Any got file sharing to work from windows 7 to the archos? I ask because everytime I try this there is no UPnP server found and I can't seem to get the password to work in the SMB server. Any help is gratefully welcomed.
I'm afraid I can't help so much.
I had a problem with smb where password and username were definitely right but would not allow it.
After a while it did work though, so keep trying!
Maybe change the password to something short.
I had the same issue. Password was correct but no connection after a few tries it worked. Keep trying. Make sure your files are shared on your computer.

On windows 7 you need too go to network sharing-home network and set a password there. Set all your sharing options there and check the encription from 128 to the one below I think 40 something. Right click on the files you want to share and share to all.
Trust me I could not get to work for a long time until I changed the encryption from 128

I have 128 bit encryption on on windows 7 and can see my smb shares.
However smb and windows 7 is a bit tricky.
I had/have the following problems:
1) On the archos it asked me for username and password which I filled in correctly, but it didn't work. It started working after I rebooted my windows 7. Never had this problem since.
2) Once in a while I get no content in my shares, I have then to close the filemanager and restart it again, or reboot the archos.
One suggestion always work with usernames and passwords it saves you alot of trouble.

I found the problem for this issue. If you change the ip adres of your windows computer you will have todo a reboot to get smb working again. I still have to look if there is a problem when using DHCP. I have normally a fixed IP adres on my server.

Can someone tell me where the Mac address is stored in SGS2.
I have found /etc/wifi/nvram_net.txt but in that file it is a different mac address then the one i see in wifi advanced settings.

Menu > settings > About phone > Status > wifi mac address
(if that is what I understand from question)

I actually thought it was chipware (pic) stored on the actual wifi hardware. I know you should be able to override.
How do I override it?

Not the best of ideas, and may not even work, why not sign in on your phone?
And for your "How do i do in linux?" question, you use goolge to search for a query that millions will have had for the widest used classification of operating system in the world

I am in a hotel and with a pc connect to the hotspot and get a wifi connection:
Then when i start to surf i get redirected to http://hyd.guestnet.int/login/
Where i fill in username and password in a form and i send the information to http://1.1.1.1/logon.cgi.
On my phone i get a wifi connection but is not redirected and i can not surf to http://hyd.guestnet.int/login/
I have tried all ways that is described but none is successful.
That is the reason I wonder if someone knows how i can change the mac in os on a SGS2.

you tried downloading opera or firefox for your mobile? Either or may make it so you can login on that form?

Have tried Opera mobile, firefox and dolphin, none is working.

Don't forget to set the User Agent of Opera/Firefox/Dolphin to Desktop. Does the hotel ask for a login in the form of a website, or is it a dialogue box? Because websites can easily load on your phone.

I have a stock ROM rooted Photon.
I used AndroidVNC server, granted it superuser permissions, and started server.
Problem is,
When I attempt to connect through PC server stops!
I tried several VNC viewers, same result.
I know it's my Photon because my friend has a rooted SG2 and it works perfectly.
I also have the latest binary updated.
Please help if you know a solution.
Hmm, doesn your friends work while connecting to your pc? If not, it could be as a result of closed ports on your software firewall and/or hardware firewall. Not sure what ports the viewers youre using uses, but try to find out and ensure that those ports are either already open or set to be forwarded in your firewalls. Easy way to fivure out if this is the issue is to disable all of your pc's security momentarily and try to connect. If it does, you know your problem is on the pc side and not your phone or the app. Good luck.
Does the vnc-server allow you to use a mouse and keyboard from the computer on the phone? or access the webtop/ubuntop?
I think this must be a bug from the vnc server, it most likely crashed during the connection.
Try our vmlite vnc server, it will surely work on your device, as we do have other users using the same device.

I can't seem to upload anything over wifi from my Galaxy S3 when I am at home. It works at work and when I am round other peoples but can't seem to get it to work here.
I guess it is a problem with my router, but I wouldn't know what settings to adjust and such.

Sorry to bump this, but have been rattling my brain for hours! Any suggestions?
If you have firewall program running on your PC such as Window Firewall, or Norton Security, or McAfee then you need to set some rules for the upload to work. Try to find out which port the upload is using, then open the port from your Firewall program.
Some routers allow you direct connect to the server and bypassing all rules to play games or for remote access, you may try to use one of these ports too.
Sorry to sound stupid, but how do I find out the port that the phone is trying to upload through?
I am using flow and connecting it with my HP envy laptop. It connects alright and can share text messages only but is not willing to share any type of files either from phone to pc or from pc to phone. I have tried to unpair and re pair them, i have changed the destination folder, i have checked the boxes to allow transfer of files across firewall but still no good. Its not even showing the smart view mirroring on my pc. Can anyone help me with this, would really appreciate it. Thanks.
