-MO and got their help. They created a new AP using the new settings (fast.t-mobile.com). It also didn't work. Anyone get MMS to work on T-MO?
adding mms to APN type worked for me.
APN Type:
default, supl, mms
Thanks for helping. Didn't work but I appreciate trying.
Here's what I had to do to get it working:
First, reset the APN settings to default.
Then, add mms to APN type.
Next, clear the setting for server.
Then add the mmsc.
Then it worked.

Weird that you had to do anything at all. I got the phone, inserted my SIM, rebooted, went through the setup wizard and was good to go.
Finally!

Worked for me. You rock!
This happened to me when I first used the phone with AT&T as my carrier. AT&T couldn't determine the issue and are still investigating it. I ended up doing a factory reset and it fixed it.
Im having some issues on the subject, that i cannot really figure out..
I have a Asus Padfone X Mini (T00S) and i cannot send MMS texts on the epc.tmobile.com APN,
i have tried messing around adding this and that, but all my attempts to send a MMS have failed
supl, mmsc and everything i have tried failed.
I would appreciate it if you would please send me a screen shot from you apn settings and also explain what is happening
Im fairly new to the APN system
So, when I first put my SIM in, my phone restarted and I got some texts informing me of settings in a configuration menu to install, and when I did almost everything worked perfectly fine. Upon one of the things acting strange, i reset my networking settings and input the specified APN settings for my carrier (Ting), but then MMS wont work and when I get calls it goes straight to voicemail. By default under "Access Points", it has a "Ting Data" option which can't be changed, but has incorrect APN settings according to the ting website, so I make a second one and select it instead.
Anyhow, I want the original configuration install options to reappear like when I first installed my sim but I cannot find anything about them or find any configuration menu. They did add new APN settings in there when I did it and MMS did work at the time and I did get calls. I've already removed my sim, and placed it back in with no luck, restarted phone, soft reset phone, reset Access Points to default, and reset network settings via the Reset menu, and no luck.
Is there a dial code I can enter to find this APN install menu? or get it to do a full network reset as if I put my SIM in for the first time WITHOUT a full factory reset.
Edit: Got it working somewhat. It says I have LTE connection, but only wants to work on and off. Any ideas of how to fix this?
