As of now, nothing for my Xperia S DE version.
I've just updated mine to .75. Don't know the difference yet. Anyone know what does this update do?

It's a placebo released to calm down people eager waiting for ICS, e.g., riot prevention measure.
What about touch buttons sensitivity in .75 cause in .76 it's better than .73

Well, it just tells me that ICS won't come that "soon"
that's becouse they promised an update for XP-S by end of May.
<IRONIC MODE>
Old Version (.73)
Code:
for (int i=1; i<cycle; i++)
New Version (.75)
Code:
for (int i=1; i<cycle; i+=1)
Exotic Version (.76)
Code:
TouchButtons.Sensitivity += 10;
for (int i=1; i<cycle; i+=1)
</IRONIC MODE>
^^^ what does it mean??

the only way is to flash .76 ftf with flashtool...
you can find it in development section.
Only difference I've noticed is a strange new popup for missed calls!
I tried to grab a screen shot but it disappeared too quickly..
No change in button sensitivity for me on .75
Edit:
Managed to grab a shot:
New pop-up for missed calls?? Mm interesting!
Could anybody confirm that?

Sorry, that's to do with me installing Any.DO just after the update.. My bad..
SEUS (or should I say SUS now?) is installing something on my phone right now. Don't know if the program was confused, but it's installing something. Was at .73 fw, French (I assume, based on the pre installed apps on it). Will edit as soon as the phone reboots.
EDIT: .75 fw installed. French FW. Up and running.

do you suggest upgrading to .76?
does it have enough benefits that makes it worth?(especially touch buttons)

It could maybe improve battery life, maybe they fixed some things regarding to wifi, because wifi was draining the battery extremely..
But probably the update has some minor fixes or changes

I posted on the sony forum lets see what sort of reply do we get about the details
http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/38902?tstart=0
How come some people get .75 and others get .76?
Is this only different for other regions or will there be both CE1 .75 and .76 for example?
PCC just showed that I can update to .75, I'm running CE1, previously Austria A1.
Anyone can check what happens with this new release if you have the phone connected to the PC and then shutdown/hibernate the PC and the USB Port still provide power in that state?
Mine stops charging but remains with the power led on like it was charging.
Then it prevents the phone from enter in a sleep mode. So discharging must faster.
I need to disconnect the USB cable and connect it back for it to return to a normal state.
I saw someone stating that the Japanese version had a fix with the led being on while the phone was not charged.
So maybe these .75 / .76 versions include the fix for this problem?

Hey everyone,
After flashing via flashtool the global 2.3.4 i noticed that the battery was draining way faster than normal. I should mention that i didn't wipe user data before the flash.
From what it seemed, "Android System" took up around 65% of the battery overnight without letting the phone go to sleep mode, losing 90% percent of battery in 8 hours.
My original setup was the stock rom and the doomlord v9. kernel. While trying to fix the issue n make the phone be able to go back to sleep i wiped user data n flashed the stock rom n kernel again with/without root, the SE tweaked v.5 rom, etc n the issue didn't seem to get fixed.
If anyone has any ideas on fixing that, or if it's safe to downgrade to 2.3.3 please share.
~The only thing running was a messenger app which usually uses 2-4% n my battery drain was around 3-5% overall with no use on 2.3.3 with the same setup.
(I'd post screenshots but the forum isn't letting me post outside links yet)

yeah, i noticed the same thing last night too. wifi causes a wakelock for some reason which didn't ever happen on 2.3.3.
I even relocked the bootloader n upgraded to 2.3.4 via PCCompanion just to be sure i'm not doing anything wrong with the flashing and roms but doesn't seem to be fixed in any way..
Thanks for the info!

I just checked on pc companion and it's not available for me yet in the UK with 2.3.4 global.
It's not available for me here in Greece either.
I've done some reading around at forums n see what other people have been experiencing, n i somewhere read that in one case the issue was the SD Card (which is weird) and in another it was the automatic time setting via internet. I'm doing some tests right now trying different combinations, but from what i see the phone did go to sleep with Wifi on after i turned off the auto time setting.. Nothing's for sure yet though.
Interesting. I've make ftf file with LT15 loader and uploading now.
Tonight I'll try and share it.
Well, i'm confused. My phone seems to be back to normal for now. I put the SD back and enabled internet time, restored most of my apps to see if the wakelock would happen again but it's still working properly. Which means i don't have a conclusion of some sort.
~Update: Sim Card doesn't seem to be recognized now for some weird reason..
~Update 2: Backup & Restore was the issue here, after i deleted it n rebooted the phone SIM is working fine.

the only think i found is that it doesn't stay awake with all routers, it only happends if the router is WPA2 locked and it is "n" standard, the phone will do no problem if it is connected to a open b&g network.

You can either flash the doomkernel v9 that roots the phone by itself, or boot your phone into recovery mode and install the RootXperia if you prefer stock settings
Use Juice defender, you can allways gain some battery time.

