Background: I just got a brand new rezound to replace a lost one. This was a full retail box, not a CLN. I S-offed with the last rezound with no other issues but the timing for the wire
Setup: Totally stock with the exception of unlocked, rooted, newest amon RA installed for recovery. Also SU and Busy box installed.
What I have done so far: several factory resets and several formats of a already formatted card.

Solution? My next move is to downgrage to 3.14 on AR. I am pretty sure that is where I was on the last one, but your suggestions in the eantime would be helpful
try finding an older version of control bear.
Sounds like you didnt run it as admin also

I went all the way back to .1 with no luck. Also I am running as administrator on a win7 64 machine
Thought of the downgrade for the Controlbear.
I did downgrade the AR to 3.14 with no luck
EDIT: i also set SU to just allow permissions without a prompt

I need a Windows solution.

Try to delete that data/local/juopunutbear folder. Might still have data from your last phone and some ids might not match

That was a good thought...a really good one.
The solution I came up with was to upgrade to the newest ICS leak (and all the pain that took to get there) then it went right to where it should have.
Thanks for the replies!
Try the wubi. It's seriously like installing a program. It doesn't go ontop of anything and can just be uninstalled whenever.

All was going well until Norton decided revolutionary was a virus and removed it while it was running! Retrying revolutionary I kept getting error messages saying device was not supported. I then reset the phone to the original sprint stock image. Now I'm able to run revolutionary but I keep getting an error that reads "Communications with phone unexpectedly interrupted" I tried reinstalling the drivers and I made sure nothing was on auto sync and even tried different usb ports and cables. I still am getting that error. Please help!
did you download revolutionary again?

Disable your AV completely while you do this process, or just uninstall Norton. Then redownload Revolutionary and put it on a new folder on your desktop. Should be good after that.

Any ideas why it is unable to find the device? BTW, this is on linux, and I am running as root.
Same exact thing it does to me on windows. Once mine gets to the screen with the arrow it can't find my phone anymore. Odd since cleanflash has no trouble. I tried reinstalling adb and HTC drivers to no avail. I finally just gave up for the moment.

I am unlocked, CWM recovery, usb debugging on (at least it is when control bear starts). adb just seems to be unable to connect to the device after the first reboot.
Unlocked aman-ra 3.15. Its odd that it finds the phone just fine to backup and reboot. Also reboots from fastboot no problem. Its once it gets to the green arrow and tries to find my phone it fails.

I also had a very similar issue the day it launched. I can't remember what was keeping the program from running like it should, I believe that when I uninstalled or killed HTC syn running, and went to the task manager and killed ADB.exe in windows I realized that there was a droid explorer service running that kept instantly restarting ADB. Once I finally killed the service then restarted the program it worked.
Have you tried using a second windows computer just for kicks? If it's convenient I would try that and then just run a linux live cd if windows is still having driver issues.
I'm stuck with only my laptop for the moment. Its odd, I've killed HTC sync and everything else I can think of including antivirus
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using XDA
I had the same problems yesterday, there was some htcsyncupdate process running that kept on interfering with the process.
In task manager make sure to show processes of all users. Also be sure in msconfig.exe you have selective startup selected so that it's not just restarting what you kill when you reboot.
I can't think of much else off the top of my head, I'm willing to remote in and take a look on team viewer just to offer a second set of eyes if you would like. Someone else may post and tell you exactly where the issue lies.
Hmm
Query if enough permissions, drivers, and other services are running in safe mode to still allow for Controlbear to run without any HTC software interference.
I think I am going to give it a shot in safe mode here on the next try. Or at minimum make a custom boot state to kill everything but needed windows services. Unfortunately not near my pc for a while yet. Thanks for the suggestions guys can't hurt to try.

