Hy,
I have galaxy s2 and wont to buy a s3 but the most bed think on s2 is mic recordin in video when is loud sound.
Can somebody record a video with s3 with varry loud music.
I'll be at a concert in August (should have my phone by then) I am hoping it'll be better than the static I recorded using my Thrill 4G last year.
I have just been to a solo gig and recorded some songs and yes there is a good difference between the 2 phones . .I hated the S2 recording lovely 1080p but sound was horrible! I recorded tonight just by the speakers and the horrible grainy sound has gone Will need a better test at a louder gig to fully say its improved. .
But sounds good so far

This is great news. Can you please play radio or some music louder and then test it. If s3 record it at normal and this would be great.
Ok so I remember doing this with my S II right above my laptop speaker. I rooted and put the camera hack mod on that was supposed to help video audio but actually did nothing
I put my S II right over the laptop speaker and played a song full blast . Results were shocking! Very grainy and unstable sound.
I can report now I've just tried it with my SIII and audio is amazing! No grainy or unstable sound . Very pleased as I do go to alot of rock gigs
Here's my little test which didn't end as well as I had wished for.

I'm not sure if it gives a clear picture of the quality, but that's how it recorded during this test. Volume was set to well above the normal listening level but not too loud either not to disturb the neighbours. Sgs3 was missing all the lower sounds and there is a clear bug in the recording; channels are mixed. Somehow there was a lot of noise too.
Hoping for the fast fixes!
The S3 sound is horrible

Nope the Galaxy S3 audio is terrible! There needs to be a fix right away! It is due to ICS I believe. They did something to the microphone equalizer settings. It is as if there is no lower frequencies being recorded. So it sounds like voices have been put through a high pass filter...WTF???
My audio during video was perfect on my Galaxy Note. It had Gingerbread. I updated to official ICS and the audio started doing the exact same thing that my S3 is doing!!!
Finaly ther is a fix for audio sound in video recording.
I update with official 4.1 test room and record a video. You will heare the difrence

Maybe you should remove that space between "you" and "tube"

Has anyone experienced very low volumes when recording video? I know the thunderbolt has noise cancellation but not sure if it impacts audio recording while shooting video. Any ideas would be great. Oh, I made sure my hands were not covering the microphones.

I just noticed this today as well. IT seems to only happen when recording video on my phone. voice recordings and such are fine.
Im taking mine back to Verizon tomorrow to see if another unit has the same problem. If it does I will be really disappointed as I take a lot of videos.
This is normal, I believe. I've seen lots of people mentioning this online. The playback on the phone is extremely quiet, but the actual video's volume when exported to your computer isn't bad.
The only thing that bugs me is the popping sound that happens at the start of every video I take. I've noticed this in videos online as well as my girlfriend's Thunderbolt.
That bits on the phone. I noticed that same thing but just thought I had put my hand over the mic. I guess as long as the PC sound is ok it should be livable.
I don't understand how this would be normal. I haven't had this issue with any other android phone, or HTC phone. It doesn't show well when you record a video on the TB and show it right at the moment. I had two friends this afternoon that wanted This phone until I showed them this.

Ok, so my phone is a Samsung Vibrant, my firmware is stock 2.2, and my kernel is Bullet 1.420GHz. Since this kernel has Voodoo Sound v9 implemented in it I installed the Voodoo control app (free version) to see what I could do to my music quality. However, I notice no difference when ticking or un-ticking most sound options (except “mono downmix” and under “Bass Boost” sliding the “Gain” bar). I’m not sure if it’s just my ears that aren’t noticing it or what, but if someone could tell me of a way to accurately test if voodoo sound is making a difference to my music it would be greatly appreciated.
I hope someone replies because I'm wondering the same thing.

first, you have to have decent quality sound files to notice a difference (128kbps is crap for anything higher quality audio, and you will get no difference).
Secondly, not everyone's ears CAN notice the difference.
thirdly, headphone quality can mask a lot of stuff as well.
Voodoo sound is really only if you have high bitrate audio (not upconverted from lower bitrate, and low bitrate can be considered to start from 256kbps), high quality headphones, and ears that know what to "look" for.
Thanks for responding. Would you happen to have a high bitrate audio file I could download and test with?

