Thank You Everyone - HTC EVO 3D

I don't think that this is said enough, here or in any of the threads..."Thank You." Maybe we sometimes take things for granted because we have such great development, and because of that, we have just become accustomed to being on the cutting edge of things. But all of the developers, the testers, the reviewers, the users who supply support to those less saavy...you all really deserve a drink, a pat on the back, at the very least a high five to say thanks for all you do to keep us in the loop.

I know there is drama everywhere, the internet is no different. I just wanted to take a step back and recognize that what we have going on here is truly unique in such a chaotic world. People coming together to help one another, even if it is just helping geek out our gadgets. We have lives, families, jobs. But through it all, we are here as a community of men and women, who put our differences aside for a united goal.

Thank You Devs

Just want to say thank you to all the devs and chefs. I came from the Samsung Epic and I believe there are more ROMs and unique developments/mods out for the 3VO than there was in the 1st six months of the Epics existence. That is awesome. Great Job everyone.
Just would like to say thanks also you know who you are !
I hear they like donations too......
Agreed. Thanks to all the devs with their hard work on rooting & cooking. Looking forward to a bright future for roms on this phone!
Threads like this make me happy and they don't go unnoticed. You're welcome, everyone!
Yes. Thank you developers. Each and every one for your dedication and effort. As evidenced by how things were and how they are now you are what make this forum a community.

Lurkaholic here...coming out of the woodwork to show my thanks as well. I upgraded from a G1 and the level of commitment here is amazing, it just about brings a tear to my eye. Always remember the silent but overwhelmingly appreciative masses. Even if you guys and gals stopped developing today, you would deserve much more than some affectionate verbiage. Unfortunately, it is all I have to give right now. Thanks, really. <3

My rant

I do not know what certain peoples issues are, maybe little man complex or internet tough guy thing but it is friggin ridiculous. A noob posts a question and out of 30 responses he gets one that is an answer. You guys need to chill and I am willing to bet 99% of you would cower in person.
I am a family man with kids so you insecure people do not phase me, but it is downgrading the quality of xda and that is proven by less visits and posts by devs.
To those with patience and a desire to help noobs and others thank you. Mag,freeza, myn, empire, virus, leo and tons of others, thank you for your part in making this site bearable between the immature losers.
I am done with this topic now and will leave it to the bad ass guys to flame away. And by the way, I wonder how many of those smart asses have developed anything lately? Maybe they have, I haven't looked but just a thought.

I try to be nice as possible. My take: That "noob"you're helping out, might be the next great dev here one day. So try not to push them away...... We were all "noobs" at one time. ****, there's still a lot of subjects that I could be considered a "noob" on.

Yeah, it also crazy how people get mad at someone for posting a thread in the general section about how they feel. If you don't like the thread don't comment on it.

Maybe it will help the slower tough ones if we post the definition of general since I doubt they have dictionaries and their educated friends are too busy to help them.

Honestly, I wish mod's would just instantly delete any smart ass comments immediately. We are all here for the same reason, to learn more and how to mod our phones. I remember when I joined several years ago, there were no flames, and people helped out without posting something pointless like use the search button. We were all noobs once, and needed to be steered in the right direction.

True, but that's not always a valid excuse. Some quality contributors/dev's on XDA are only teenagers themselves. So there is always a flipside to the coin. That being said, it does feel like we need a yard duty at times. lol

True those devs are teens but you don't see them acting immature. And the way things are going. A yard duty is exactly what is needed to get the immature out of here IMO.
I made a comment to a certain member on here yesterday. One who always tries to belittle the person that made a mistake. I get tired of seeing that ****. I'm usually an easy going guy right out the gate. But that **** really gets under my skin. Why be a **** about it?? Just help and point or show him the right way. In the 2 paragraphs he wrote, it was all useless, instead of helping the guy out in less amount of space and energy. Felt good to know I had a lot of members behind me on that tho. There is hope!

