Sorry for my bad English.
When I had Galaxy Ace , I can flash kernel from the phone.

dude you are posting threads in development section, general thread is right.
answer to the question,
do not think so, since most CWM recoveries are in the kernel, but i could be mistaken

there is a command to flash kernel files via cwm but sadly it is not possible with our xperia phones.
I've tried it unsuccessfully. search the xda forum for further explanations.

No, it won't work. We have different and separated kernel "partition", and it we can only access from fastboot.

using fastboot is better way to avoid brick phone, I think

Never heard of a trick or apps that can do your question; though direct installation of ROM is possible via CWM or ROM tool box (search for it on the market) It can do a lot of stuff for your phone provided it is rooted and BL is already open.

Hey!
Go to HERE!
And how to go to recovery?
1)Shut down you phone.
2)Hold down POWER+HOME buttons together, until you screen blink once and then comes GALAXY ACE....(not just SAMSUNG logo). Now you can release the buttons.
Now you must see the RECOVERY menu. Use the steps, in that thread, what link I gave you.
ENJOY!

I thought Froyo do not support ClockWorkMod 4.0.0.9 yet? Correct me if i'm wrong.

Sorry I have another question. Do I need to unlock my phone in order to flash into KPH? As you can see from my first post my firmware region is not from Europe and the custom rom I wanted to flash requires me to flash KPH first before flashing their rom. And also if im using CWM v4 in KPH, do i need to flash back into v3 before flashing back froyo since froyo still doesn't support CWMv4?

Hey!
You mean UNLOCK or ROOTING. I think you mean ROOTING? If yes, then you dont need to ROOT, before FLASHING to KPH(with ODIN).
If you FLASH custom ROM, they are all ROOTED already for now!
And for second question: you not need to FLASH CWM3. It will be removed automatically, if you FLASH to KPH with ODIN!

I mean unlocking because I heard that some people said that one need to unlock his/her phone before he/she can flash firmware of other region's. Base on your first answer, do you mean that flashing firmware and custom rom do not need root? Because I think I need to root before Flashing custom rom.( Anyway I have already rooted my phone.)

You need root access first before you can flash a kernel via recovery (factory recovery).
I'll advise you to just flash the kernel via Odin.
However, If you still want to use the recovery option I can post a link for you.
You can always flash updates via Odin. Much faster.

I think you are misunderstanding some things.. You must first root your phone with cf-root AND THEN, you must flash the Rom with the specified kernel. But you can take a shortcut by flashing siyah kernel. You don't need to rely on baseband version.

okay .. so here is what i will be doing..
1> root my phone using the cf root method,(that will be giving me cwm and root)
2> get into the recovery mode and flash cm 10.1.
3> wipe and clear the cache
4> install g apps..
5> install siyah kernel via recovery (the zip.)
6> reboot...
cool enough? should i proceed?

No. Did you read the first post on the CM10.1 Thread?
You have to be running an ics stock rom and then root it.
Afterwards you can then proceed to flash CM10.1.

Hey ma8 first use the siyah kernel v4.1.5 or v5.0.1(tar file for ODIN) form PC ODIN to root ur phone, to get a wrk'ng latest CWM recovery on ur phone
then follow the install instruction given in the CM10.1 thread to install the same, the CM10.1 rom comes with its own kernel that will replace siyah after install

so you mean to say that flashing the siyah kernal will directly give me root? Or will i have to use super one click app after flashing the kernel to gain root? One more thing have you tried the method you gave?
Yes it will, no need for any super one click. Once uve flashed siyah, reboot in recovery (which will now be cwm recovery), make a nandroid before you flash anything. Would be a good idea to back up your apps using titanium backup, your sms msgs with an app like sms backup and restore etc. Then proceed to flash the rom, gapps, make wipes etc.

[Q] Some question about Custom ROM and OTA

Hi all, I've a rooted XT910 with system version 672.180.41.XT910.Retail.en.EU. I've read several thread but I'm a little bit confused and I've some question :
1) There is a lot of Custom ROM, some of those requires different kernel version. When I flash a different kernel I flash the kernel of every rom ? Also the kernel of Stock ROM ( I've installed SafeStrap ) ? How do I install only the kernel that I need ?
2) Can I install any OTA from the recovery mode ? Can I install again 672.180.41.XT910.Retail.en.EU from the recovery ? Or Do I have to use RSD Lite ?
Sorry for the noob questions.
Cheers,

2. You need to install the OTA using the stock recovery, rsd lite is not need because you are already on the firmware

He means that you already have the correct firmware version the OTA will work with, just remember that if you want to apply the update and keep root you must follow the procedure as described in the update post. Don't know what/if it will affect/work with Safestrap installed though ...

Custom ROM

Hello guys, i found the Android Revolution HD rom pretty awesome,it fits my style(stock, fast etc) but i don`t know how to flash it, i have Galaxy s3 i9300 International version Unbranded never locked on any carrier, firmware 4.1.2 i9300XXEMC2 stock kernel, my phone isn`t even rooted...i had a galaxy s1 and s2 before but im not so experienced with rooting the galaxy s3, in that ROM section how to install it tells me i need Custom Recovery, and now my questions are :
1. how i flash galaxy s3 i9300 ? i found chainfire method but i read that it doesn`t support custom recovery ... so what`s the method?
2. wich version i must flash ? what are the differences ? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1797334 the 25.0 or 35.5 version?
HEEEELP ! PLEASE
If you read both chainfires thread and the revolution thread properly then all is completely clear.....don't skim it....read them both PROPERLY ....if you can't be bothered to do this then the chances are you will brick your phone
I just read the revolution thread and found the answer within 1 minute