Search for a flac version of a song or something and then compress it to 128 kbps and see the difference.

I kinda thought you were joking there for a minute. You don't own any music higher than 128s? If you own any music CDs, burn them to your hard drive at 320 and put them on your phone. If you still can't tell, then you'll probably need to upgrade your headphones. If you're using sub-$10 IEMs or headphones, the poor build quality will mask any benefits Voodoo has on your sound quality. Do some Googling and find a nice budget pair (MEElectronics has an excellent reputation when it comes to bang for the buck in the sub-$100 range). If that doesn't work, you may just not have sensitive enough ears to tell the difference.
Alright I've seen countless threads here about how 'crap' the music quality is. I beg to differ. Go into the music settings, and put your equalizer to 'Rock'. Now if that doesn't make your music sound bloody brilliant then you need to get your ears checked - or maybe it's just me.

On the contrary, if you think the sound level on the SGS2 is "bloody brilliant", you're probably coming off a very low base (iPod w/stock earbuds anyone ?).
Without using Louder or the app YahYoh posted on here a couple of weeks ago, the sound on the SGS2 lacks "oomph" for want of a better word. Using either of these apps improves this situation somewhat, but it's still nowhere near as good as pretty much every mp3 player on the market (even the cheap ones).
The actual quality of the sound is pretty reasonable, but many people will tell you the sound on the SGS was much better due to the Wolfson sound chip.
I disagree if my SGS2 is used with a sound level of 50% its fine 60% is far to loud .
I actually took the trouble to compare my SGS one with SGS two with exact same file and earphones . No real difference when tested on a high quality audio sample .Also tested against standard MP3 players . Tested all the varying hacks posted no difference .
There are a number of reasons as to why poor sound for some .
One some production runs look to have lower sound output .
Two possible;e likewise for stock headphones .
Three a lot of users are probably using poorly coded music
Four distorted bass seems to be a requirement of some users
Five obviously different users have different hearing
Six the biggest reason of all you are listing to crap music .

Quick question for anyone who may be able to answer this.
Has anyone noticed a low volume when the speaker phone is ON while making a call?
The phone speakers are awesome when you play music. Also normal call volume is very good. However, when I turn the speaker phone ON during a call, the sound from the speakers doesnt seem to be that great. Infact it is quite faint.
Any one else has the problem?? Also does anyone know any solutions??
Used the speaker phone yesterday for the first time and must admit even set to the highest it was piss poor low, very disappointed as like you said the speaker when playing music or video is fantastic.

this is my problem too, even my X10 mini beats the XPS! I need a louder speaker phone...
I also have this problem with a very very low sound when speakerphone is ON during the phone conversation. I have the latest software 2.3.7.I have had 4 Android phones before Xperia S and did not had such a basic problem. After all the quality conversation is mobiles priority number one before all the media, design, display and etc in my opinion. It is so low that I don't hear 50% of the conversation on a speakerphone when am I alone in a room. Please don't give any solutions like turn up the volume during conversation and all other settings since I have done it already. This is simple a manufacturers software mistake. Sony please take this seriously and don't embarrass on such a basic thing in phone like speakerphone volume. Everything else on this phone is great, only problem is a loose cover for the micro usb that you use everyday to charge the phone.
Strangely, when I switched to speaker mid call yesterday the other person commented that I got A LOT clearer for them Didnt sound quiet for me either, though I was in a quiet environment so it wasnt competing with anything.

Hello everyone!
The issue I'm dealing with has to do with my Redmi Note 4's sound. The only way I can hear a video or song is putting on headphones. The sound is fine then. Without the headphones, a very low static-like noise comes out of the phone while the video plays. When someone calls me, the phone behaves like it's on mute. But when I pick up, I can hear the other person at the end of the line clearly.
I hope I explained this clearly enough. Thank you in advance!