I try to help where I can. I "troll" the q&a and general sections to answer where I can and help as much as possible. But in certain circumstances I have been know to be an ass at times and also post pictures to laugh at as well. While I see most here as normal people just looking for answers there are a select few that honestly need to further their education by returning to middle school and attempting to finish all twelve grades. Meaning u do get tired of seeing a select few that have no common sense nor do they attempt to fix any problems themselves. They would rather have someone do it for them and it gets tiring. Thise people r usually ruder than the people giving them a hard time to begin with. Sorry just my opinion

i try to stay away from post like these, but occasionally get sucked in.. i feel part of the problem here in 3D land, is that most of us come from different phones. meaning here on XDA we are coming from a different part of the forum. I came from the heroC boards, and everyone there was always helpful, if someone asked a question that had been asked before, yeah they may have gotten harrassed a little bit, but they got their answer. i think that everyone deserves the respect of an answer, but i also believe that you should put back into the community what you get out of it. for a community to grow, the community has to lead as an example for new members. give them the answer, but say i got this by using search, thats not outlandish.. and there isnt any problem with having fun either, you just have to know your boundaries, some people take it all a little too far.
i have been on both sides of this fence, and i am no internet tough guy. i just think we all need to lighten up and help the community..

A Thank You to the Devs

This is probably the most pointless thread that you will ever read on the Rez forum, but I had to post it. When I first got this phone, there wasn't much going on in this forum. Around Christmas, when we got the phone unlocked, this forum just blew up.
I just wanted to give a huge THANK YOU to all of the developers, themers, modders, testers, and trouble shooters who are making this phone so amazing. I know that what they do isn't easy. They don't do it for the money. They certainly have other things that they could be spending their time on that would be considered more important. They have lives just like us. They just do it because they love to do it, which I think is awesome.
So if you have a second, give an extra thanks to all of the devs, themers, and modders that are making this one of the best phones on the market right now. Maybe even toss them a couple of dollars for their hard work.
Another huge thanks for the work with the ICS leak. Now we have amazing ICS ROMs for everyone to use. The devs are seriously outdoing themselves. Make sure you donate or at the very least hit the thanks button on their threads!!! Doing that is free and it shows that you care that they're working their a**es off for you.
I concur. I am so grateful for all the time and effort the devs have put in to make our Rezounds the best it could be. When I get the chance I will definitely put in a donation to help the cause :-D
Sent from my Rezound
We need to show more appreciation to developers. Too many times do we as a community demand stuff from developers. I am sorry for any trouble I have caused and I hope developers see this thread as I hope it grows. I hope to support others to get involved too so we will never run out of stuff to do. We all need to be more open also. The more we say you can't use my work the more we look like apple. I understand people need to give credit but using work when giving credit should be smiled upon and will only result in better roms all together. So thank you to all who work on android phones.

Thanks devs for giving me something to fill my time with so I can avoid doing all the stuff that needs to be done around the house! That is not as fun as geeking out over my phone.
Here here, to the devs! We definitely do appreciate all of your hard work.
Thank You!!! Loving the work.
No, curse you for making me waste so much time reading the forums and tinkering with my shiny new phone!
Heh, yeah thanks all.
I agree a thank you is much needed. My phone is more awesome than HTC ever imagined due to the awesomeness of the developers. Thanks for everything

Big Thanks
Yeah definitely a BIG thanks. I remember around thanksgiving time we were all almost at each other's throats, arguing and bickering about S-Off. After the HTC-Dev unlock and ROMs started sprouting, the conflicts drastically decreased. Mainly in part to the Devs dropping ROMs for us to flash, and to our wonderful MODs keeping us in check. Once again thanks for all that you guys (and gals) do!!
Everyone should tweet at jcase and tell him you guys appreciate what he does. His twitter is @teamandirc

Bump for updated OP. ICS FTW!!!
A huge Thank you to all the Devs ! They work tirelessly for the love of android and developing, but its nice to send some donations their way for all the hard work. After seeing the hours that were put in on bringing us ICS and still maintaining a life and work it is amazing at what they do !
I am new to xda and HTC phones , before that I had an OG droid which I am finding was impossible to mess up compared to S-on Devices so its a learning curve. I have seen so much help amongst posters and devs that I have been able to learn on the go and avoid any major mistakes !
Thank you
Mike
Much thanks and love, devs. Keep up all the hard work. It is greatly appreciated!