Hi Guys,
My XS has been behaving strangely the past couple of weeks and I was wondering whether anyone had an idea as to why it might be.
I'm running STOCK Three UK .75 firmware, no root, no boot unlock.
1. When waking the screen up by pressing the power button I noticed that rather than my standard lock screen, I had the old X10 lock screen load up instead. I probably wouldn't have noticed had the clock not been so different to the Xperia S stock clock... but it shocked me since these were OLD software UI elements that must be on my XS somewhere, and something caused them to render rather than the current UI.
2. When swiping to a different home screen I've noticed the screen black out temporarily before continuing with the animation and loading the next home screen. I'm not a widget intensive user... I've got clock and google search on one screen, "tool" toggles and track ID on another, and accuweather on the third.
3. Facebook images flickering and sometimes staying greyed out. Wifi connection is strong so it's not a connectivity issue... it seems to be a graphical issue, as with the rest of the problems. Facebook news feed sometimes stays completely black, though the UI elements are rendered at the top perfectly.
4. General increased lag across the UI as a whole.
Rebooting hasn't helped... removing a number of apps I thought might be causing issues hasn't helped. Any idea what has happened to my XS all of a sudden?! Seems to me like whatever is rendering graphics is having a problem.
Is it likely to be firmware related or a problem with the graphics chip? Maybe a bad app? The official Three UK ICS is available to me if that might solve the problem?
Cheers.
Try a factory reset before upgrading.
Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
Factory reset hasn't affected the symptoms at all. I'm wondering whether my gpu is struggling? Is there any way to test its performance?
All you can do is flash another firmware or update to ics,if the symptoms still there than you have to send it to service.
Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
I have also encounter the few problem as you have mentioned on .75 (generic uk)
But after upgarding to ics it has completely gone. Try upgrading it to ics, I'm sure that 3 have already rolled out ICS.

The first one is a common problem experienced in GB fw. Sony fixed it when they upgrade the fw to ICS.
Sent from my LT26i using xda app-developers app
maybe try running a benchmark app like antutu benchmark and see how your device compares to other using stock rom etc
Thanks guys.
I ran an Antutu Benchmark check and it came out at the same levels to other stock users so I guess there's nothing majorly wrong.
I'll flash ICS and be done with it I think.
Cheers again.

So my Z2 arrives tomorrow. I should stay on .55 fw or upgrade to .69?

I will.
BTW the phone is amazing
FWIW, the auto brightness setting appears to be brighter/better on .69, although maybe it's just my imagination.
You could always make a ftf copy of .55 then upgrade to 69. If you don't like it downgrade
heres a link to instructions for Tabz pretty sure its no different for z2.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2589419
When I bought the device i upgraded to .69. Everything was ok until today. It seems today began the dreaded battery drain. Is there any way to avoid it or will I have to wait for it until the next update? I know I can go back to the .55, but I do not know if it would be the case.
I do not know if it's just my impression or is it really happening. It may even be in different conditions I am submitting the device, such as poor network, etc..
Anyone know what this is?
Been ignoring the latest .305 update notification, but now this shows up, only 1.3MB - does anyone know what it is / does?
Iv just had this update, installed it and can't see any obvious changes like the security patch update for august or October.

Excuse me, how do you state this?
Because of this
not sure its related or if i had it before
but i see in xperia care that i use more than 75% of my storage space
I have the same notification, both actually: the first one 23.5.A.1.291 and the second one 1.1.A.0.1 with my Xperia Z2
I updated it with the 1.1.A.0.1, it's OK, the phone don't reboot. But I don't update with the 23.5.A.1.291. I don't want to lose the root, xposed, and root apps (it was hard for me to have them on my phone (and I don't know why I can't access anymore to recovery, with locked bootloader)).
Anyone notice any additional battery drain? Might be just imaging it but it does seem like battery not as good.

so far its 1% per hour(average) standby with wifi+data ,so.. you might be right
i'll continue to follow
the next night ill try without data\wifi\bt or stamina mode
my best record so far is 0.11% per hr (1% every 9hrs)
my worst drain yet is 15mins for 1% for standby (wifi whatsapp via browser)
i still didnt get .350 update for some reason
in 60 days we should've get android 7.0 i think (i forgot the date)

Apparently some Z3C report the same problem (like here) , not sure if it can be related. In either case I prefer wait and see if there is an evolution about this update.
I wasn't going to install it but you can't get rid of the notification and then it annoys me ?

Yeah the notification appear this morning and it annoys me too x)
I just stop the service, and freeze the updater app with Titanium BC, and it seem to work.
I got this phone last night. I'm not sure but the battery drains quite fast (4hours screen time). Heats up insanely fast, like I'm just downloading something or browsing a bit then it goes 50 degrees celsius (cpu z). I'm not rooted yet so everything's in stock. I'm haven't tried stamina mode yet as I'm still testing it with regular use. But seriously, I'm really concern about the battery and heat issues. Any help would be really really appreciated. ??

If your phone hasn't received the latest update, you might want to use FlashTool to flash the firmware. If you're nor familiar with Flashtool, do a little searching in the Z5 Compact forums, and you will find plenty of info on how to do it. It's not very difficult.
I'd point you to a couple threads about it, but I'm at work and don't really have the time to find them at the moment.
You could use flashtool to flash the latest firmware + install adb and fastboot (if you unlock your bootloader). Installing a modified kernel will seriously reduce heat issues and reduce battery drain.
Stamina mode is fine, but of course it only works by certain features of your phone when your battery level is getting low.
Thanks for the advices! By using this flashtool, I do not need to be rooted yet, correct? I'll do some searching about this method. Thanks! ????

This. With every update some people claim to have magically have fixed battery and heat issues but reality is the phone has had these problems since launch and they aren't going anywhere.