I'm rooted and I have been able to get most of my games to run with some edits to build.prop and restoring data from titanium backup, but still haven't figured out chainfire3d. If you install the driver with or without the EGL driver the phone will freeze upon boot every time. Haven't figured out a fix yet.
HTC Unlock = S-OFF
All it needs is the system partition to not be locked, HTC unlock does this. Before we had HTC Unlock, S-OFF was the only way to get this.
HTC unlock is not S-OFF, but you should be alright without it. It just needs to be able to write to the system partition.
Don't try it. It sent my EVO into a bootloop and I had to Re-Flash

A search will give you a ton of results, but S stands for Security and that does a good job of describing it. You turn the security off, so you can do whatever to different partitions.

Is there any word on this? has anyone tried Chainfire3D with a different rom?
On stock, I installed CF3D, and then as allaidback said, the phone will not boot. However, doing a factory reset will make it boot up once, and CF3D appears to work (ran Fruit Ninja THD as a test after installing plugins), but if the phone ever reboots, back to the same thing. Uninstalling the driver after another Factory Reset is the only way to get the phone to keep working.
I'm curious if anyone has made any progress with this, as I have a sizable collection of THD games, thanks to having just upgraded from the MoPho.
nothin' yet man. Still looking for a fix...found Siegecraft THD to work though.
Well we have a way to achieve true s-off now in the dev section. Maybe that would solve the issue for you guys?
yeah, I was going to try that once I can do it from windows base. Thanks!

Also wondering about this.
Is this still a no-go ?
Im currently on Nils Business Sense and I want to try Neo's new JB AOSP or AOKP. is it as simple as flashing from recovery or are there extra steps?
Rezound. S-on.
Flash from recovery. Since you're s-on, you'll have to extract the boot.img from the zip file and flash it from fastboot as well.
Just to add, do a back up of your existing rom, wipe the system/data/cache partitions then flash the new one.
The back up comes in handy in case you want to revert back without needing to set up everything again.
Do I need to rename it or anything? for some reason I cant get this to work properly...
I wiped data, cache and dalvik.
I installed the ROM twice.
Then reboot hangs at the HTC white screen.
I pulled the battery and reboot to bootloader. Hangs at HTC Screen again...

I used this originall but if you aren't interested in the kit go to sdk/extras/google/usbdrivers
Then go to the control panel device manager. Find Android Phone ( this is what mine says it may be something totally different but it will identify your phone) click it and update usb drivers update them manually. direct it to the google usb drivers you found previously in the sdk and update it. If this doesn't work there isn't much I can give except for support of using the toolkit.
OK so I never got ANY solution to work on my new Windows 8 laptop. I switched to my daughter's Asus Aspire netbook and installed flawlessly in no time at all. I'm sure the Windows 8 issue is/was driver related but I just couldn't get all the pieces to come together. I really haven't had a good experience with Windows 8 so far.
I like Mean Horsey Face so far, any other good JB ROMs I should try?
(And by JB I mean Justin Bieber themed ROMs...j/k)
Anyway, thanks to ALL who tossed in their $.02! I really appreciate it!

You need to make sure you are on the correct radio version before you run the Ruu. If you aren't then it will not work. Also make sure that there are no files on the root of your sd card named PG05IMG.

I have the 2.11.605.19 radios and there is no PG05IMG on the root of the sd card. The only ones I saw on the root like that are ota block and su. Does it matter what ROM i'm on? I'm on ICS v1.5 MR3- android 4.0.4 and superSU binary v0.99.
That shouldn't matter. Since Ruu files are flashed in fast boot the rom you are running won't matter. You should post your question in his thread in the development forum and maybe even skim through it because I remember there were others having the same issue and there is a definite fix for it.

ok im downloading the ruu off the all in one thread. I just put it on the root of sd card and then fastboot flash? Can you describe the process of the fastboot flash so i don't mess it up?
First check the MD5 and make sure it matches. Put the Ruu on the root of your sd card. Rename it to PG05IMG. Reboot into the bootloader. Press the volume rocker so it will scan your SD card. Select the fastboot option using the power button. Then select yes when it asks if you want to update.

You need to install adb. I don't think that tool is going to work without it. Just Google how to install adb. There are plenty of guides and it is easy to do. Whatever bat file you click normally to run the tool needs to be right clicked. At the bottom there should be an option to open as administrator or run as administrator.