I also applaud the patience and professionalism displayed under the pressure of unreasonable demands and rudeness put forth by the unenlightened!
My hat is off to all of you!

I definitely appreciate the devs and donate when I can but at the same time I'm 100% addicted to flashing roms/mods/etc and someday I'll probably need to seek help, so I thank them the same as I would the guy who cooks the meth.

Help to XDA Dev "Task650", whose FIVE YEARS OLD DAUGHTER was diagnosed with CANCER!

I've made announcements as to why there hasn't been any updates lately in all of my threads bro. I haven't had the time due to my 5 year old daughter being diagnosed with cancer. The reason of this post is to raise the awareness among the XDA users about the "task650" situation . I am asking YOU an XDA user or visitor to donate as much money as you can to the "task650. "
His baby girl is diagnosed with cancer and I want YOU to help her to fight this uneasy battle! The medical treatments for her sickness are very expensive and by donating even ONE dollar, YOU will help this five years old girl to win over the cancer! I am not writing this on behalf of "task650, " it is my personal initiative! Being as a member of XDA forums and Android community in general, I feel that it is my responsibility to help the people who are in need as never before.
Here is the link for donations:
Paypal donation email: [email protected]
To "task650": brother, your daughter will get better, especially when there are so many people who are praying for her! Please forgive me for my personal initiative if I offended you by any means!
Donated. Although I've never personally used his ROMs, he's one of us and deserves every bit of help we can offer. This post has been viewed on the upside of 20+ times, I hope everyone is donating as much as they can; even if it's only a little. We're a community and I think we should act like one. Happy I could finally return the favor to a dev to offers so much to us.

i have a lot of respect for the devs here, since they are doing very valuable work without expecting tons of money for it... and to top it off, there are so many ingrates on this site who think they are entitled to their work with little to no appreciation. i'll donate some money. it won't be much, but i'm broke dont' even have a full time job right now.
Donated, please everyone who can, chip in a little. Even a few bucks can make a difference. Seriously, we are running around with $600 phones, getting our high end software for it here for free, we can all give a little back.

Nope. Glad to be here.
Yep, I'm really impressed at how much the developers have accomplished in such a short amount of time since this device released! It's been like, what, a little over 2 weeks? Yet we already have root, an unlocked bootloader, a way to get back to factory stock, and a bunch of custom roms! This dev community has helped to create a bright future for Verizon's Note II and I can't wait to see what else they have in store!
For me this site the awesome work done by so many devs here is why I run an Android device, who wants a walled garden or a phone everyone else has when you can be as custom and crazy as you want to be. Thanks to all who make this a great community to be a part of.

I definitely don't complain about things I can't do myself. My thought to the ETA guys is "if you want it done so fast then do it yourself" I think the team working on the note are some of the best out there...I mean this thing has been out 3 weeks and beanstown106 has already kicked out like 3 ROMs. I mean these guys could punch out roms faster but theyd be buggy as crap. Personally if im putting my name on something its gonna be right. Its crazy. We are just scratching the surface of the dev/mod potential of this phone I think. This is my first Sammy and I'm so glad I made the jump.
I've been following this community since the day it was posted on xda. I've been following everything going on and even donated here and there. I've read and studied every single page lol. I won't be getting my note till after Christmas, but it's okay I feel like a Odin pro by now. Lol. I too wan to shout out a HUGE Thanks. These devs deserve every bit of it.
