I just bought a second hand galaxy S2, want to use Cynogenmod ICS on it but the link is dead.
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=stable&device=galaxys2
does anyone know where can I get it or are there any reseasonable alternative?
just click 'all' in that page and youll see all the ics roms. CM9 is ics.
Your link works fine, there's just no "stable" ICS release to display.
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=galaxys2&type=nightly
perhaps this is what you are after
are the CM9 nightly build safe? I an absolute noob...

better off reading the thread for it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1419102
and i stress read the thread rather than just go in and ask.
ok... I just want a staple version of ICS, I don't care if it's Samsung's, Cynenmod, MIUI or others. I just want ICS and get rid of Vodafone rom.
Can someone please give a download link? I prefer using Odin as I have experience with them before.
Thanks.

Hi I saw some pictures today and I saw that 2.3.5 was flashed on a Galaxy S2,
so is 2.3.5 available for galaxy s2 ? or am I dreaming !
Greetz
Pics? link? would be first I have heard of this.......but who knows
Next Cyanogenmod nightly (will probably be released today or tomorrow) is already 2.3.5. There is also the Vanilla AOSP which you can find in the development section that it already 2.3.5. Don't expect any changes though. The changes to 2.3.4 concern only Nexus One.

It here galaxyfirmware.com/forum/install-android-235-gingerbread-xxki3-update-samsung-galaxy-s2-gt-i9100.html
It is already available but keep in mind that it is a leaked version for testing and not an official Kies release.
CM7 is 2.3.5 and is out for a long time now.

Nobody can. Its official policy to not share links to original firmwares, since it will put the devs out of work.
For that reason all topics about original firmwares are hidden and cannot be found using the search function.

I've been searching around and it seems theres 1000 different methods to root SGSII but unsafe..and also I got confused between GB versions and ICS ones...
I've come frmo a SGAce which was as simple as with recovery flash the upd.zip and the phone was rooted, then install CWM and done, with 100% sucess rate.
I want to know if there's such a way for SGSII ?
Also if you can, does that leaked version of JB is working 100% bugless on SGSII? If so can you provide me the correct guide to apply it on SGSII? Since i find alot, but all are fakes/erros ones..
Thanks for your comprehension and time!

If you're on ICS, use this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35771824
If you're not on ICS, update to ICS by kies, then use the above linked thread to help you root it.

the I717 is obviously the phone, but your UCLF5 or UCLA1 is your baseband or modem. many different modems will work with many different ROM's. some will work better than others. but you may want to use a modem that goes with your carrier.
the modems can flash just like you ROM.
whatever carrier you use, you didn't say, you can find all info in the "Super Everything Thread" for any questions. there is a link to everything there, even the color of shorts your wearing.
^^^Those are stock firmwares... modems and firmware match before anything's been done to the device.
Op:
The phone is an I717 it will run any firmware for...... the I717.

does that mean I was wrong in my post???
always learning and don't want to give bad advice
Not wrong...it just didn't answer the question.
I figure if I cant fully answer question, maybe I can steer them in right direction. if I cant do that, than maybe I can ask question which others such as yourself would chime in with a much more educated and solid solution.
I have followed your wisdom since the Infuse and glad to see you around here too.
The real question should have been why would you want to install an outdated ics leak when JellyBean is available and if you had to install ICS, there is I717UCLF6. But to fully answer the OP, YES.
To answer all of you guys' questions:
This phone is an AT&T phone that will be used abroad and not in the U.S. The reason I want to downgrade is because I'm looking for a Traditional Chinese ROM, and the custom ROM i found is the UCLF5.
I have one more question:
Do I have to get my current baseband to UCLF5 before I can flash that custom ROM? Or can I just flash it without changing my baseband?
Thanks
Rom only should do it

Dear friends
I need help here,, I need 4 parts official Android ICS 4.1.2 to install it because i have a WiFi problem that requires this type of installation according to some articles
Can you please guide me where i can download it??
Thanks
What guide exactly were you following? Whatever it is, I'd love to see the guide that says 4.1.2 is ICS. Its not, it's JB. So do you want 4.1.2 or 4.0.3? No matter, download if from Samfirmware.

No harshness intended at all mate. If I was being harsh, I wouldn't have told you where to download the firmware from, I answered your question.
A little pointer such as I posted will not hurt at all. Please double check what you post before posting. I for one am put off helping someone if the basic info is incorrect. Hence, no harshness intended, just a little pointer to get your facts straight.

Some firmwares like this have torrent links. Check the build number as per your requirement and flash.
